The whole song is about autumn which is the season we harvest mother nature's "Mother's milk." I grew up on Van Halen, Aerosmith, Ozzy, and various "Funk" artists thanks to my Dad before I delved myself into the grunge/alternative movement that was the 1990s (it's my heart and soul) In college I attended 3 MuA courses for electives, one pertained to Classical Music, one was strictly Opera, the final was Jazz music.

I think what the artist may have trying to portray was that grapes are a Fall harvest. Their fruit rises up from the bosom of the earth for harvest and then returns to the bosom of the earth when the harvest is over. Quite beautiful actually!
