I am not opposed to implants, but I think that it is a shame that anyone would take a natural language away from children. They are put into a special position to learn about deaf society. My daughter is NOT deaf, but I am teaching her ASL because I think that it will be good for her to know it. I don't speak any other languages, but find ASL a little bit easier (because I can't pronounce things properly ;) and I would never keep her from learning things. I think ASL is great for EVERYONE.

I really have to thank you two! My sister and her husband had their deaf, twin sons implanted with cochlears, and wanted them to have nothing to do with the deaf community. I know you're not deaf yourselves, but your videos have helped me to show them the beauty of ALS and convince them not to deny the boys this part of themselves. I don't think they even saw it as a complete language, before.

@DARTHASL Yes! Exactly! We used “sweetheart” and “cutie” on purpose. Santa is the “sweetheart” who can give gifts. He is not a “baby” (infant). We are not signing word for word but for the meaning. @hcm9999 We do EVERYTHING ourselves. Plan, film, edit, the whole video from A-Z. We have a family member video us from a small hand-held camera, that is our only additional help for sign language or harp videos
