My brother in law let me take a spin at it. pretty big, the steering is good but tricky at u-turns ...of course. over all besides a smooth ride, it gets the job done. we packed a bunch of giant thermocouple wires and metal rings in the back and it handled well. couldn't feel any weight

My family has had multiple Chevys and Pontiacs and a couple Buicks and Caddys, and not one has had a major problem, or needed a rebuild or anything. I've run my Camaro hard, the the point that it honestly should have died long ago, but it refuses to give up. It's a beast. I haven't owned a Ford, so I can't judge them, but I can tell you the Chevys I've owned are quite the opposite of garbage.

The plain truth is that you drive what truck you want to drive. If you're going to do that kind of work, you should've bought a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. The reason they're the "best selling truck" is only because of how cheap they are - no other reason.

truth? the truth is, i went through 3 transmissions in my ford, one engine, 2 heater cores, i dont even know if there is a number for the amount of suspension components replaced, 1 driveshaft(due to a transmission failure though, so not totally the driveshaft at fault here), 2 front differentials and 1 rear differential. Had that truck for about 130,000 miles. after all that, ford is the last place i will buy a truck from. Sorry, but they just couldnt take the beating i give out.

I disagree the 5.4L's in the 2009 F-150s sound really mean. And the 2004-2008 F-150 5.4L's still towed more than the current GM trucks. And in my personal experince the 5.3L has a little more high end, But the 5.4L has a hell of a lot more low end.
