Idle voltage drop vs 2000rpm voltage drop with 1 Mechman 250amp Rhino Series alternator

Not trying to be a hater or anything, but what the appeal on very loud bass when you can't hear the music anymore and all you can feel and hear is rumbling? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get stiffer motor mounts and get the same effect?

This video is about 1 year old. This was right when I got my white DC Power 270SP alternator and test idle and 2000engine rpm voltages against each other on a tone and music.

A few months later I was much happier with the DC Power 270SP, and DC Power as a whole, so I sold the white 270sp and got some 270XPs a little before spring and am now running 3 alts, with 7 runs of total front to back in 1/0 and 3/0welding cable. Then also have an additional 3 runs of 1/0 ground front to back..

6000 watts on one alternator and two batteries? Didn't look too bad to me. You should do an apples-to-apples comparison with just ONE of the new DC power alts in place of the MechMan unit, on the same track with the same batteries.

@sn95chico, Bat *craps* are worthless. I have one on a lil 1500 watt system, trust me they are just as much as a marketing gimmick and the regular caps, just a LOT more spendy. The SLA Batcaps are alright, but still measly for the $ they charge.

To the OP - Get more 3100's. and another high power HO alternator. That's money well spent. If your gonna buy a BatCrap, burn the $, at least you'll get the heat off it.

yea, some people like MR. JL Audio dont know what a .3 ohm load is, and the current a amp draws at that... Voltage is fine when driving, just not idle.

was that an rpm adjuster you had. How did you do that?

yea, i turn the knob until I reach my desired rpm and the cable that is connected to my throttle body holds it there. Works great for BassRace since your only allowed 2000rpms, and can be disqualified for "over reving" past 2000rpm.
