Thanks buddy. I am a DIY'er and I was wondering how to take the dryer apart. Your video was EXACTLY what I needed to disassemble and repair my switch.
ha ha... my husband just watched you, and LOW AND BEHOLD! guess what? he comes out of the laundry room saying "well by god that lid does come off that way" LOLOLO too funny. he doesn't believe that a guy on my computer just walked him thru a repair that would have cost us $75.00 or more!!!!! YAYYYYY..Way cool!!! THANKS A MILLION.
YOU'RE VIDEO WAS A MIRACLE!!!! My wife and I watched your video and helped tremendously. Your directions were very thourough yet simple and easy to follow. We were able to temporarily fix the lid switch with electrical tape to finish the wash cycle!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
After purchasing the $40 part, my husband had it fixed in under a half hour. Thanks so much Mike for sharing your skills and easy to follow repair instructions! We couldn't have fixed it without your video! We also got a chuckle because our washing machine is the same brand and looks like a very similar model to the one in your video!
So thankful for this simply done video! I had purchased the lid switch at a local appliance repair shop and was laughed at when I told him I wanted to do this repair myself! After watching the video, I was able to do this myself - in about less than 20 minutes - NO MAN NEEDED! Girls gone wild! Thanks again!

After watching the video, I was able to do this myself - in about less than 20 minutes - NO MAN NEEDED! Girls gone wild! Thanks again!
Thanks a million appliance Mike!!!!!!! The quotes I got to fix my lid switch ranged from $130.00-$200.00 and thanks to this video it only costs me $31.95 in parts, a little elbow grease and a little time to repair and my washer is working like a charm! I'm unemployed so taking on a $200.00 cost would have been devastating to my budget right now. I'm a girlie girl and even I was able to do this thanks to your tutorial. This video is awesome, thank u soooo much!!!!! You totally saved me!!!
AWESOME!!!!!!! Watching the video gave me the confidence to try the repair myself. It was as easy as you made it seem. With the new part in hand, I watched the video step by step performing each task as instructed along the way. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video available. You have saved many of us a material amount of money. Thanks again.
Thank you Appliance Mike, I saved myself $135.25 dollars for a replacement lid switch. A new lid switch cost me $7.50, plus shipping $7.25, a total of $14.75. I am a women and I followed your instructions which were very clear and concise and I repaired my own washer lid switch. It took me about 20 minutes to put it all back together and it running like a champ!! Thanks a bunch Mike!!
Your video was a lifesaver. We had no idea how to replace this switch. Together, we followed your video (rewinding a few times) and got it right the first time. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this.
Great Video. Thanks, you saved me at least 100.00. My problem was in the lid switch but it was not electrical. The switch (like a clam shell) came open and the the hit switch part came out. I used your video to learn how to take the machine apart and release the lid switch so that I could use super glue to glue the clam shell part back together. Thanks
Fantastic video. Thank you! Just fixed my elderly neighbor's Kenmore for a $10 part and 15 minutes of my time. I first practiced the disassembly process on my own machine so I'd be sure to look like a hero. Due to space constraints, I did the whole repair by just rocking the body forward rather than moving it onto its side and it really wasn't any trouble at all.
Great tutorial! I was seriously about to buy a new washer after I got a repair estimate of $80. After watching your video I realized how easy it was to do it myself by following your instructions. Thank you for saving me 50% of the repair cost and the $300+ I would have spent on buying a new washer!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I live on an island where repair costs are higher than mainland as well as parts. So this saved me loads of money as well as LOTS of time! You've been great!
I found the lid switch to have both mounting screws broken away from the switch housing (a very poor design, or built-in obsolescence). I used plastic epoxy to repair and the washer is working again.
Thanks to your video I was able to complete the job in about 40 minutes. I even spent some time cleaning the inside of the washing machine as it does get someone dirty after 13 years of service. You saved me a bundle on a service call.
I bow down to Mike. Fantastic video! Thanks so much! Did the work in $20 minutes with a $44 part. Thanks a million! The repair would have been over $150. We're washing clothes as I type! My wife and I are teachers and parents with little time or money for costly repairs. Don't know what we'd have done without you! Thanks so much!
A million thanks Mike! I helped my neighbor who lives alone and has a heart condition with fixing her lid switch. I couldn't have done it without this video. This saved her a lot of money, and with having to buy a new furnace and dishwasher already this year she really couldn't afford it. YOU DA MAN!!
Without this video, there is no way for us to figure out how to replace the broken lid switch. We just watched the vido and replayed some sections to catch the details. This video saves us over $100 service call. Thank you for putting this excellent video together.
I can't thank you enough, ApplianceMike, for posting a video with such clear & complete instructions. I was extremely frustrated when my 3-year-old Kenmore fizzled out during the spin cycle - I immediately assumed I would have to spend $300 on a new machine and $50 to discard the broken one. Not wanting to do that, I searched for repair information, and luckily found your video. It cost $30 and took an hour of my time - that's it!! The last thing I wanted to do was spend $200 on a service call.
This video saved me lots of money. I was quoted anything between $50 and $120 for service call alone. I bought the lid switch online for $15 and replaced it myself. My wife is happy beyond the imagination because the washer is working again Mike you are a great guy!
My washer was agitating but did not spin or drain. Now I know that the healthy lid switch should make a distinct clicking sound when closing the lid. If not, the switch is mostly likely broken.
THANKS!!! I knew my lid switch was the problem but had no idea how to get to it. Watched your video and had it in my hands in 10 minutes. Turns out it just needed a little gorilla glue to keep the plastic housing together. Thanks to you I fixed it for free in 30 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!
That was so awesome. I bought the lid switch a good year or two ago and after watching your "very helpful" video, we were able to competently replace the lid switch. That was Great.
You are the guy! My switch went on my machine and now thanks to you and your video this single Mom and son (12) are able to repair our washer. Every penny counts in this economy and I really did not have the money to spend on a new washer. Thank you My son thinks that this would be a great way to earn money for his first car! We will have to take a look at your other videos. Take care
Bless you Mike. Thank you for putting this video together.Everything worked just like you showed it. This is the first time I have ever been able to do anything like this. You are a lifesaver. Many, many thanks.
Extremely helpful! Thank you Appliance Mike. Wish we had watched this before we unscrewed the entire back plate off the machine when it wasn't necessary. Man that was a pain to get back on! This repair cost me $33. - Handy Girl
THANK YOU!!!! I followed your directions and found that the housing on the lid switch separated. All I had to do was glue it back together, reassemble and voila...it works!
Thank you so much for this video! With your help, I conquered my first appliance repair.
