  • Lets face it...its the cigar...

  • Tiger tank replicas on Russian chassis are among the most common film tanks used in the industry. the "Tiger-34" seen here is just one example. another is the "Tiger-55" made on the chassis of a T-55, as seen in the Russian film about the Battle of Kursk which was so convincing, clips of the film are often seen in Documentaries about the Tiger tank. more recently is the Tiger-34 from Saving Private Ryan, and the Tiger-55 seen in Band of Brothers.

  • @Soundwave3591

thank you for sharing this information with the viewers.

  • the great fear of the tiger was created by it's thick armor and it's 88mm gun, better than anything the US or British had on their tanks. however, the Tigers were also fuel-thirsty, which was something that Germany couldn't afford late in the war. they were also, like many German tanks, maintenance intensive. another drawback was it's slow turret speed, as it only had a hand crank, unlike the electric on the T-34 as seen on the "Tiger-34" in this scene.

  • @Soundwave3591

    excellent observation! thank you!

  • @Soundwave3591

The Tiger had a powered turret with handcrank as backup option.

  • Always liked this part for the sound the tank turret made when turning. It made the Tiger seem more ominous.

  • woof woof woof

  • The three Tiger I tanks used in the film were actually ex-Soviet Army T-34 tanks, converted in great detail by specialists of the Yugoslav army for the 1969 movie The Battle of Neretva.

  • @Luka464

    thank you for the information.

  • $1,500/oz

  • Yesss Gold above $1400 again!!!!

  • @YouriCarma

    yessir, go for gold!

if you have any chance and find some gold like those Kelly's Heroes did, don't forget to share your loot with the poor citizens of your country.

  • I love these guys; my kind of soldiers; just a "private enterprise operation". Better fighting for gold than to fill up their heads with a lot of worthless patriotic nonsense.

  • 35th Infantry.

  • Oddball:" The only way I got to keep them Tigers busy is to let them shoot holes in me" -classic

  • Awesome.

  • Oddball is my favorite character.

  • A great movie. The key painted on the tank is the simbol of "SS Division Panzer Hitlerjugend".This unit certainly fought in France

  • @cineaccion3

    thank you for the information.

  • @cineaccion3

Sorry, that isn't the division symbol for 12th SS it is the 1st SS.

  • @khazad64 You are right. That 's the division symbol for 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler.

The division symbol for 12 st SS Hitlerjugend is a key and a rune.

Thank you for your for information.

  • @khazad64 you´re right, thank you very much

  • (big joe) "65 million marks" (german) *huge eyes* (screen blackens comes back up) BOOM! there goes the bank door

  • @MrRolex96

    go for those gold bars!

btw, do soldiers wear Rolex watches when they go to war?

  • Inside joke: Oddball adjusting his pistol and grinning towards Eastwood, nod to Eastwoods spagetti westerns.

  • Gold is money, and nothing else -- JP Morgan.

  • love this film.

  • Thanks vincentyeo88 for posting it! Great, awesome film...no bad ones/good ones like all the Hollywood bul***it of those times...just go for gold !! According to me,one of the best scenes of war movies, and the open wide eyes of the SS (!) seargent - 65 millions Marks! - worth the film :-))

  • you're most welcome, and thank you for watching this clip.

  • Karl Otto Alberty (German tank commander) He always plays a German SS, Gestopo or German officer. Great character actor.

  • @b42baritone in the movie: the battle of britain he is playing an luftwaffe officer

  • You know when he is on screen, he is one bad ass German.

  • 1st SS Leibstandarte (Stabswache), that tanker is hardcore! Hitler's personal guard staff! No wonder he's guarding the gold.

  • @RacerXGTO L-SS-AH. I'm suprised someone else noticed that.

  • i wonder single tiger will be sitting duck by an infantry

  • ahahah oddball gotta love him lol wat a nut u allways got one guy like him on everyteam lol a nut but a sweet guy ahahah

  • "Make a deal deal...maybe he's a republican"

    hahaha LOL!

  • a fantastic film

  • yeah yeah and would'nt we just all like to make a deal deal like Don rickles character say's there and then to ahve the ball's to stand up and just take it all away and use it for something really pratical hmmm! i've always wanted a real chnce to make it big quick like that aw well maybe it might happen ya just never know but i'm still wating for that shot!

  • have patience and keep searching 'coz it might come true someday soon.

  • errr true Waffen SS character didnt such that kind,.. Better put the reguler german army take the role

  • The only thing I never understood about this movie is if the Tiger shot at the bank door, wouldn't it have blown up everything inside? It blew a clean hole through the door but the room is completely... Oh nevermind.

  • who were you germans rooting for? =)

And yeah one of the best war movies in its day.

  • Hey Baker! No more negative waves-have a little faith baby, have a little faith. It's a beautiful film, full of cosmic colors and psychedelic scenery. Definitely a grand mosaic on the world stage of cinematic brilliance.

  • This was always my favorite war movie. I first saw it in a movie theater at an army base in Germany in 1970 (or it might have been 1971) when I was in the army over there.

  • yes, it's a great war movie.

i'd watched it at a local cinema in the early 1970s, and bought the VCD several years ago.

  • wbaker7,u goth red on u.

  • nothing is absurd in this movie 'coz it is a war satire.

  • how dissapointing. what would oddball say? "you gotta have the possitive thoughts to enjoy the flick, man"

  • jesus christ. people say i am being too serious about this movie but i say a lot of people take this movie way too seriously. i never realized it had such a huge fan base. look oddball belonged in Vietnam. I really cant enjoy a movie about an SS detachment and US soldiers teaming up to rip off gold (probably provided from some of the finest families in Germany no doubt) -- sorry. Most people who love this movie seem to (as many did with MASH) mistake it for Vietnam

  • It's a 1970s comedy, Wbaker7, you buffoon...

  • for something that is a 1970s comedy a lot of people like you seem to take it all too seriously, i mean way too seriously. Here is a little advice pin head---get a life

  • Me? Serious? Dude, YOU'RE pointing out the historical inaccuracies in a comedy that's not meant to be taken seriously.

  • i said the fans of the movie take it way too seriously--i started out by saying i thought this an overrated movie and i get about a ton of replies defending the movie like its like it is something holy. If it is jsut some kinda of light entertainment why do some many get so exercised about--enough for me to get a couple of replies a week...answer: some people just got way too much time on their hands.

  • Like YOU, for instance?

  • Actually I am kinda of interested why this movie does draw so many defenders and seems to have some many loyal---even crazed fans---i mean we arent tawking about Citizen Kane here or even the Godfather and yet this movie has a lot of advocates who circle the wagons over any crit. of it. Can you pls. explain what it is about it that has inspired such loyality?

  • Beats the hell out of me. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I haven't noticed any "crazed fans". It's most likely just you.

  • Just me? em right, that's why I got a mail box full of emails from people who think it is a sin to to crit. this movie. Just look at what has posted here for example. You would think people were rallying to defend a great masterpiece. And all cause I started out by saying I thought it was overrate--take my word for it--every Joe Six pack who can work a remote seem to love this flick. For the record had it not been for the WWII hippies I think this could have been an OK movie not great but OK

  • Also I am not totally alone on this. Most professional critics thought the movie wasn't so good.,,but i guess people who make a living reviewing movies are a bunch of buffons too,

  • Yeah, whatever kid, calm the fuck down.

  • stop with the negative vibes already

  • Heheh..

  • Hi man.........

  • odd balls the funniest i think any way

  • No He's not the funniest, just the most sane person...

  • i didn't say u must like him

all i put was my view

  • Thanks for putting this on your right mate best war movie ever.

  • best war film ever made

  • one of the best clint eastwood movies

  • One of the audiences favorite Clint flix-but alas, Clint hated the making of the film. It wasn't his production company and I suppose the whole scene just wasn't his cup of tea. Even today, he's likely to shutter at the thought of it. But WE know it's totally cool.

  • " a deal deal, maybe the guy is a republican?" (to bad we dont have any of those left) "you zee american army!"(he was the perfect kraut)

$16,000,000 worth of gold and the SS guys open wide, awesome!

  • Private enterprise is about engaging the enemy for a profitable cause.

  • well said.

  • One of the Best scene (5:21) of "warmovies" :P

  • Oddball is class!

  • yeah! and Donald is KING! gee, where is he now?

  • Hey Big Joe Woof Woof...Oddball

    Thankyou for posting!!!

  • "What kind of a deal?"

    "A DEAL deal."

This movie is one of the best and most unsung ever made..

GREAT post, many props to you!

  • thank you, and you're most welcome.

  • Wonderful video, thanks for posting.

  • you're most welcome, anytime.

  • Thats Me

  • Thanks for posting! I love this clip and the Western Referance is awesom and very Clint Eastwood!

    :D Doink Doink

  • yes, and you're most welcome.

  • :D :D

  • you're most welcome, anytime.

  • My favourite scene of the whole movie. The music is clearly a satire of those on the Western Spaghetti movies Eastwood himself was doing at the time (especially Sergio Leone's «The Good, The Bad and The Ugly» main theme). Today's directors should watch this movie and learn how to make a comedy whithout insulting the audience's intelligence. By far the best war satire ever made.

    Thanks to the poster.

  • you're most welcome, anytime.
