  • I loved this guy since I'm 13. And I'm Muslim. Defenently Good music has no boundaries

  • I cannot listen to this version often enough.

  • 20 idiots have seen this amazing video.

  • 20 people are deaf.

  • McGyver on drums!!!!

  • Shocking talent. I think it is rather interesting that at this period in his life he was probably totally wasted when he played this... and he could still fucking do it.

  • 1:42 ¿Es Del Potro?

  • Anybody have a version of this performance that doesn't SKIP?????? PLEASE???

  • @thighmister Never mind, found one: watch?v=69_PO2NAIbE&feature=related

Plus it has So Excited right after.

  • @thighmister Search for a Youtube channel called MBSRV. The version of Testify they have comes from the Live in Tokyo DVD. It's the long version where he switches from Lenny to Number 1 part way through the song, and in the last couple of minutes he goes absolutely nuts on No.1.

  • Sounds like alot of you young ones need to really LISTEN to some of SRV's WORDS in his songs. He totally cleaned up his life, including his "cussing", because he realized just WHO was listening and hearing him. He wouldn't be proud of you, to have you using language like this...with him in the presence of our Lord. Think about it. Wall of Denial, Walkin' the Tightrope, Caught in the Crossfire... Make him proud of YOU, and drop the unnecessary words that offend the Holy Spirit.

  • @SharonsApronStrings shut the fuck you you faggot. fuck the holy spirit. ill say fuck if i fuckin wanna because SRV fucking shreds................................FUCK!!

  • @SharonsApronStrings Goddamn it you are fucking right!!!!!!!!!! I will clean my fucking language up now!!!

  • @SharonsApronStrings I would have to reply thusly: "God is dead, S.R.V can shred, now shut the fuck up and give me some head."

  • this is how SRV played guitar, the rest of us can but try...

  • ha i can make you go crazy

  • Es dios

  • How to play a guitar....

  • A total and utter legend. One of my favourites. Love when he steps on the pedal to give the tone change near the end. Thanks Stevie (and Double Trouble!)

  • hell yeah! or fuck yeah! or whatever you yell when you're drunk out of your skull and you have not had a sip of alcohol yet - just this performance

  • The ONLY way to play guitar!!!! Tnx for uploading

  • Rest in peace, brother. DAMN, this always gets my heartrate up!

  • Epic start

  • @9timesnine I just don't understand why you are bringing up Jimi's name to this vid? If you want to tell the world whose fan he was, do start with the most important to him, Albert King

  • @9timesnine The whole point of leaving comments on these pages is to allow people to speak free. I neither want to argue nor to contest your opinion; you can live with it forever.

In my opinion no one can take their soul from another man and if you don't have the flare by birth you'll never have it anyway

  • Vamonos poniendo rockers!!

  • makes me want to start drinking and smoking and rooting like I was a 20 year old again !

  • @Dutchy1965 well I've given up on the smoking

  • cool i am ur girl

  • Yeah!!!! Too cool!! Loved it!!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • Saw him twice... Those that didn't.. Way better off! To see him Live, was Like No other show on planet earth!!!! R.I.P. Never again in are Life time, Period!

  • Is what it is my Friends:)

  • you cant copy this sound...no..no you cant

  • Comment removed

  • Wow!! That was like a punch in the gut!! BAM!! SRV up in yo' head, sucka!

  • 20 people clearly can't hear....

  • haha cigarette on the headstock.

    what a badass

  • SRV >> _______ (insert anything)

  • i love the face chris makes in the beginning :)..SRV thanx for everything you've done

  • people miss how much the bass and drums were important. they bring the song along and stevie takes it makes is unserpassable

  • Luv Stevie but as time passes not digging Double Trouble. He could have scaled unparalleled highs with the right band. RIP SRV.

  • @reissue

You're retarded, Double Trouble was AMAZING.

  • Today is the 21st anniversary of Stevie's Departure. He is the greatest and always will be! I am going to presume a great deal but I think if Stevie were able to speak to us today he would tell you, "Get ready cuz the Groom is coming for His Bride!" Then he would give us a great big Stevie Ray Smile and add, "He's been teaching me some new riffs!!!"

  • @irishsetterarchie AMEN, Brother!!!

  • @tambourini The way we find Stevie when we get there is to listen for him!!! Thanks for commenting back tambourini!

  • Thing about music is that if you have to think about, you more than likely have it wrong.. Music is all about expression and emotion. How Stevie played was the right way, that's why all of his music is so good. It's just right. The End.

  • pure soul. He plays without thinking. The only way.

  • amen. you got that right

  • The bassist is making a concerted effort to keep his jaw off the floor, while stevie shreds with his eyes half closed. There has been absolutely no guitarist that is the equal of stevie ray vaughan. Move over Jimi, sit down clapton, and take a hike B.B, cause Mr. Vaughan is here to show you how its done.

  • @djrademac I might have to disagree on jimi. hes an equal. marley is in my opinion. cobain. XD god(S)

  • I am a witness.

  • Amen !

  • ATX

  • STEVIE IS A LEGEND!!!!!

  • My guitar heard this and looked at me like i was an asshole.

  • @ripmj12380 JAJAJAJAJA

  • whenever i think of "jawdropping" i always remember the 1st i saw this 8P

  • I would lick his teeth

  • Eargasm.

You can also really hear the Hendrix influences in this song/ SRV's playing.

  • That guitar has some serious miles on it. Luckiest tree in the whole fucking forest.

  • This is my favorite SRV song, I love playing this. Even made a cover video...

  • 0:15 he's really into it :D

  • 20 ppl are justin bebier fans

  • Fucken... he does it without even trying... true bawse right here...

  • When I was 12 years old I was learning to play guitar, I only knew a few guitarrist, once I went to a dvd store and I saw this dvd called : "Stevie ray vaughan live at the mocambo" this song was first, I didn't knew who Stevie was, when I heard this song it fuckin change my life.

  • Stevie was like I must show them how it is done. Kick drum sounds beast too. I used to have this vhs tape.

  • I have now found the EASIEST way to define the word legend. Nuff Said !

  • one of music hero that ever born in this planet......

  • This song rocks, check out this great live cover version:

    youtube.com/watch?v=53PDjxqSraY

  • Short, sweet and licks so hot you could grill a steak on his strings when he finished this tune.

  • what makes a great guitarist? the ability to sing!

hendrix didn't sing well (tho better than 99% of what i hear today)

vai & van halen, etc, don't sing at all.....

    just my opinion.

  • @tattooninja

Then what makes a great singer? The ability to play guitar?

  • @Jesrama1

    yes!

    wait, accordions are good too..

  • @tattooninja That makes no sense. Hendrix is one of my favorite guitarists and undoubtedly the greatest, but his ability to sing isn't related to his guitar talent. On a side note, Eddie Van Halen did sing for the band before they were big, I've heard some live bootlegs of him singing, he wasn't bad, but a full time singer was the missing link for a band with such great technical ability.

  • @lolwtfreak

"Hendrix is...undoubtedly the greatest, but his ability to sing isn't related to his guitar talent."

-ok, but i know a lot of musicians who disagree.

i didn't know van halen sung, will check it out.

  • @tattooninja Hendrix had a nice voice, not perfect (after all he was primarily a guitar player), but he had a voice that went beautifully/amazing with his guitar.

  • @tokiluv1

    agreed!

  • Incredible Stevie, groovy soul, Hendrix was great suuuure ! but I can't forgive somebody who burn or destroy a Fender Strat, (or anyelse instrument of music) even under drugs' influence .....

And please, don't care about my pityfull english, I'm just a bloody "froggy"

  • Incredible Stevie, groovy soul, Hendrix was great suuuure ! but I can't forgive somebody who burn or destroy a Fender Strat, (or anyelse instrument of music) even under drugs' influence .....

And please, don't care about my pityfull english, I'm just a bloody "froggy"

  • @buddy guy was the best, Any one Got the Stone crazy Album if u dont get it put on the song (when I first left home, lay back and let it take over your emotions. BG was a major influence on both hendrix and stevie. he was playing the same concert with stevie the day he died, But even buddy said Steve R V was the best he has ever heard

  • @wlvaughan1

Yes, BG said "Stevie's the best guitar player I've ever heard"

On the other hand Stevie said "There is no best guitar player"; I very much love BG but on this I’ll go with SRV

  • He died 21 years ago. Who would believe it? His playing is timeless.

  • 2:21 to 2:36, playing the guitar, left hand on top of the fretboard, just plain outta sight!

Still blows my mind no matter how many times I see it.

  • 19 people like Justin Beiber

  • REALLY disturbing the cuts of the sound....couldnt finish hearing...

  • Great song, quality and artist. I feel like TOny the Tiger right now.

  • @Kurtiz76 subliminal messages..

  • thank you for the description 99.99% correct

  • @smileyguysguitars

    So 00,01% is wrong? What?

  • I had a man who could play me and my special place like SRV plays guitar. I wish I had him in my life now...

  • The way he looks at his guitar 2:30-2:32 sums it up for me. Such a passion.

  • So.Fucking.RAW!

  • everyone who tries to compare srv to hendrix obviously havent listen to much of either. they are completely different guitarists. and stop trying to dumb down hendrix too....the guy invented the use of the modern electric guitar and did things with it that even srv couldnt do..that being said, srv does some things jimi couldnt too. theyre both great

  • @YanksFan162 It's always Hendrix fans that do the comparing. They are on every SRV vid, not allowing people a personal choice, yelling "Jimi's the best ever" and "Without Jimi there would be no Stevie". Both claims are utterly retarded and over the time those overenthusiastic Hendrix admirers get tiresome and often provoke counter-hostility. Frankly, I've never seen SRV fans belittling Hendrix on Hendrix related pages. The opposite is in process all the time no matter how different both were

  • @Jesrama1 Hendrix was influential, he was a sloppy guitarist, he wasn't really an excellent one, I love Hendrix, but you gotta speak the truth, and that's the truth.

  • @vallecaucano114 man, what makes a good guitarrist? only technique? Soulfull and emotion playing is what puts jimi as the greatest; he was one with his guitar and it was pure magik.

and btw i don't agree he was a "sloppy guitarrist" he had a great technique, but its hard to play while trippin on LSD

  • @icps86 See, I was going to mention how what Hendrix had over most people was how much emotion and creativity he had, but i got lazy, so believe when i say this, I agree with you, but, his technique was really not that awesome, he was just really really innovative, and I think that's what made him so good.

  • @vallecaucano114 Stevie had flawless technique but many have. That’s not what he had over other 80s players. It was his emotional playing first and foremost. Some critics even complained about him being "over the top". Hendrix was innovative and courageous enough to do what he felt like doing on his guitar and back in his day that's what he had over his peers. He inspired many guitarists to feel free to experiment hence he's reputation of the most influential guitarist

  • @icps86 Mate, if SRV got any fame as a guitarist, it was not because of technique but because of his unmatched passionate soulful playing. Hendrix was pretty experimental and hat’s what makes most of his reputation. Hendrix mostly engages my ears. Every note Stevie plays hits my soul. Never experienced anybody like him to this very day. BTW, there is no such creature as "the greatest”; not in music at least. It's all opinion and preference and more or less prejudice

  • @Jesrama1 yeah i agree

  • @icps86 yeh buy SRV was a big time drug addict at first and he still wasnt sloppy, i think the guitar was his third arm, he how it worked and how to make it sound perfect, Hendrix was great but i think SRV was better, hendrix was just the first to expierience with Blues/rock, but SRV took that to a whole 'nother level.

  • That is one tight set!

  • Trying to compare Hendrix and Vaughan and sayin one is better than the other is stupid, they are two different playing styles. Vaughan is no Hendrix, and Hendrix is no Vaughan, so ya'll shut up

  • Thank you Stevie,

For permanently filling the air with hot nasty guitar licks and sassy twang.

  • @potskomer

I went to school and studied civil engineering. I'm glad they taught me what they wanted me to know. And I don't feel like a robot. I'm glad I learned by reading before I started doing because if I did it your way many could be dead by now...and that thought scares me to death

  • @theguitarlegend53 naw not really.

  • @theguitarlegend53 Personally, He Sucks

  • person who posted this video said it best - this is how you play guitar

  • 0:14 That drummer is so badass

  • sounds awsome

  • @freemumiaaj what

  • he is good!!!

  • that's some filthy stuff

  • Accually double trouble is known as the best rythym section alive. And its true. They hold everything perfect. And stevie(best guitarist ever) put the icing on the cake. Best musicians who ever lived right there.

  • Holy shit!!!!

    Just Amazing!!!

  • 2:40 - 3:00 is amzing, sounds so evil.

  • ty4 posting!!!

  • i feel bad for the bassist lol. he's incredible and no one give a damn.

  • Its amazing he sounds just as good live......R.I.P stevie.

  • I can ONLY see SRV. Where the hell is Double trouble!? Oo'

  • FUCKING SPACE COKE = BEST PLAYING IN THE WORLD

  • Absolutely incredible, and all synonyms of it.

  • the best ever no more to b said

  • @michaelf8484 finally someones words makes sense......done

  • @michaelf8484 second best ever, first is hendrix

  • God damn SRV live sounds almost fake and recorded he is that good.. SRV is about the only artist I would actually kill someone for the right to meet god !! I know there are a lot of great guitarists out there but what I was brought up on SRV to me will be the best guitarist who ever lived and I don't think many could argue with that.

  • @graysquirrel36

It's about facts not about who your favorite player is. I don’t give half a frog about that. As for the quitting, I never made a vow to quit on your wish. And you're still there, too. The difference is that when I talk to you I do address you while you act like those queers who when speaking to someone don't have the guts to look’em in the eye

  • I'm just surprised that Strat didn't break in half or burst into flames.

  • @graysquirrel36

Save it. Your fundamental mistake is that you are overplaying Hendrix influence. He started playing the guitar influenced by "my brother and the blues" (quote). Another time he said "while the other kids listened to the 60s guitar gods (guess who those were) my brother and I listened to the old Blues masters". Everybody knowing a bit about Stevie knows his main hero and influence was Albert King. Hendrix was an influence too, like "every guitar player I've ever heard" (quote)

  • 16 ppl were jelous of srv's hat.

  • jimi couldnt play like that if he had lived to be 100 but the guy was a pioneer and an awesome guitar player so its not like the guy was shit... but i mean to compare him to stevie.... idk man seems pretty silly to me... not even in the same ballpark man.

  • Just for the record, I think Stevie was a guitar God, I'm actually saying he is "my" favorite guitar player of all time! So no more arguments from me, but I do know a thing or two about the man, and his music! Done!

  • oh hello testify people .......you people need help, ..i need help......S.R.V. clinic for help. srv adddicts only......hit thumbs up for the survey, and suppport.......

  • @graysquirrel36

I see your good intentions but for the sake of factual accuracy...it wasn't Jimi who "opened the door" for Stevie; the number of people commenting on SRV without knowing the first thing about him and without even realizing the link between him and Hendrix never ceases to amaze me

  • @graysquirrel36

No need to change history. It would suffice to know a bit of it

  • @shinjr1

If only Jimi had ever played like THAT!

  • will always be my most outstanding opening song---ever

  • This is how you play guitar... This is how I wish I could play lol

  • Down and dirty Texas blues

  • is for that John Mayer loves him!!!

  • next to little wing this the mesmorizing shit of the god and master of guitar ------from texas,usa------stevie ray vaughn -----it'll be a lonnggg time till we seee a guy like this.................

  • imagine trying to keep up with that...

  • god is playing the guitar...
