i wonder if i were to start playing eve now if there would be enough time to grow into a somewhat significant state of power before the game ends and servers die... or if i had played since launch, how powerful i would have been now! @liberator48 eve will last for another 15 years at least. CCP has promissed not to close severs before 2025 and probably wouldn't do so since eve is still growing on players, just hit record on 62k players online on one sever

@ramprire We get to build infrastructure on them so we can make stuff that was previously only acquired from NPCs. One more part of the in-game economy will now be in our own hands.

Then Dust will let us fight for planet territory by proxy. :D

you alway see planet with a temperature of like 50 kelvin, but the planet contains liquid water, and 50 kelvin is like -243 Celcius lol, must be an error from the developpers

Yeah, I think it's an artifact from when the galaxy was very first procedurally generated. The devs have said they're going to go back and address the issue.

There's lava planets. Ice planets. Terrestrials like in the video. Desert planets. Storm planets. Plasma storm scorched planets. Dead terrestrials. Gas giants. Possibly more; that's just what I've found on sisi.

I'm probably due to make another video soon covering these as well as moons and such.

to bad for low end graphic players. shader will need to be at max if you ever do wish to see the graphics of the planets. if not. all you get is a nice big BLUE ball of nothingness.

Go on test server and turn shader to low. all you see now is a huge fricken BLUE ball. unlike what is at the start of this video for AP(low,med,high still same). (AP vs Domin).

this level of planet graphics was acheived using a true procedural (ccp's "procedural planets" ara a lie) 3 years ago by a lone developer working on his game Infinity. dont be so impressed.

i find it hard to admire the planet with the bright yelow background behind it, looks too unrealistic.

Different games, different solutions.

The background nebulas are as old as the game and could use a good updating to something more mellow, to be honest. The game is in a period of graphical renovation so older relics like that still exist. It's not that they're bad by any means, it's just that we all have an expectation that space is black and star-speckled and the nebulas are a bit out of our common experience.

Actually they have made new background nebula and space effects, if you've seen Wormhole space you'll know what I mean. Pretty awesome stuff.

For eve, i think the best solution is to just update the nebula backgrounds, similar to the way they've done the anomalies in wolmhole space maybe

The TQ -> Sisi patch is over 600mb currently. And yes, the stars, rather, the star fields that overlay the background nebula, are being updated. If you zoom the camera in, there's more and more and more stars and it looks stunning.

I got the same framerates both looking at and looking away from the planets on the sisi build I filmed this at. Currently on sisi the new background starfields are in and I get the same FPS in space just flying around as I do on TQ. In both cases, a solid 83-85fps. I think you'll be just fine.

I'm here on Niarja right now. I'm Flying in a Merlin with full MWD, going 2496M/S, and although it's been about 40 minutes, I STILL have 2544km to cover LOL!!

This version is actually better then the one you have here, and I must say it's amazing to see the lights of the cities on the far side, and the atmosphere and land masses on the other.

Also, it looks like they've updated the stars on Sisi, but they still don't look as impressive as the recent screenshots they've released.

I was fooling around with my firetail in sisi next to one of these planets at an asteroid belt. The current sisi build still has problems with the planets showing in front of the rocks when the planets are hundreds of thousands of km away.

This particular planet is Niarja 10, but you can also find them in other systems, especially the core systems like Amarr, New Caldari, Tash-Murkon, Luminaire, etc.
