I just got the rear seats removed. No need in hauling 5 people around in a 2 door car. just make it about the music. no more than 4 12's and 2 amps & tweeters. all by bose, of course. i tried to get make it like the kia soul, with the lights, but couldnt get it to work. but blue led lights look nice all around my system.

No problems so far. I have heard that Mini Cooper S produced from 2002-2005 had some problems but they fixed it in the newer models.

Cool. If you modify it using parts form MossMini or MiniMania make sure that you get the  right model for your car. The 2006 Mini is divided by the year.... They changed some stuff on the minis made the second half of the year so find out when yours was made.

Thanks for all of the kind comments! When I made this video my door speakers were stock but I have since installed Alpine Type S speakers in both the front and back. It is a great improvement over the stock speakers. It was quite a hassle putting them in though.... I had to make mounts out of fiberboard for the front speakers and customize the tweeters. If you have free time make a video on your setup. I would love to see what you are running!

The amp is made by Kenwood. You can see the odd when I pull the amp out and that is just the ending of "Kenwood". I miss spoke in the video. I had a alpine amp when I first put the system in but I tripped the safety fuse and had to get a new one. I went with Kenwood instead of alpine the second time.

How the hell can a person get a car choice so horrifically wrong? A BMW Mini? Did you not take your medication or leave your glasses at home? Of all the fugly, offensive, over priced POSs to buy! when u put the rims on did you have to deal with the tire pressure monitoring system? been wanting to get some rims but not all of them are tpms ready and dont want to put some wheels and have the comp going crazy!

When I first put the rims on the tire pressure system went off randomly a couple of times. I pressed the reset button next to the emergency brake and that fixed the problem. I the pressure gauge has not gone off in over a year. Im not sure if this will be the same with all rims though. My rims are 18" which matches the circumference of the stock rim perfectly so any bigger or smaller might cause a problem.

The cost of everything... The head unit was 250, the amp was 300, the wiring harness was 80, the subs were 150 each, and for me to build the box I think it was just over 100. That brings it in at just under $1000. Not a bad price!!

Just last week I bought new speakers for the front and rear because the stock ones started to go out on me. It was another 250 added on the amount above just for the speakers but some fabrication is needed to fit everything properly. Mini does ROCK!!

You mentioned you got speakers to replace these? could you let me know what sizes you got or what size fits the mini with minimal fab? eg. is there a particular diameter that slots right in? cheers :) love your subs btw ;)

Almost any 6 1/2 inch speaker will fit the front slots as long as it is not extremely deep. I have the Alpine sps-600C speakers for the front. You will have to make a mounting bracket for the front because the factory brackets do not work with any adaptor that is currently made. I just cut a piece of fiber board to size and used that to mount them. Rear speakers are 6X9 and are standard mounting brackets. You will want to rewire the speakers because the factory wires are crap.

I love my Mini. It has been a great car and has treated me well. I would definitely recommend it but you do have to keep in mind that it is a small car. If you don't need a lot of room and want a fun car to drive it will definitely fit the bill.

Nice lookin car man. That is an impressive setup and great job on the sub enclosure. I'm probably eventually going drop a setup in my current car. In my old Audi I had a Sony Xplod head unit with Kenwood speakers all around, a kenwood 800 watt amp, and 2 audiobahn 10" subs. It was a solid setup. I think I'm going to drop a Kicker L5 or L7 in my car that I have now.

Im using the 30 Minute version.... I think it is the lowest of all the iflip cameras.

I dont mind not having a trunk! The car is small to begin with so loosing the small trunk doesn't really matter that much to me. I 2008 Toyota Rav 4 if I need room for stuff!
