i just put a bit of loose kno3/ sugar mix to ensure ignition of the smoke comp.

Hey, what compositions and ratios would you use just for regular Kclo3 smoke bomb. Ive been serching all over the internet and havent found anything. Everytime i make a Kno3 smoke bomb it turns out badly..

but do you mean, just white smoke?

if so, try 60/40 KClO3/ Lactose?

ive never tried it, but it might work.

You probably would have had thinker smoke if you had used 2 parts oxidizer, 3 parts fuel

and I just finished filming a test of several ratios of KNO3-sucrose mixtures, I should have a vid up shortly.

I will soon conduct a similar test using lactose and KClO3

yes, thats correct, but you will not get coloured smoke generator mixs, using KNO3 based comps.

it burns way too hot, KClO3 is needed with lactose (well i used sucrose here, as the fuel, but it only affected the intensity a little bit)

there really isnt an easy way to dye smoke mixes. First off it needs to be KClO3 based, not KNO3/ Sugar mixes as these burn too hot.

The dyes are normally quite expensive, and sometimes hard to come by?

have you tried looking on Ebay?

That looks like para (P-nitroaniline) red, rhodamine is a lot pinker than that. A f**kin superb smokeb*mb. :D 5*

Careful with the smoke, azo dyes are possible carcinogens. ;D
