God gives you something called a free will, He will let you chose Him or your own way, and he will honor the choice you make. If you don't believe in God and only care about money, drugs, sex ect. Then this world is the closest you will ever get to Heaven, But if you trust and believe in God with all your heart, Then this world is the closest you will ever get to hell.
When you wake up and realise that man is not a divine creation then you soon see that religion is man made as is the bible. Not believing in god does not mean that you take drugs. It does free you from sexual repression but you would be hard pushed to make the money of most religious leaders! Heaven and hell do not exist so I make the best of what fate provides! I do not ask for belief but I do ask for people to think for themselves!
Conflating God with religion is one of the most absurd things that atheists do. God has nothing NECESSARILY to do with those that claim to be His representatives. - anymore than science has anything necessarily to do with atheists. False claimants to the positions of God's and science's representatives have ALWAYS abounded. Con artists are nothing new.
Simple... God wants us to love Him and our neighbour - including Catholics and Muslims ... and not quarrel over religious rituals or different traditions .... Peace ..
So u believe u were once a monkey? LoL.. And that there is no life after death? Then u are truly blind. Can science explain why we cry when it hurts especially during emotional pain? It is because our soul can't take it anymore so the body cries. Or why we feel tremendous joy when we are happy with our loveones? That is your soul feeling love my friend.. I believe I am a masterpiece of God. U are too.. God is in us all, not some old man in the sky..
I know that our ancestors were once primates and this is a fact based on evidence. Check out DNA!
Yes, science can explain emotions! Your own body is a chemical factory that produces drugs for emotional situations which is why some emotions become addictive!
Logic shows that if you have a soul then every animal and plant on earth must have one too!
We are all products of an evolving earth not a figure of your parents imagination!
Explain how the universe came to be without God? It can't just pop out of nothing can it? U non believers will see the truth one day, but then it might be to late.. =)
search for the elegant univers, its 3, hour long episodes explaining string theory that came about in the 70's and 80's which brought about a lot of science fiction that we know of today. and as you watch they explain how small things get. which leads to the question of where did it all start and where did it all come from. and we are searching for this partical called the higgs boszon.
If you send money to televangelists, you will get everything you pray for. If you don't, you will grow pus-filled boils on your private parts and you will never get laid again.
You can quote the bible to an atheist all day, but as we don't believe the bible is anything but fiction, it falls on deaf ears. It is so full of contradictions, death, jealousy, murder, adultery, all at the hands or behest of a supposedly loving god. Christians seem to think that atheists reject god, or refuse to believe in him, but the fact is I CANNOT believe in god. Everything about religion just screams out LIES, HYPOCRACY, ARROGANCE and SELF-DECEPTION and I can't see how you can't see it.
I think the problem is you are one of those people that thinks the bible is somehow the word god. Surely a document inspired by god would be clear in it's message, not open to mis-interpretation and be relevent for all nations for all time. There are so many ridiculous laws in the bible which, if we followed them would mean killings of adulterers, homosexuals, apostates, disobedient children.... oh thats muslims! Gosh, maybe muslims are better christians than christians!!!
This video is like a ray of sunlight on a dark and dismal soul prison created by con men. They even legislate the after-life..which they know nothing about..no one does. I'll repeat an important rule in life.."If you accept authority as truth rather than truth as authority..you'll never be free!"
A religion claims to be an authority in which you cannot question it's beliefs. I wish them well.they are mostly good obedient people, but are tempted to meddle in others lives!!
Don't believe everything you read. Those who do are doomed to live their lives by 'THE WRITTEN WORD" which was written to try to manipulate people and make them believe in what somebody says. Why not believe in what makes you feel whole and gives you strength.
Good video!Religion was born out of ignorance. It continues ONLY by BRAINWASHING the minds of the VERY young. Religion, and like many politicians,is still responsible for millions of deaths amongst mankind.People are generally good and know right from wrong. Therefor, why should we still need an antique book to live a good life? The humans that are strong, take control of the weak, as do animals. At least animals don't fuck each other over for a percentage. God ONLY exists in your MIND!

You show much true evidence for corruption in the church. So then, people ask, "Why should I want/need God when his church is just as ungodly within as without?" People tend to blame bad things on God.The key here is that corruption comes from one being: Satan. Catholicism is partly to blame for the evil practices you show here. It strays dangerously far from the Word and proclaims things that were never in the Bible. Stick to the Word, and the Word alone.
The point is that you do not have to blame god or satan, just those who profit from belief! The church may have had its time when the mind control it creates had its uses. Today however, with real evidence on which we can base and understand our lives and many of the previous questions have found true answers. It is time to let go of superstision which has no basis for belief! The bible contains only disscusions which could be made 1700 years ago and we have moved on!
if the word is so easily corruptible then why follow it? sounds fairly dangerous to me. also... does "the Word" cover the parts in the bible about murdering your children and stoning promiscuous women to death?
The Word is holy. Humans, however, in our sinfulness, twist the Word of God and take it out of context, sometimes even unintentionally.
"For You formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well." ~Psalm 139:13-14 God knows us before we are even conceived. Also, God commands us, "Thou shalt not murder." in Exodus 20:13.
Taking the law into our own hands is sinful, as you correctly imply. God will avenge us in his own omnipotent way - but we are to leave it to him. In certain Old Testament times God commanded his people to punish certain people for certain crimes, but that does not classify as taking the law into one's own hands. It was God instituting a law.
Like I said below, God does give people a chance. Sometimes wiping out a people was the only way to bring more people to Him. Like in Egypt, when the Israelites were captives, He told the Pharaoh to let His people go by sending 10 plagues(the Nile River turned to blood, frogs, gnats, locusts, etc.). But Pharaoh would not listen. So God sent his avenging angel and killed all the firstborn of the Egyptians, including Pharaoh's little son. Then Pharaoh let God's people go.
I want to add that I think your questions are very good and valid, and ones that every Christian struggles with throughout their life. I'm trying my best to help you understand.
Your effort is appreciated, but I think your explanations raise more questions than they provide answers. I totally agree with you (and hopefully most Christians) that the time of the OT is over (although the NT and even Jesus state the opposite, e.g. Matt. 5:17-19). However, if that's the case, why cling to the Ten Commandments? Why not get rid of most parts of the OT with its cruel and inhuman laws? These things just don't seem to fit into modern Christianity.
The Old Testament is God's holy inspired Word, and we are not to edit the Bible's content. 2 Timothy 3:16 - "All scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." The Ten Commandments are still valid today. No human has ever followed them perfectly, or ever will, except Jesus Christ. He shed His innocent blood to atone for the sin of all people - past, present, and future. Believe in Jesus Christ as your savior, and be saved.
Genocide is killing a race of people, and God separated people by their belief or lack thereof in him, whether they were from Israelite lineage or not. God can see into every person's future, and he knows whether they will ever come to faith. Often times he would wipe out those who would never be coming to faith, in order that they would not pollute the believers of all nations. God even struck down his own people at times when they rebelled many times and did not head his warnings.
If God didn't want a believer to get polluted, then why the tree of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil in eden? Also, why wait for them to rebell if God knows everthing, past, present, and future? Keeping them around till they rebelled gives them more time to pollute. Man you're such a...
Adam and Eve, at the time they sinned, were perfect like God. They actually chose to do something they knew was wrong, whereas we possess inherited sin, and we cannot choose not to sin. God waits because He is patient, kind, and wants to give us a chance. Life will be a constant struggle with sin for us. That is why we must not lose sight of our savior and only way to heaven - Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by Grace you have been saved through faith - and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."
If adam and eve were perfect like god, why did they choose to do something wrong? As they were perfect, they would be in a state of bliss and would have no thought of disobeying god. This is just another example of the idiotic logic of christianity. The constant struggle with sin is all in your mind, because there would be no sin if god hadn't made it.......
.....There is socially unacceptable behaviour, and the commandments mention these, but they are pretty obvious to any civilised society so we don't need god or the bible to moderate our behaviour, we just need good sense and good laws, both of which are sadly lacking in countries ruled by religion.
What about abortion? Do you think that is "socially acceptable" behavior? We are commanded not to murder and explicitly told that life begins at conception. Why then do so many snuff out the little lives that God has given them? Is it because those little lives come at an "inconvenient" time? Is that a good reason to kill? Imagine if that had happened to you. You would not be here, having this discussion with me.
because there is no rational proof for any of what you have said. There are rational explanations for most things, and unknowns where we don't know. Christianity on the other hand, makes plausible explanations in some areas, and lies in others.
MissRenoir - Yes, I do find abortion acceptable and I do not appologise for my opinion. The world is overpopulated with the human animal and unwanted births do nothing to stem the tide of recource users. In truth birth control is a much better solution though! Religion tries to grow by indoctrination of its followers children. Many mammal species will reduce the populations of their young when times are hard! This may seem cruel yet nature has no concience only selfish survival.
Satan tempted Eve. He lied to her, and if it wasn't for Satan, Eve would never have sinned, nor Adam after her. Genesis 3 explains, if you would like to read it sometime. All sin comes from Satan. God allowed Satan on the earth to make us realize our sin and put our faith in Jesus Christ. You see, it was all part of His plan, and what a plan it was indeed!
The myth of Adam and Eve makes no sense! If god was omnipotent he already knew they did not know right from wrong and would eat the fruit from the magic tree. The snake took the blame but it was probably the pixies that did it, after all god seemed to be fooled until he saw them wearing clothes ... he prefered naked! Now all humanity is supposed to pay for an invisible deity's mistake!
In the real world of common sense we call this "crap"!
I assume there are many other ways for an omnipotent being to "convince" a Pharaoh of letting God's people go aside from sending plagues and heavenly hitmen. Even my own very limited mind could come up with some ideas that don't involve harming innocents. How about using force fields only penetrable by believers? After all, God shouldn't be limited to the temporal circumstances, so why not use means of science-fiction? Unless, of course, the Bible was conceived by mere mortals.
Was not science fiction conceived by mere mortals? The first four plagues were not directly harmful to humans (water turned to blood, frogs, gnats, flies). God is not limited by temporal things. He set the laws of science in motion, and can bend them as He chooses, as in 2 Kings 20, where He made the sun go backwards as a sign that king Hezekiah would be healed from an otherwise fatal illness.
Let me get this straight ... are you saying that if I "misinterpret" the Bible and then go and kill my neighbor (e.g. because he prefers to worship another deity, which is definitely a "crime" according to the Ten Commandments)I'm committing a sin, but if God appears and TELLS me to kill my neighbor, then it's OK? I don't think so. Face it: God/the Bible both fail to match our social and moral standards. That's why Christians had/have to continually adapt their belief.
The time of the Old Testament is over. I know this is confusing for you (it is for many Christians), but since Christ has come we no longer uphold ceremonial law (i.e., we no longer offer sacrifices). Christ was and is the only needed atonement for sin. I doubt very much that God would tell you to kill your neighbor (He prefers to give people, even unbelievers, a good long chance to come to faith.)God struck down heathen nations because He was trying to teach His people a lesson.
Concerning this last issue of God teaching his people a lesson by striking down heathen nations: imagine a father teaching his son a lesson about the dangers of sharp objects by stabbing other children ... not really a desirable role model, right? And certainly not worthy of worship. Does an omnipotent being really need to resort to violence in order to make his point?
God decreed His will through the prophets. The prophets proclaimed it to the people. There was no question about what God wanted. The people either chose to obey, or disobey. Imagine, rather, a father teaching children to use knives appropriately, and warning them about the sharp points, but they do not heed his warning and in turn begin a fencing match with each other - and in the end, they get hurt.
God wants all men to come to faith in Jesus Christ and be saved. Why? Because it is part of His plan. I have an idea. If you pick a gospel - Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John - and read it through entirely, then I will discuss with you further. I don't have enough room to quote the entire gospel to you, lol. ^.^
I will concede that Christianity, like evolution, requires faith. And you and I are not of the same faiths. Perhaps your time of grace has not yet come. All I can do is direct you to the Word, for I do not know the will of God concerning you. But I pray that you will someday understand and have faith, but that is for someone greater than us all to decide. May God bless you and make your paths straight.
I will have to disagree with you on evolution needing faith as it has evidence from many sources that all reach the same conclusions. I understand that people need the delusion of god but enlightenment can come from understanding if you are curious enough to ask questions.
My heart is saddened by the poison in your words. And yet, you speak truth. If all Christians were perfect like Jesus, they would set a perfect example. But they're not. No one, not even Christians, is perfect. And therefore, undesirable, unbiblical practices have made their way into the church with the help of Satan. When non-believers see these practices, it turns them away from God because they cannot comprehend the salvation-by-faith-alone concept; they only think of salvation as by works.
Christians are VERY hypocritical, BUT, I myself follow Christ, and I agree with the oversized church and stuff..but In terms of a God who supports these bad things, it's ONLY because we support sin, and if you notice, he doesn't support murder in any sense, turn the other cheek and stuff...Christ wants a relationshup with us, we're never going to be "good enough" for him, so that's why we have Christ
as one having christian beliefs... (smacks forehead)
don't take a book written thousands of years ago by primitive people to be the ultimate authority on god. only a compilation of art, history, opinion, documentation that now tells us what they thought then. OBVIOUSLY if god, being a perfect being by definition, exists, then he doesn't demand such things. this video is pointless. see comment below me.
I agree, of course that the bible is wrong! however the point is that millions do not and it is only pointless to us that realise this. Have you considered atheism?
yes i've considered it. an agnostic theists point of view will do fine for me. either we can construct a model for something that doesn't require being created(exists outside our universe, or the material realm entirely), or we are in fact nothing more than the result of a big bang and tedious evolution, in which case either we will die as nothing more than a blink of life, or we are the one existing, growing, most perfect entity there will ever be.
Yeah the man get G's for his beats man Y'all ain't heard? Ha! dude Ain't nothing happened to me, man I been right under you all the time, watchin you Five long motherfuckin years!

MissRenoir 3 years ago
It's a perplexing question--where did satan's desires come from?

Good point!
Darwinsgift 3 years ago
The myth of Adam and Eve makes no sense! If god was omnipotent he already knew they did not know right from wrong and would eat the fruit from the magic tree. The snake took the blame but it was probably the pixies that did it, after all god seemed to be fooled until he saw them wearing clothes ... he prefered naked! Now all humanity is supposed to pay for an invisible deity's mistake!
In the real world of common sense we call this "crap"!

@MissRenoir:
AaronReiko 3 years ago
Was not science fiction conceived by mere mortals? The first four plagues were not directly harmful to humans (water turned to blood, frogs, gnats, flies). God is not limited by temporal things. He set the laws of science in motion, and can bend them as He chooses, as in 2 Kings 20, where He made the sun go backwards as a sign that king Hezekiah would be healed from an otherwise fatal illness.

Or a filthy, corrupt institution posing and playing as god.
Torchmark 3 years ago
Let me get this straight ... are you saying that if I "misinterpret" the Bible and then go and kill my neighbor (e.g. because he prefers to worship another deity, which is definitely a "crime" according to the Ten Commandments)I'm committing a sin, but if God appears and TELLS me to kill my neighbor, then it's OK? I don't think so. Face it: God/the Bible both fail to match our social and moral standards. That's why Christians had/have to continually adapt their belief.
AaronReiko 3 years ago
The time of the Old Testament is over. I know this is confusing for you (it is for many Christians), but since Christ has come we no longer uphold ceremonial law (i.e., we no longer offer sacrifices). Christ was and is the only needed atonement for sin. I doubt very much that God would tell you to kill your neighbor (He prefers to give people, even unbelievers, a good long chance to come to faith.)God struck down heathen nations because He was trying to teach His people a lesson.
MissRenoir 3 years ago
Of course god wouldn't tell you to kill your neighbour. his uttewr non existence would prevent him wouldn't it?
mikewabbit1 3 years ago
Concerning this last issue of God teaching his people a lesson by striking down heathen nations: imagine a father teaching his son a lesson about the dangers of sharp objects by stabbing other children ... not really a desirable role model, right? And certainly not worthy of worship. Does an omnipotent being really need to resort to violence in order to make his point?
AaronReiko 3 years ago
God decreed His will through the prophets. The prophets proclaimed it to the people. There was no question about what God wanted. The people either chose to obey, or disobey. Imagine, rather, a father teaching children to use knives appropriately, and warning them about the sharp points, but they do not heed his warning and in turn begin a fencing match with each other - and in the end, they get hurt.

Ezekiel 18:32 - "'For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone,' declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!"
MissRenoir 3 years ago
MissRenoir - Perhaps you should answer the question in the video! What does God want? .. and why?
Darwinsgift 3 years ago
God wants all men to come to faith in Jesus Christ and be saved. Why? Because it is part of His plan. I have an idea. If you pick a gospel - Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John - and read it through entirely, then I will discuss with you further. I don't have enough room to quote the entire gospel to you, lol. ^.^
MissRenoir 3 years ago
Now look at your answer, and you will see that inserting the words "His plan" is the same as inserting the words "I have no idea!"
Darwinsgift 3 years ago
I will concede that Christianity, like evolution, requires faith. And you and I are not of the same faiths. Perhaps your time of grace has not yet come. All I can do is direct you to the Word, for I do not know the will of God concerning you. But I pray that you will someday understand and have faith, but that is for someone greater than us all to decide. May God bless you and make your paths straight.
MissRenoir 3 years ago
I will have to disagree with you on evolution needing faith as it has evidence from many sources that all reach the same conclusions. I understand that people need the delusion of god but enlightenment can come from understanding if you are curious enough to ask questions.
Darwinsgift 3 years ago
> it is part of His plan - pick a gospel - Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John - and read it through entirely, then I will discuss with you further.
So the plan is patriarchy, sexism, racism, speciesism, slavery, homophobia, fear, guilt and war?
That doesn't seem like a very good plan imo.
TheStrangeRanger 3 years ago
My heart is saddened by the poison in your words. And yet, you speak truth. If all Christians were perfect like Jesus, they would set a perfect example. But they're not. No one, not even Christians, is perfect. And therefore, undesirable, unbiblical practices have made their way into the church with the help of Satan. When non-believers see these practices, it turns them away from God because they cannot comprehend the salvation-by-faith-alone concept; they only think of salvation as by works.
xtearsofpearlsx 3 years ago
Christians are VERY hypocritical, BUT, I myself follow Christ, and I agree with the oversized church and stuff..but In terms of a God who supports these bad things, it's ONLY because we support sin, and if you notice, he doesn't support murder in any sense, turn the other cheek and stuff...Christ wants a relationshup with us, we're never going to be "good enough" for him, so that's why we have Christ
JohnWhiting21 4 years ago
as one having christian beliefs... (smacks forehead)
don't take a book written thousands of years ago by primitive people to be the ultimate authority on god. only a compilation of art, history, opinion, documentation that now tells us what they thought then. OBVIOUSLY if god, being a perfect being by definition, exists, then he doesn't demand such things. this video is pointless. see comment below me.
arknihil 4 years ago
I agree, of course that the bible is wrong! however the point is that millions do not and it is only pointless to us that realise this. Have you considered atheism?
Darwinsgift 4 years ago
yes i've considered it. an agnostic theists point of view will do fine for me. either we can construct a model for something that doesn't require being created(exists outside our universe, or the material realm entirely), or we are in fact nothing more than the result of a big bang and tedious evolution, in which case either we will die as nothing more than a blink of life, or we are the one existing, growing, most perfect entity there will ever be.
arknihil 4 years ago
the pursuit of that perfection may be beneficial, what can you say about the lack thereof?
arknihil 4 years ago
Humanity seems to pursue improvement yet I doubt perfection would be realised even if achieved! lol
Darwinsgift 4 years ago
actually it DOES make a good few points so it does have a point

I wouldn't bother going to the bible to understaind their god. All I ever get is a headache.

Perhaps God's intelligence is so different from ours that there is a very good reason for unconditional, jealous love?
Or perhaps this is just a convenient belief for the clergy to propagate to further their own interests, as you say;)
