  • 2:14 what the name of the background song?

  • I really liked the original movie (I am in love with the desert), but I knew this would be a disappointment kpfrom the 1st poster.

  • God, people are still confusing 6/10 for the equivalent of hating a film? To anal fans of this movie, 6/10 is a PASS!!!!! Be glad he didn't give it a failing score like everyone else out there.

  • WOAH WOAH WOAH, DID I JUST HEAR THE SPY?"

  • Ze spy! :DD

  • i new cars 2 would be like this great animation but faulty in the story line i actually liked cars but i had a feeling cars 2 would be as good and what happened to sally and everybody else did they add on to that story line

  • Well, It was bound to happen sooner or latter. I'm just glad that instead of a more original idea, it was a sequel and to what is perhaps Pixar's most OVERRATED FILM TO DATE! What makes Cars more popular than Finding Nemo, the Incredibles, or Up? They all won the Academy award for best animated feature while Cars was only nominated. (It lost to Happy Feet).

  • (Continued) Although the reason why I think this is because I'm way more of a video game fan. Movies are just a once in a while thing for me. At least you didn't hate on something that more people liked like I tend to do (Like The Legend of Zelda).

  • Personally I think you have your expectations set too high. That's just me. I think it's an average film like you do but I just think it's more slightly above average. I've never seen a spy movie (yes I know it's sad) so I can't say if it's cliche or not but even if it is I really don't care too much. Unless it's something super cliche. When I go watch a film I don't expect it to be a masterpiece I do expect it to be fun and entertaining and Cars 2 is for me.

  • The first movie in my opinion is better than the second one. If they hadn't brought in the whole gas and oil deal I would have been fine. Ugh why can't there be more movies that just entertain you instead of trying to shove Eco messages in our face?

  • I say this is the most VIOLENT film Disney ever made!!!

  • @IndianaJonesfans09 Than you obviously haven't seen The Black Cauldron or Pirates of the Caribbean!

  • @NCfanboy1 or the hunchback of notre dame.

  • @KnightChameleon42 It wasn't THAT violent!

  • @NCfanboy1 Oh. Sorry about that.

  • I have a feeling Brave will amazing because I felt the Pixar magic in that 1 minute trailer, then I did with the this movie. There is only one thing to ask what movie will win best animated feature this year.

  • In this movie they gave Mater machine guns, am I the only one who finds that kinda disturbing?

  • on a scale of one to 10, Cars 2 should be a negative one million, and that being too nice.

  • I actually enjoyed this movie a lot and I didn't find it to be a truly bad film.

  • I couldn't agree more! Even Rio was better than this shitty ass excuse for a sequel! Pixar better step up their A-game with Brave!

  • Did John Lasseter help make Finding Nemo?

Yeah I agree, I saw the teaser for Brave and I thought the girl's character design looked undeveloped but I'm still hoping it will be awesome. I didn't like Cars 1 (in fact I never finished it)

I never plan on watching Cars 2 (Mater wasn't funny, I found him annoying 100% of the time)

  • i really hope brave to be good

  • Ok...I actually enjoyed this movie a lot...and I would've given at least a 7 or 8...but for animation, that deserved a 10!!!

  • @ElectricDragon505 Look dude, I respect you and all, and I still think your cool, but WHAT THE HECK!?! I loved Cars and Cars 2! The jokes in Cars 2 were really funny and the characters were great, though Hollie Shiftwell was a pretty underdeveloped character. Everyones entitled to their opinion so no offense.

  • How was the first Cars the worst pixar film ? It did get postive review and did well in the box office, but it is your opinion, not that I agree with you, but respect it.

  • @Neoguest There's a difference between saying a film isn't as good as the others and saying it's bad. I don't think Animat ever said it was a bad movie. He's just saying the story wasn't as strong as the others from Pixar.

  • I didn't hate Cars 2, but I didn't love it. I took it f or what it was, and that's a kid's movie about cars being spies.

I hate to put it down, but the plot was really predictable and I honestly stopped caring at about the halfway mark. I knew who the villian was, and just wanted to see them reveal it already.

  • the part at the very end scared me

  • I found this movie really enjoyable and better then the first one! Yeah, it's a kids movie, but I enjoy watching them with my family.... 8/10 :)

  • 6/10, fair enough. I personal would give it about 7/10, but I totally understand where you were going with this.

  • "What the fridge?"

    LOL

  • The idea of making a spy movie with Cars was a bad idea on it's own. And to be fair, Brave just plain looks dark. Who's the director of it? Tim Burton? :3

  • To those complaining about Animat being "too hard" on the film, keep in mind most people would be giving this movie negative scores. At least Animat gave it a passing grade. Can't you people at least be happy with that!?

  • to be fair, John Lasseter's the co-director. And glad you mentioned "Man Called Flintstone," cause that's all i imagined when they first released this film!

  • it's like Pixar purposely threw their reputation into the incinerator they created in Toy Story 3 by making this movie. it was bad but not as bad as i thought.

    1. 2D or 3D?

    2D or 3D?

    2D or 3D ?

    2. can you review the man called flintstone?

  • If you REALLY think about it Animat, Monster Movie Parody is to Monsters Vs Aliens as Spy Movie Parody is to Cars 2...I think that was their intention, but people expect so much from Disney they can't have a light chuckle??

  • @The38Dodge Don't expect an Incredibles sequel for at least 5 yrs.

  • Im sure Pixar is warranted at least ONE film of raw enjoyment. I hate how most slammed the film the moment it appeared in the doorway :((

  • I never saw the first Cars, but I think you made it clear that there is not much for older fans to pull for.

  • So...they HAVE to do something groundbreaking every time?

  • polyrhythm!!!!1

  • "What the fridge!" best line evar

  • I will take this particular piece of green propaganda on DVD from the library, thank you.

  • i'm disapointed. Cars is my favourit pixar movie and i like this movie too, i don't care that its a kids movie, even though im 16 i still love it and watch to this day so ill give the first movie 9/10 and this movie the same.

  • "What the fridge?" LOL that made me laugh. Anyway, when I was younger Cars never interested me at all and I was disappointed to hear there was a sequel...

I hope you do a Winnie the Pooh review - way better and heartwarming and cute!

  • 6/10 ain't bad, is your next review going to be for Winnie the Pooh ?

  • Yeah Brave better be amazing. Even though i didn't see the movie Cars 2.

  • The scenes that has Doc.

  • Hey!!! I Love Cars!!! I was blown away from the second one!!! I think that Pixar did a fantasic job!!!

  • The plot of the first Cars is Used plot threads from Doc Hollywood and Days of Thunder & the sequel used plot elements from The World Is Not Enough and North By Northwest.

On Rotten Tomatoes the first one got a rating of 75% and Certified Freash and the sequel (I'm not joking) got 36%.

  • Sorry about that that Disney pixar and really all the animated studios are suffering from now is that they are too focused on kids and don't seem to being putting much in sucking them in. And I hate it when animated films think kids are morons who don't care about story. I'm a kid of the 90 s but it won't hurt you guys to make animated movies that are slightly more intelligent and original and well mature. Not xxx mature but in a way teens and adults can actually enjoy the movie as well

  • I think one of the problems

  • I really love Cars 2, Finn Mcmissle is my favorite character.

  • *heavy voice* HA! CAR IS SPY! EES FUNNY TO ME.

  • Don't worry about Brave, it's an original fantasy type film by Pixar so it's got a WAAAAAY better chance at succeeding than Cars 2 did.

  • 6/10

    WAY higher then most people

    You sir, are my lord.

  • wouldn't it be better if they made the incredibles 2?

  • Some people theorize that they made this film bad on purpose so no one will want to see anymore Cars movies, which is basically a franchise based purely on merchandise, unlike the other Pixar films, and they can focus on the films that they really care about.

  • Wait till you see my review.

  • As I've stated in response to other reviews, the reason I hate this film is because it was made by Pixar, and yes, I feel a little shallow for that. I feel if Dreamworks made it, I could have forgiven the mediocrity. (I thought Pixar was above "your mom" jokes... seriously) What's more is that the spy angle and the race subplot don't really go together. If Pixar's gotta go a spy angle, great, but make it an original film, not a part of the Cars franchise.

  • A good review. I can't say I hated Cars, but I still enjoyed it. It wasn't as spectacular as the other Disney/Pixar films, but it was still enjoyable and entertaining. Cars 2 doesn't look like it will be anything special. True, it widens the environment by having new locations, which is great, but it just doesn't really leave much of an impression on me. I do hope that Brave will be better.

BTW, great Team Fortress 2 joke at the end. You play the game as well?

  • Heavy says " Car is a spy!!!"

  • i love cars 2

  • As Soon as I saw this video in my Inbox, i sighed and said "Oh Boy".

  • @121jakethesnake Me too xD Sometimes if you disagree with an opinion you have to bite the bullet and just listen.

I think Cars 2 was enjoyable, true not one of Pixar's stronger films; this is probably their weakest. The original Cars was a heart-felt project for Mr. Lasseter; it was his baby. He made the film great. He even explained why he wanted to make this movie. Pixar only gets half the toy profits due to their partnership, so I don't think they did soley for the money.
