I was in the Wonderland house for quite a time in the last several years with the same owner who owned it in the summer of 1981. I was able to inspect the house from stem to stern. I knew all the players and researched this home for a while. When I went out to Laurel Canyon, I was hoping just to see it. Upon arrival I noticed a "For Lease" sign and I knew we had to make an appointment to see it. The owner told us that it was purchased from an old screen actor who's name escapes me.
the guy who built a house on the land where the tate home was actually appeared on ghost hunters, he claimed the house was haunted. I am not sure if ghost hunters is actually real or not but they did capture some strange things

Manson "visited" Terry at the Cielo house on several occasion to shop a music deal. Terry pulled out of the deal after witnessing Mason (while in a drunken rage) brutalizing, almost killing a person at the Spahn Ranch; Manson was angry and wanted retribution, and picked that home on purpose.

@zevall77 Roman didn't buy it. He was in Europe working on a movie, when Sharon decided to rent it from Rudi Altobelli. She only lived there from 2 weeks prior to the murders. After that Rudi lived there with his family for many happy years. Finally he sold it (in the nineties) and now the new house stands there.
Firstly, Polanski RENTED the house, and after the murders,3 weeks later! the OWNER fearlessly moved right in and lived there for another 20 years after which is sold the home. Secondly, Manson did know who lived there because he visited the home looking for the previous renter ( Doris Day's son..Terry Melcher who was a music producer) but didn't care...

A smaller version of the former Tate house used to sit on the lot at 10048 Cielo, but was demolished several years ago. In this video you see the new home construction at that address.

Hi mansfield! Yep, the mansion where the Tate home was is so oversized for the lot it's a joke, & it looks even worse with all the vegetation gone. All that concrete-ugh! The Tate home & grounds were far more lovely; however, I could never have lived in that house after the murders. I've wondered if the Tate home was hard to sell after the murders. On the other hand, it was occupied for over 20 yrs after the murders before it was demolished. Eeek! How could anyone sleep there at night!!??
Hi ! Well, believe it or not Rudy Altobelli moved back in after the murders and lived there till 1991 ! He maintains nothing strange ever happened, and that it was always a serene and peaceful surrounding. But when Marilyn Manson was staying there, he found it a bit unnerving at night.. I'm sure I would !! The guy who lives ,I think 3 doors down claims his house it haunted by the victims , great selling point for his movie !

Don't know if i commented on this post but I know that Trent Reznor of NIN filmed a video there (w/Marilyn Manson) and had lots of house guests of the 90's era who all stayed, partied and hung out there to make the album that made him famous. They destroyed the house shortly after Reznor moved out in 94. He took the infamous PIG door & as the tale goes it got destroyed in Katrina.
