'24 Horas" closing theme in the last news cast in Spain 1970's. I will never forget the song playing while la Cibeles will show at night with cars going around it while they were ending the tv for the night.
this song is just way to pretty, it kinda suck's cause there's like no comparison nothing even close .where you go from here, besides crazy love by Poco or Aimy, by pure prairie league?? kinda same style of song but need more suggestions. anybody???
@iamchechee thank for the suggestion.not really what i was looking for though. love fleetwood to. as a hole like them way better than elp but.... this song is hard to beat for what it is. try crazy love by "Poco" 7 bridges rd "eagles" or aimy by" pure prairie league" you'll see what i'm looking for those are close and i know there's more out there just drawing a blank for now. u got anything else?
@klschmidt just payed close attention to that tonight myself ??? and yea... it was damn good bass line. wish there were more bass lines out there that can be "heard" and not just felt. actually thought the bass was alot more melodic than what you generally hear for bass. this song is like a super song. it never gets old 10 times at least tonight and still "need" to hear it again !
@musicmanron1969 This track is for me a drug I need at times. I go into a spiritual dimension for a few exquisite minutes. I then emerge refreshed for the next battle life has for me.
I was born about 15 yrs too late.I arrived in '76 but feel more drawn to this era and time. There's a reason this music stands the test of time.It was crafted and performed with passion and with deeper meaning. There is still good music out there but nothing compares with this era in music.
,,,Emerson Lake & Palmer, Prog Rock British Band Legend, From The Beginning,Trilogy, Exellent Guitar Acoustic Greg Lake With Hard Classic Rock Keyboard Keith Emerson, Nice n Deep ,Album Trilogy Five Stars Rating To Hard Rock Progrresive Albums, Long Long Live To Rock, ,,Muchas Gracias,,,,,
one of my all time favorite songs...............there is a quality to this song that is "surrounding"........like it just wraps itself around, and deep within you...........haunting and magnificent...........thanks for posting.........beautiful acoustic quality
@StoppieStudios its nowhere near rounabout the structure and time signature is completley different, but i can see how it can be mistaken to the untrained ear
Timeless music. Beautiful. "We were meant to be here...from the beginning." That is a true spiritual statement. Many people believe we made a conscious decision when we were in spirit form to incarnate in this physical body at this time.
This song haunted the melancholia of my first college days. It was my roomates album, and I had "Lucky Man", George went into wild conniptions on an air Moog. From that first wild week and "Saturday in the Park" blaring thru high powered stereos at the dorm parties, to late night coffee at the Barf & Gag and "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", I soon started to have that nightmare where I'd forgotten to go to a class all term, From the Beginning. We're finally on our own, familiar apeture and me.
Great song. Dokken did an acoustic remake of this that really did it justice. Didn't stray far from the original feel this one has, although I would agree that it never needed to be remade, it stands as is to this day.
This is what I classify as a "rainy day" song, a song 4 days when the rain falls gently all day, & the coolness of the rain blows softly thru open windows. These r days when silence really is golden because it's the only way you'll hear all it has to offer. Songs like From the Beginning, Guinnevere (Crosby, Stills, & Nash), & Can't Do a Thing (Chris Isaak) enhance days like this, but the irony is that these days & these songs stand on their own & speak for themselves in the best possible way. :)
@Jonnobaas What a coincidence. Same time frame I moved from Seattle. To Cali though, not NY. First half of my sophomore year at Franklin High. A lot of amazing music came out of that time. To me, a lot of ELP is just noise, but when they hit, like this song, and Still You Turn Me On, it was era defining. Truly "progressive" rock as it was called then. Summer of '71 there was an FM pirate radio station off the coast, broadcasting on weekends. Only place to hear ELP, Pink Floyd, Zappa, etc.
Guess I survived the 70's...Yes this is one of the beautiful songs but if you have time try the rest of ELP's songs...They billed themselves as neo-clasical musicians...Without justice?... :). 'The Great Gates of Kiev' springs to mind although must admit that I prefer the original Mussorsky...The etherial voice of Greg Lake is irreplaceable?
such art ...true art way ahead of its time

High school in the 70's... what a wonderful time to be young and alive. The music was so much interwoven into our lives. I miss those years.

@silverbirdsong great! It reminds me of George AFB -1972--, living in the barracks, and the surrounding Mojave desert.
