@ani415: Thank you! Bristol has turned into a beautiful girl. Everywhere we go, she gets compliments and she loves it. She is almost four years old now and 90 pounds. She loves everyone, especially children. I tell her she is a good ambassador for the breed.
@ xthatguyjx - docking tails is painful to the animal. It's exactly like cutting half of one of your fingernails off, then bumping it into things, or having some one else bump it all the time. Ask any veterinarian and they will tell you the same. Puppies do feel this for weeks after the tail is removed, whether they bump it when they sit down, or other puppies bump it while in the same area. Germany, England, & all of Europe consider docking tails to be inhumane & illegal, with heavy fines.
Your dog is absolutely beautiful and very lucky to have been adopted by such lovely people. I have a 7 month old Rottweiler called Molly, she has a tail but we bought her at 8 weeks - She is my best friend and soooo obedient its unreal... Rottweilers are such amazing dogs in the right hands. Molly is leggy and lean like your dog too and measured today is at 24inches which is pretty tall already for a girlie (she was the runt so we were kinda expecting her to be the smallest one)
Yes they continue growing up to 2 years... They can get over weight if not properly fed. But after 2 years old they have all ready reached full maturity
Bristol is very tall and lean. I think she must have some American Rottie in her lineage somewhere. She doesn't have a big head either. She's two years old and 85 pounds now, and still very lean. The vet says she's the perfect weight for her frame. Very beautiful dog.
hmm shes really beutiful, but shemales rotties aint going to be that big as the males, and there head isnt that big either, so :) dont worry, she looks perfectly fit to :D ty for the video, was awsome :)
@rebel94m Rottweilers are excellent family pets. Bristol LOVES children and other dogs. However, they can be stubborn and they are so strong that you really need to train them properly. And they need to be exercised, otherwise they can get overweight, which isn't good for their hips or knees, and they can get bored, which isn't good for the furniture or the yard. Haha! They take a bit of work, but it is so worth it.

@joannafaulkner79 The most important thing is slow & steady growth. The average Rottweiler male puppy...at 4 months is often a bit less then 40 lbs or around 40 lbs...at 5 month around 50 lbs, 6 month 60lbs,etc....till about 9 months of age...then they tend to slow down and gain weight and grow slower. Genetics is a big part of it...and depends on how the sire and dam grew as well as grandsire and grandam. Worms tend to affect their growth and ability to absorb nutrition from their food.
I totally agree with you. I adopted Bristol from an animal shelter and the previous owners had her tail removed. I really wanted to adopt a Rottie with a tail, but when I met Bristol, it was love at first sight. Tail or not.
And that's how easy it is to change one's mind once you actually see all the animals. It doesn't really matter if you're specific with one thing. In your case the tail <3
docking a tail is as in-humane as circumcising a male child. its done practically at birth, the animal is not in pain. Rottie tails are very susceptible to injury hence the docking. get over yourself
First off GOD didnt make Rotts! Man did! I always think it is funny how someone will look at a dog with cropped ears or docked tail and say how inhumane it is, then you look down at their dogs and its balls are missing. I have a Boxer and a Rott, the boxer has a docked tail and cropped ears and the Rott has a docked tail, I would not want it any other way. If someone does not wish to enhance the look of their dog that is fine but dont be a wuss about it when other people choose to.
This is lovely! I used to work as shelter supervisor for HSHV and I still love stumbling across yet another "happy tail" from there! Looks like Bristol chose a great home to fall in love with!

i don't like people maiming their dogs. if God wanted rotties without tails he'd not have outfitted them with one.
