vicente was here 14 years old ,I know this bycause I was there whit him and many night,s we went out to the disco toghter in san lucar de barremeda ,litlle vilage on the beach and river
quadalquivir, and after this we went togheter to amsterdam ,holland and over there hi did his first dubut on television in sonia goed nieuws sjow.
Aloof, staring off into the distance...yup, that's Vicente Amigo in the back alright! It's great to see him move on up to God-like status in the world of Flamenco.
I like how Manolo Sanlucar plays with his eyes closed most of the time...sheer genius..
Wow this is great! To see a young Vicente with his teacher, 3 guitars playing together.I can see Vicente already playing in the higher positions. Why does Manolo's fretboard look so wide?
I discovered flamenco, especially cante jondo, in the early 60's, along with the bull fights down in Tijuana. Flamenco was "in the closet" at the time, in a manner of speaking. That is, one couldn't just turn on the radio and hear Paco. I did find Manitas, however. Had the 3 LP set for years in pristine condition. Finally sent it to the Gipsy Kings a few months ago for their archives.
He must be using pork greese to slide down the fret board...Then again, he could be using "Slick 50." Or maybe 3 in 1 oil...I like using linseed oil myself...It's great for the wood.
@soleamania speaks the truth!! Save yourself before it's to late!! I listened to Paco de Lucia and his friends just a few times too many. Seriously, they completely destroyed my 50 year old world view of music. Now except for them everybody sucks. Even my jazz guitar heroes of 40+ years just don't sound the same anymore...
Yes, also Isidro figures on "La fuente de lo jondo" with Vicente and Manuel Moreno Maya, el Pele. I also have a recording from TVE of el Pele with Isidro and Vicente together playing por bulerias in a wine cellar. Sanlúcar is a town in Cádiz better known as Sanlúcar de Barrameda. That is where they take their stage name.
This is Manolo's Brother. Their father was also named ISIDRO. I did not know he named his son that, but I heard that his son died. So his brother is respected as a prolific composer. Check out the movie "Flamenco" by Carlos Saura, and Duquende's Album Samaruco. But his name comes up a lot. Isidro Muñoz is his real name.
this bulerias tiene alma! amigo and sanlucar together fenominal! by the way the guitarist in the middle[isidro} is manolos son.I see a bright future for him!

Ramirez made some big guitars, 671 scale and such. Plus Manolo has got some small hands. Really it is just an optical illusion of the camera angle.
