I never understood how it worked for the wii... I'm an old school ddr gamer from the ps and ps2 days, and when I saw they had shit for the wii I was confused cuz I saw u have to use the wii mote... I'm so lost and I feel so old but the songs in this game are so cute! :3

You can turn off hand gestures in the game options, so the Wii remote is not required. I turn them off sometimes myself, if I'm having one of those sessions where my hand movements seem to be off somewhat, and as I mention in my video on my channel showing Step In Time, I like turning off hand gestures for that just due to the spirit of the song.

Still, it does add a nice additional element to the game.

Unfortunately, this game was discontinued sometime last year. So the only way to get it is used (or from resellers who have new old stock. When I was on my quest to put together two sets of this game for two sets of nephews and nieces for Christmas, I found the best and least expensive way was to order online used from Gamestop, and then score the pads cheap at either Goodwill or someplace like eBay. That is less pricey than trying to buy the bundle version from a reseller.

Additionally, be wary of the pads you get for this. The stock Konami pads, the pad from DDR: Mario Mix, and these pueple MadCatz Beat Pads are confirmed to work great with the Wii DDR games. (I highly recommend the Beat Pads. One pad that I have confirmed will not work is the React Professional Dancepad RTU88. It's a universal pad for X-Box, PS1, PS2, and GameCube, but it does not work with the Wii, which is a shame, since it is otherwise a pretty nice high quality pad.

I just listened to the intro of all the songs, and they, of course, used one of the best songs off the list in the trailer. So many of them are so horribly remixed that if people heard those songs they would not want to buy it... though I did like some of the remixes, they should have just stuck with the originals, or if they had to remake them do remakes that were very close to the originals.
