This game looks badass. I recently got the very first Splinter Cell for PS2 for 5 bucks at a store and I loved it. I'm probably gonna end up getting this. People said it's short, is this true?

All I'm say, is that if the developers really wanted to give newcomers to the series a look into Sam's past, they at least could have done it in a cut-scene or short epiloge; NOT center a whole level around it and then take out every aspect of what makes Splinter Cell well... Splinter Cell. Please excuse my rantings, I have beaten this game at least 10 times and that is the ONE annoyance about the game that i have been wanting to get off my chest for a while now. I will NOT buy this again.
Fair warning, the WORST mission in the whole game is the Iraq/Afghanistan mission because there is not ONE element of the splinter cell series in that level. By that I mean there is No stealth kills, No Mark and Execute option and No silenced weapons. I mean honestly, for those of us who have been true to the splinter cell franchise, we already knew that Sam was in the military, and to top it all off your not even Sam in that level your his long-time friend from his military days Dick lastname.
for everyone complaining about the whole unreal engine my opinion shut the fuck up this game looks amazeing graphically there's no way any of this could have been created on old xbox plus it looks better than all four of the previous games combined. in my opinion splinter cell never disappoints when it come to graphics period it only get's better. it's just the game that disapoints in someway because it's a different game.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Retribution next year hopfully that will be better will see what Ubi Soft Toronto can bring to the table that Montreal and Shanghi has n't already broght thay say it will be produced by jade raymond the one who work on assations creed so hopefully they can bring back the stealth because assasin's creed had stealth even tho it's no splinter cell so will see.

When i played it i was all stealthy and stuff and killed every person of a room without alarming anyone at all!!(just need a series of sneaking up behind people and pressing B for stealth kill and head shots with a silenced gun)

Nice gameplay, but I would enjoy this game even more by leaving the weapons apart and do more fist fights and neck breakings xD I will buy this game looks great.

With conviction Splinter cell has become an action game instead of a stealth game.

@1996Prashant splinter cell evolved into action, now speed is stealth, i'm sure they're gonna have more stealthier slow paced splinter cell games in the future but to be honest a lot of people are most likely gonna get tired of the same old stuff. so i think i think that making this a little more fast paced is a bold move for the franchise, but damn they literally executed it smoothly. i downloaded the demo today, and keep telling myself why i haven't gotten this game yet =)

It got pretty average reviews on Metacritic (accumulating scores from IGN, Gamesport, you name it) and veers away from the REAL Splinter Cell, which is all about stealth play and a good plot.
This is just another third person shooter with a 50+ year old Sam Fisher hanging from ledges in speeds 20 year olds couldn't do. Throw all previous realism out of the window.Boo.

This is Fisher with superpower?! I think it sucks that he can move that fast and shot people that fast (is there autoaim on or what?) when stealthing. The best thing about the first splinters cell games, were that you had to take everything slow, and easy. Patience was really important. You can definitely see thats not the case anymore. Now its just like other games, a quick in and out, bang bang

I prefer the older splinter cells where u have to hide bodies and be much more stealthy. anyway conviction is a good game though, but definatly no the best Splinter cell.

@1996Prashant Well if you think about it Fisher said "he wasn't hiding anymore" in the trailer and the guy is angry, do you really expect him to be hiding bodies? I mean the game is still stealth, you get more "props" for that but it's really about revenge this time.

@1996Prashant splinter cell evolved into action, now speed is stealth, i'm sure they're gonna have more stealthier slow paced splinter cell games in the future but to be honest a lot of people are most likely gonna get tired of the same old stuff. so i think i think that making this a little more fast paced is a bold move for the franchise, but damn they literally executed it smoothly. i downloaded the demo today, and keep telling myself why i haven't gotten this game yet =)

It's a good game, the interrogation thing is bad-ass but the game seems short. I hope not, but I feel like after 1 day I'm already halfway through the game.

I have both a PS3 and Xbox360 and I don't want this.
It got pretty average reviews on Metacritic (accumulating scores from IGN, Gamesport, you name it) and veers away from the REAL Splinter Cell, which is all about stealth play and a good plot.
This is just another third person shooter with a 50+ year old Sam Fisher hanging from ledges in speeds 20 year olds couldn't do. Throw all previous realism out of the window.Boo.

@Person13572468 harder you can't be serious this is by gfar the easiestsplinter cell to date and there is no stealth to speak of also you cab choose as the developers insist your forced to fight very often. if you call it stealth to kill everyone in the room youre forgetting that the body's willl be found stealth is doing your mission and nobody in the beuilding even knew you where there ore is gonna know. conviction is a good action game but an awful splinter cell.

This is Fisher with superpower?! I think it sucks that he can move that fast and shot people that fast (is there autoaim on or what?) when stealthing. The best thing about the first splinters cell games, were that you had to take everything slow, and easy. Patience was really important. You can definitely see thats not the case anymore. Now its just like other games, a quick in and out, bang bang
