@banyera There is a french version of this song, by Johnny Hallyday. It's called "Noir c'est noir" (Black is black). This guy also covered "House of the rising sun" from The animals, the french version is called "Les portes du pétinencier".

Tony, Thanks so much for posting this! The pop song covers she did around this era (1967--1968) become her own with her fantastic phrasing and vocal flourishes. I just ordered the whole album from an eBay seller and can't wait to get it.
