I think Maria is a wonderful life coach. I went to her after I lost my job and I really enjoy her approach. She is a ver open minded person who actually has alot in common with me. I am very glad I met her and will continue to talk to her because unlike other people she actually can keep your thoughts to herself!

Quick to judge. I had just realized the error of my ways and would've removed my rash comments, esp. about the exotic dancing industry, & gone away quietly. I remembered too late that you have nothing better to do than swoop down and protect a dormant thread about an old project before you even have the comments read to you. You have the right to think, do and say whatever you want. If you prefer to be constantly medicated to deal with your issues, and continue seeing a 'psychiatrist', 2x per week for the next 10 years, well, that's up to you.

Some people prefer a different route that is less expensive and more rewarding--

life coaching.

The Hendricks Institute of Ojai, California is a non-accredited workshop. Although the couple who run it apparently have legitimate pHd's, the Institute itself has no academic credentials. Graduating from their program may be personally rewarding but certification from this program is not recognized by any accredited college or governmental body.

It doesn't matter how much training and study are involved with these workshops, the diplomas are still strictly for decorating a wall.

Is there any other industry with a bigger potential for fraud than the self-help sector? Aren't most life coaches so high on their own sense of empowerment that they refuse to let their debatable (or non-existent) professional credentials get in the way of charging money for their "expertise?" Wouldn't at least SOME of their clients find it it more beneficial to consult a qualified psychologist?

lol... A person can change their life, but it can't happen overnight, and at least a mild amount of violence and intimidation is needed in this "fight." Life is struggle. Most people are pure scum, which is why I suggest at least having violence available when needed. I love and hate pretty much freely. I'm very comfortable with it.

If your self esteem is low, do something you can legitimately feel proud about. Don't just trick yourself into "loving yourself" for no real reason. No bogus Oprah book authors with overpriced workshops will tell you that. And if you ever saw the dumps this gal still strips in (in her 40s, bless her heart), you'd wonder why her self-esteem is so freaking high! Never purchase mental health advice from someone who is permanently out to lunch.
