  • Beautiful...

  • id love to throw a brick on one and watch it sinc lol

  • thousands of them are now here in miami

  • This stinger can reach up to 33' or 10 meters, so stay way away and out of the water while they're in town.

  • what if you pop them up?

  • i wish it had popped

  • so if i take a pin then pop it would that be considered animal abuse...0.0

  • this thing is hardly a "man-of-war".

  • What kind is it?

  • The perfect example of a bunch of different animals that live with each other for survival...if you don't understand, look up "Portugese man of war" on Google.

  • wait I don't get it ..

    it died? lol

  • thats beatiful...

  • IT HAS BLUE HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Canadiarockmusic Maybe it's Coraline lol

  • There were 3 washed up on a beach in north carolina。 We took sticks of driftwood and poked them, they actually pop lik balloons

  • why would you people even touch this thing???? let alone take it home??? like WTF???? do you people want to die??? i swear humans are the most intelligent animals on the planet, yet we do such stupid shit. by the way one sting from this thing and your fucked.... just saying

  • @Rooney134 human deaths from these are actually rare...

  • @Rooney134 You arent fucked... you will be in a ton of pain depending on how many/how large the tenticles are, but unless you have some allergic reaction, you will be just fine. I had a tenticle wrap around my ankle when I was fishing last year in Florida, it burned but I kept standing in the water for another hour fishing. When I got out, and went inside is when it started to really suck...

  • these are probably the happiest comments on youtube :D

  • thats cool how it came back to life usaully if i see one on land i can't help but to pop it

  • @rggfgjerjh yes it was quite dried out and re-hydrated. If all the things in the fish tank - it had the most character by far. Would have been cool to keep it and watch/film it catching small fish. Thousands of them about in places.

  • @clickthisway Does the things they eat end up in that bottle-thingy?

  • @dragonsember

    don't think so.

  • @dragonsember no its only for floating

  • @dragonsember Nope

  • It's so beautiful...

  • .............eat it.......

  • yeah its a colony of organisms

    which is so cool

I must be the nerdiest female ever lol

  • @kymmirox i love you

  • @DjPocho420

and now all your fish are dead.

  • ahhhh that brings back some painful memories

  • that is so strange..

  • "Mommy, can I touch it?"

    "Be carefull, dear"

    "ARrrG! ArRrG! ArRrg!

  • i swam into a bunch of baby man o wars today while surfing and dang it really hurts.

i don't wanna get close to a adult one

  • That jellyfish is fuck-toped.

  • Ahh~ The music makes it a thousand times more sinister..

  • sometimes you cant touch beauty......

  • سبحان الله

  • see them bubbles?

  • if someone said KILL IT WITH FIRE (kills it with fire) the BOOM it blows up and the sting blasts its way to the guy then aaaaaaaaaaaa the pain its like its killing me with fire

  • @zorbaknecromancer COOL STORY BRO

  • is that in an aquarium if yes u r very lucky to catch one

  • being a polyp is like look out human fire the stingers arrgggh we lost tentacfle 389 we need support

  • ive been stung by one. Do not let them wrap around u and cling to u!!

  • can u pop them? if you do will the die?

  • I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite animal(s)-ish-thing ;]

  • It's so BEAUTIFUL! O_O

  • i think that it's like 4 organisms or something.. reproductive, digestive, floating and then the tentacles... its not a jellyfish for sure tho.

  • i think that its for organism thingies or something... but it's not a jellyfish. i know that.

  • wow!its a good screen saver![its not a screen saver.]

  • I pop em lol

  • ahahah. i live at the beach and my 2 friends, dawson and mikayla were sitting on the sand, and we saw this blue thingy floating in the water, then we figured it was a jellyfish, we got bored aftur a while, then couple weeks l8er my other friend tymira went into the lagoon and we found out that sharks and stingrays swin around the lagoon, i dont really like the lagoon anymore x]

  • IF that be true, scar12x9, then the people shall be their own downfall, the movie terminator will come to be. Son of man, remember, that which was made without the passion, heat of love, is a cold-hearted beast.

  • i got stung by one

  • @DavidRck where did it happen?

  • agree very fascinating creatures...yet very painful...and fatal

  • more like mildly painful and incredibly rarely fatal.

  • @Escorpiona86 painful and sometimes fatal

  • I got stung by one of those today at the beach... it was not pleasant.

  • i herd this is a group of cells and stuff lving together, its not one whole animal.

  • I heard its a bunch of barnacles and stuff together.

  • nvr mind my last comment if it processed. I meant to say polyps living together on the Man of war.

  • You heard right

  • @scar12x9 you are correct, it is a siphonophore which is a colony of four minute, highly moderated individuals, you can check it out on wiki, i am right now and it is facinating!

  • @scar12x9 this is correct sir/ma'am. thank you for raising a good point on a good vid!

  • @scar12x9 that is true

  • @scar12x9 Sort of... the Portuguese Man of War is a siphonophore.. which in this case is a colony of four specialized individual polyps and medusoids... but they are so specialized, that they can't live apart from each other (being in fact physiologically linked to each other as a whole).

  • @scar12x9 Haha!! The Man o' War heard that the human is just a group of cells and organs living together.

  • @scar12x9 mjm indeed it has all types of nimatocyst idk how it is spelled in the little strings

  • @scar12x9 aren't we all a group of cells

  • @scar12x9

It is 4 seperate polyps each with a unique job of either, Floating, Digesting, Grabbing food, or Reproducing. The final is due to the fact these creatures actually can reproduce sexually even with their unisex forms.

  • @scar12x9 some are but some are also 1 being not a bunch of cells

  • beautiful..yet fatal

  • the venom rarely causes deaths but the pain is unbearable

  • Hey does any one know how long these things Live ? need to know for school

  • Tentacles can grow up to 50ft long.

  • this looks like the blue meanies in the yellow submarine, beatles movie

  • the man-o-war is not a jellyfish its just a normal fidh with tenticals

  • @nevarv actually a man of war is a jellyfish google or wikipedia

  • This looks like Diva Plavalaguna's head from The Fifth Element.

  • thats beautifull man

  • what if you pop it with a needle

  • doesnt need to be a needle

its fun enough just puttin on a thong .... the shoe... and stepping on them

    satisfyin "BANG" insues

  • its blue!!

  • what exactly can these things do to you ?

  • if you touch its tentacles (the long blue threads) many of its cnidarian cells inject poisonous substrate into your skin. it causes death very rarely, but after being stung, put some hot water onto the sting.

  • they sting lol

  • I never had problems with these animals in portugal.

I saw a lot more in florida.

  • i went to hawaii like three weeks ago and ya those arnt as bad as u think

  • ooooooooooooooooh pretty don't feel like going in the sea in portugal :P

  • lol in portugal we have these harmless white jelly fish and actually i've never even seen those

  • i got stung by one last week in Hawaii...it stung like 50 needles for about 2 days, but then there was only a huge, disgusting-looking red scar on my arm. now it's itching like 50 mosquito bites and god it's so gross...

  • omg these things dont killyou i got stung like 5 times today at pounders beach all on the same leg i didnt die it just hurt and yes the real pain is when it travels up to your waist i couldnt walk when that happened

  • they can kill you just rarely

  • You know these can't kill you right?

I had it all over my arm and part of my other one and it hurt but it wont kill you and i had a really really nasty sting too

  • actually they can,

there have been some cases where people have gone into cardiac arrest after being sting, which can lead to death

  • They can kill you actually, there highly toxic, you're just stupid enough to put you're life on the line... :l

  • yeah but the sea actually rips them apart.tentical from tentical so there are thousand of man of war tenticals floating about ouch

  • its an alien....

  • No its a Siphonophore.

  • @LUVINCHEGZ4EVA Its Justin Bieber

  • @LUVINCHEGZ4EVA why ? because you haven't seen it in your house like cockroach ? not every weird looking animal is an alien

  • i have been stung by one of these on my foot!!!

The real pain is when it traveled up my nerve to my waist

I was luky it wasn't so bad

  • i got stung bye one 3 days ago when i was in mexico

  • well ive actually been stung by one of these, you dont die, just very sharp pain where you got stung like 30 hot needles in ur skin in the same place, but if your stung get apple juice and spread it on your skin

  • Isn't it pretty?

  • What are your chance's of survivng agiants these ?

  • it's possible cuz my friends mum got stung by one in portugal it's about 50/ 50

  • depends on how long the tentacle was on you and the place. if you get stung just a bit on your arm or leg, you wouldnt die but it would hurt A LOT.

  • lol a robber comes into your house your freaking out in your room and you chuck the man of war at him on the face and he dies then you tell the juge what happened

  • is it the most dangerouse jellyfish???

and what would happen if you were stung by it???

  • man being stung by this sucks, i was stung by one when i was about 5, it was washed up on Miami beach and i picked it up, not knowing what it was, and i was stung. it was on my hand, a swelling patch about the size of a quarter was and inch tall. we drove to my grandparents apartment and treated it with vinegar, which actually makes it worse, i waited it out, and i was very lucky to survive.

  • lol those things are pure posion

  • hloy crap its so cool!where do u think i can get 1?

  • you want to die?

  • These things creep me out! I had a dream that i had one in my aquarium...

They aren't even 1 animal, each one is actually a colony of 4 different types... that's just weird!

  • that's what makes them so cool! you can't tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor when he made some of these animals. and i'm not trying to start a religous war, so if your not a christian, no offense cuz everyone has the right to their own opinion, but these animals are so cool!

  • Must be a sick sense of humor then... creating a blob that can kill you within minutes of touching it.

  • Can you get these as an exotic pet? Is that what this one is?

    ISO answer

  • I found this one washed up on the beach looking dead. Once in the fish tank he (...man of war) came to life and was quite happy, until sucked into the water pump - an incident that dissapear him, never to be seen again bar a faint blue smear on the filter media.

  • @clickthisway , damn.

  • @clickthisway

    OMG! That's soo funny!!

    Sorry =(

    Poor Jellyfish...

  • @clickthisway Such a shame what happen to your man`o war.

i rather like them. Maybe you should figure out how to design a system that is man`o war friendly. i am trying my hand at this myself. i love siphonophores and i think we need to develop new technologies to expand modern aquaria. there is lots of problems i over come though, namely how long man`o war tentacles get and figuring out how to get flow going so it does not turn the poor thing into mush.

  • @OMGChickens I found one on the beach and put it in my fish tank.

  • im scared of my holliday o dom rep because of this... they can killl u!

  • omg they are ugly like sort of baloon xp..they hurts =\ i was planning a wonderful summer..yeah right with no beach =[

  • omg i hate jellyfish! theyre so painful especially the purple one :S :S :S ( like this )

  • sorry to tell you this, but this isn't a jellyfish. it's a colony of hydras, or if you want to get really technical, it's made up of 4 different animals, actually.

  • I love its blue hues :]

  • very cook u was stung by one several years back all over my leg it hurt quite badley

  • WTF!? those things are disgusting but there fake jellyfish and poisonus!

  • so cool but so nasty!

  • ew i think i may vomit...

  • four colonies of cells

  • It's amazing that something so painful can be so beautiful.

  • is it true that it's 4 animals together and not just 1

  • Yep

  • sifonoforo

non vorrei trovarmela davanti lei e la chironex fleckeri

  • Hate to burst your bubble...

  • beauty ;p

  • beautiful creature

  • i wanna bite it

  • xShutupNerdx thats really smart

  • *BANG!*

  • iv been stung by one aswell

  • Dear God, that must've been horrible!!

  • its totally ironic that beatiful thing can hurt you like ... OH CRAP

  • why this sad music, is this thing dying?

  • Because it was copyright free and because it is a Man o War hunting prey, not Santa.

  • arent these supposed to be really powerful? It sounds like they are pussies from how everyone is talking about them

  • I luv popping those :D

  • You mean killing them?

  • I've been stung by these many times.. hurts less than a bee sting and burning only lasts a short while. anyone who surfs on the windward side of oahu can contest to this.

  • That's what I've found too. Maybe like a bee some are hypersensitive?

  • Surfer in Oahu is wrong. I was stung by one as in Myrtle Beach at 14 years old, the tentacles grabbed my leg and wrist let go and then started stinging leading to a burning sensation lasting 2 hours. My skin blistered up just like 2nd degree burns. I am 45 years old today and still have scars on my skin from my sting. There were 3 other kids in the hospital that day and one died from the venom entering his system in a large quantity.

  • I didn't know that they traveled as far up as Myrtle Beach

  • they travel up to virginia. In the york river, there are massive amounts of them. for some strange reason they do not go into the james river, which is south of the york

  • Whats with the spooky music?

  • It seemed to suit a deadly and strange creature hunting and I don't like Christmas carols.

  • fish indeed are dangerous. I once cut into my finger while opening a sardine tin! Beware ,they are everywhere. And always protect your eyes...

  • The box jelly fish IS actually considered the most dangerous in the world, found in Oz it kills more people a year than sharks, snakes or crocs. It's sting can stop cardio-respiratory functions in about 3 minutes. The second most dangerous is the Irukandji also found in Australia. The Manowar isn't a jellyfish at all.

  • precisely, the man of war is actually made up of other organisms put together.

  • Why do so many tiny deadly creatures live in Australia?

  • Probably cause of its harsh and dangerous geographical area that makes animals and other organisms constantly evolve through time so they could compete with other animals for food and survive.

  • What a pleasant color for something that can cause such pain. Ironic.

  • sorry to tell you but look it up. the Portuguese Man o' War it not a jelly fish. not in the same family it is in the Hydrozoa family. they are related but not the same

  • wht is the music

  • Look under stats n data

  • The portugese man of war (blue bottle) will not kill you. It will only cause redness and pain for about 45min. "There have even been deaths although this is rare"-wikipedia. We get them on the northe east coast of aus. They come in there thousand and sting hundreds. nobody ever dies...

  • in actual fact, the portugese is the 2nd most dangerous jelly in the world, the most dangerous one is the box jelly fish

  • ...and in REAL actual fact, the Portugese Man-of-war isn't even a friggin' jellyfish...

  • In REAL actual fact, the Portugeuse man-of-war

isn't even a jellyfish, and they rarely kill.

  • liar. i just read about both of them and the box jellyfish is the least dangerous. The Man o War only leaves red markings that usually last about 45 minutes. Stop trying to look smart without doing your homework

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • yeah its curious why they are called portuguese they dont even exist here...

but it sure looks creepy like hell ;)

  • they are called liked that because they look like a portuguese war ship, but nothin related to portugal.

Se llama buque de guerra portugues solo por la forma que posee, pero no esta relacionado con portugal,

    Saludos

  • zemanely i am portuguese and i can tell u dont exist in portugal, only in australia , only have that name , dont have nothing relative with portugal
