@sr1215cl I know just what you mean! The songs up until 1978 have the most meaning for me as well. Just such beautiful vocal and orchestral arrangements, and 1977 was when my family became Seventh-Day Adventists. My mother played all these records constantly, and when things changed in our family a few years later, and these songs were no longer a part of my life, I kept them alive in my mind, and could hear them just as though they were being played on a stereo! I love these songs.
@sr1215cl Who is your father, if you don't mind my asking? In my mid-teens I attended the same church as Dr. Lee Newman (after his Heritage days), who sang bass with them in the mid 70s. Whenever I'd see HS live, I was always backstage after the last number, getting autographs! :-) I was just a kid; it wasn't frowned upon. They were always so nice to me. I remember once when I was 9 getting Jim McDonald's autograph, and my mother saying to him in embarrassment, "He's a real go-getter!" LOL
@Tre404 My fathers name is Dennis Wilde and he sang with Jim McDonald, I think Jim was bass. I only saw HS live a few times, once at a reunion when I was a child. My parents still have the record albums, kids now days don't know what those are.
Praise The Lord for this faithful ministry and creative singing by talented singers for Jesus. Sharing National Sunday Law by A. Jan Marcussen too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really LOVE the old ways of HS singing. Its really inspiring and makes me closer to GOD. No offense meant but the present HS has nothing different from the broadway entertainers. . .the rhythm is not GODLY.
@namecusi booo i think that your wrong just because they dont sing the way they used to dos`nt mean that they sing like broadway entertainers!that was so uncalled for!
