@lollygaggle If you would have read my comment properly you would have read...
Should have used bricks!
Which in my eyes means, the person should have thrown bricks and not snowballs? This is merely an opinion of me and possibly many others watching this video.
I can’t see any way possible that you could make snowballs out of bricks. You could however mix stones and snow together to make a better snowball. It's as close to a brick as possible with snow. Unless you coated a brick in snow.
@colliecandle There was a geezer who tried using a disc cutter on a speed camera on our local by-pass, he got electrocuted because of the power cables running up the inside & he dropped the cutter & it ripped a great hole in his thigh. Snow wouldn't have hurt him at all.
@colliecandle There is no need as these cameras will be gone over the next year and replaced by lots more mobile ones. With the gov money cuts they cant be run any more as they cost too much mobile cameras will be out all the time.
@eviIbreebIes Hmmm! That mean's more hidden/clandestine sneaky snake activities on plod's part then!
You can be sure they will enjoy nabbing motorists much more from the warm comfort of their vehicles in safety [from big bad REAL criminals!] than actually doing the job they are PRIMARILY paid to do. Oh well - let's take note of how many of these mobiles sit at the roadside with their engines running to keep the occupant/s warm! Not a very good 'green' issue either methinks!
@colliecandle speed enforcement vehicles that are internally customised have a heater that runs independently from the engine being on. Dont forget that these guys are traffic specialists and thats what they are paid to do. Can i ask what speed you would prosecute someone for doing in a 30 zone and why?
@eviIbreebIes In answer your comment and then question: I should have realised they would have an independent heater! Oh well, got that wrong didn't I ?! Now to answer the question: The speed would not be the ONLY factor - I would take into account the time of day, the location, and the state of the person behind the wheel and any possible legit reason he/she may have for speeding. Plus other factors such as line of sight, vehicles parked on road......... [cont]
Respond to this video...Whether or not the location was city or country. There's a village with a 30 limit which is quite safe to drive through at shall we say, speeds in excess of 30 if late at night, but one that I do 'respect' in daylight hours. In a city? Hmmm, well, maybe a bit different. I think it's question of using one's common sense and as far as police are concerned, using some flexibility rather than hard and fast intransigence.
@colliecandle By the way, the village I mention is a local one to me....a straight road all the way through with clear line of sight.........There are ALWAYS the unkowns to consider I suppose. I was driving back home from Poole one night.thinking of nothing in particular, when this deer ran across the road right as I drew level from where it ran out - I didn't even have time to react! It got hit, but still ran off - the car had no damage although it sounded like a brick had hit it!
@colliecandle I still maintain that had I been driving faster, I would have missed it entirely! OR slower! So you see, fate is the KEY player here! NOT whether you drive slowly, the 'right' speed, or faster!
As my ol' dad used to say: "You can never 'KNOW' the road.......You never know when the unexpected will happen! When a cow will jump a hedge!" I hope that answers your question. But I say, you can't drive like having a bloke in front of you with a red flag at walking pace!
@colliecandle youve hit the nail on the head there and thats why I think speed limits as so important. you cant have a red flag waving person but you can impose a known standard so everyone knows that on that stretch of road you wont have cars doing 60 just because the driver thinks its safe
My brother hit a badger when he was speeding back in the 80's in a renault C5 and it nearly killed him he was in hospital for 5 weeks.
In the best Hollywood traditions, I want to see a remake. But this time with more guns, better explosions, etc. etc. Plot line was okay, character development was alright, but...
If I were into this kinda thing, I'd be thinking: "High-Powered Air-Gun from point blank, out of those bushes, under cover of darkness.. And then don't film it!" lol
Anyway, it was good up until the point where the snow melted! ;o)
Colloquially, 'Point Blank' means simply, "too close to miss" - as a decent shot at stationary targets, it hypothetically wouldn't be an issue. But maybe the more inept shots amongst us (like you) might need to go and practise first...
Plug a few of those Yellow Boxes.. Heheh... But watch out for ricochets! ;o)
Good try, but as they say, it's close but it aint right. In external ballistics, point blank range is the distance between a firearm and a target of a given size such that the bullet in flight is expected to strike the target without adjusting the elevation of the firearm. Like always with people suffering tiny brain syndrome, blunt talking and straight shooting is all you really have. Better luck next time chump.
lol...I'm quite sure that I'm a better shot that you, Popeye! And, no, I don't have a tiny brain.
P.s. Whilst I do appreciate that you don't have the benefit of a University Education and will have never written a dissertation, etc., you really should get some help on quoting sources (as I thought, in your word-for-word plagiarism, you seem to have missed out [Wikipedia]!! lol ;o)
Good try, let us not alert them of my mistake instead tell them that what although is factual we will say it is a quoted 'Wikipedia' story. Most likely the good lollygaggle himself wrote that, after all he is a moderator. Not only that but he is an admin on message boards as well, hard life for such a great man.
I don't have to go back and change it, no. However I would because that is the type of person I am. Just a kind, helpful, considerate and a lovable virgin looking for love, that's me! No not really! As you would say Tj, "Look at ma rockin' boots nd sexy fedora".
Oh, yes of course, you are abnormally tall and this clearly is socially unacceptable. Must be hard for you to fit in, but don't worry, the world is not over you still have your mind, oh wait no you have 'tiny brain syndrome'. For some reason when typing to you it's like deflating an old doll.
I don't know what kind of dolls you had as a youth - I didn't have any - I'm a lad.
But if you were doing something with inflatable dolls (like Del Boy and Rodders), then maybe your simile would make more sense ;o) But again, sorry, no personal experience of that or any vibrating, battery-operated hardware with which you're probably familiar?
"Tiny-brain syndrome": Wow. Cut to bone. Name calling (what you're down to) totally destroys me...Oh no! Wait! It doesn't..Heheh
Oh 'it' is back. Good to see the reject of the century feels the need to have a second, or is this third try, I can't remember. The point is, screwing has very little to do with anything, do you like to as you put it, screw. Sure you do, you don't have the brain power to do anything else.
Of course, life in the colonies is hardly riveting. Trapdoor spiders, venomous snakes, an underprivileged ethnic population who has endured centuries of abuse. Vast numbers of skin cancers, shark attacks, bush fires, crocodiles, miles of scorching 'nothing', not to mention Paul Hogan & Neighbours!
What would you do with those 27 returned seconds? Drink lager & shake the corks on your hat?

I keep reading that 'speed doesn't kill, irresponsible drivers do';
Not looking where you are going causes the accident, but the resulting velocity that you collide at is the bit that causes the damage. So if you are moving slower, the impact is greatly reduced regardless of the actual cause of the collision;
So not paying attention is the bit that accounts for the actual accident itself - 'the reason why', but speed is the factor that is totally responsible for the severity of the crash.

The road area that the cameras cover is miniscule. There are approach signs, white lines on the road and a big yellow box ten feet in the air on top of a metal support. The driver sets the speed and is totally at fault, no-one else. All you have to do is drive slower for a few feet, but that seems beyond so many drivers. Their attention span is so short, they never even see the camera, then rant on about their safe driving and how unfair it all is when the only person to blame is themselves.
grizzle is so wrong, speed cameras are pushing up the accident rate not bringing it down, see Paul Smith's Safespeed website for the facts. Oh, and grizzle, the earth isn't flat & the tooth fairy isn't real!! :-)

twats, 3000 people are killed on the road a year. Since speed cameras were introduced 140 less chilren a year are killed on our roads. Chew on that arsehole
What a load of bollocks, they are just another way for the government to screw the motorist out of a bit more cash. We all know everyone just slows down for the scamera then carries on as normal when they are 100 yards past it! The money the government screw out of motorists should be spent on making the roads better and safer to drive on, not yellow tax collection boxes.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
There are better ways of collecting money. The £ 60 doesn't even cover the costs of processing so how can it be for money. Further when they were introduced they were going to be unpainted and some random. Then they would be even more effective. Trouble is road fascists campaigned against these 'unreasonable' restrictions. Of pourse you admit they work as you slow down. I wish there was one outside my house
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well I hope for your sake my friend thereisn't a child or an elderly person in your way. Or should they be exterminated because theya re in your way Adolf
less people are killed on the roads true.what about the twats that are doing 50 in a 30 then slam the brakes on i take it they are not killed or cause other road users to take action.

The money the government screw out of motorists should be spent on making the roads better and safer to drive on, not yellow tax collection boxes.

Probablly General Franco is a better description. He couldn't have given a shit about human life but he was electorally plausible and a murderer.
