Ele faz isso para mostrar que entrega a vida por um propósito, assim como Jesus Cristo fez. Somente pessoas que tem coragem de defender um propósito real na vida e de se entregar em prol do bem comum faz isso que ele fez. Lutou contra o egoísmo existente, que repreendia o budismo na época, dando a própria vida por esse propósito. Precisa-se de pessoas assim no mundo, que lutem por um propósito, pelo bem e paz de todos, mesmo que isso custe sua vida.
Minha pergunta é como pessoas que tem uma elevação espiritual grande como esses monges, procuram o seu desencarne de uma forma tão absurda, pois sabemos que o único ser com poder de tirar nossas vidas é Deus.Não da para entender tal reação, e o pior todos ficam olhando e não fazem nada, para mim não existe justificativa para esta morte.
Ele fez um protesto contra a guerra, blz ! Quais as conseguencias das guerras ? mortes ?.... Só foi mais uma morte em vão ! '' O que adianta querer abrir os olhos de um povo cego'' ?

If this event didn't happen, then JFK would have unlikely been inclined to approve the CIA to sponsor the overthrow President Ngo Dinh Ngiem.
If Ngiem wasn't overthrown, he would have sooner (rather than later) demanded the US forces to leave so that the South could continue to fight the war without being branded as puppets.
