@pukaman2000 well to answer your question . they work extremely good runs like it on rails . very little to no sliding off to the side . and yes tire chans are supposed to be a little loose not a lot . but in this case they have to be tight so they stay on the tire . no they have not broken at all this is the second winter and work mint . also these are not old tires when i installed the chains on them they were brand new .
I want to do this to my roper this winter. I want to try welding some cross chains together from an old set of farm tractor chains. Might even see if I can weld some studs on there so I can use my v-plow
@GMCsierra1500 usually putting cross chains on , on the front has never worked for me at all . a wheel horse friend told me about this and he told me it works great
@conan6868 go to your hardware and get some chain . or motor cycle shop or bike shop . im sure they have a ton of old used chain laying around that you can have for free
I doubt this will last very long. Tire chains are not suppose to be tight because they will break a link.
I though a good use for old tires would be to slice them up and make chains out of them.

There's an optimized product based on this idea.
Works great, especialy on ice.
"next generation snow chains" - fits all vehicles and sizes.

if you have more chains and if it works you should put two on each tire
