it seems alot of people have been listening to artists using Autotune so much that they forgot how good some singers like Raul Midon can actually be. Our ears have been defiled by bad music over the years. Back in the 70's and 80's almost all artists could sing fast and high scales without a pinch of effort.

Yep, that's because he has amazing vocal pitch accuracy, even at fast tempos. Other singers can only do it using effects like AutoTune.

Check out the youtube video "Raul Midon - Giant Steps" where he talks a bit about his crazy vocal improvisation approach to singing through chord changes. He even improvises singing in unison and in harmony with the guitar - it's insane!
