@okmedia The whore of Babylon has harlot daughters, but she is still the great whore. All of the Protestant Bible scholars and Reformers agreed on this. Luther, Calvin, Knox, Newton, Bunyan, Wesley, Tyndale and the list goes on. The Historicist interpretation of prophecy is the traditional, orthodox Protestant view. What makes you think you understand prophecy, and the founders, leaders, and greatest scholars of Protestantism do not?

@eraser695 Escape the Whore of Babylon while you still can - her judgment comes soon. The "true Church" is not an institution, building, htheological system, denomination, or any such thing. It is the "body of Christ" made up of all those who have his Spirit. You will know them by their fruits (deeds).

For most of humanity's history, starvation was a constant menace. As the centuries have passed, more and more people have become immune to it (barring worldwide catastrophe) until now there are many nations of mostly well-fed people (many overfed) and plenty of food for everyone, with only the complacency of the rich preventing adequate nutrition for everyone. This has come about through human ingenuity and hard work. God had, has, and will have nothing to do with it!

@horsesandmountains God is very active in human affairs. He loves and cares for the poor and instructs us to do the same.
Perhaps you feel the way you do, because you see those who "claim" to represent God, feathering their own nests, while ignoring the plight of the poor.
The Vatican raped Europe of it's wealth for centuries, and has vast vaults full of priceless treasures. Yet they won't sell it off to feed the poor, or even to properly care for the victims of their pedophile priests.

Nobody is saved until the saints are in heaven.
"Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him! and he WILL SAVE US! this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!" ~ Isaiah 25:9
We have been saved, we are BEING saved, and we WILL be saved. It's a daily process until we make it to heaven. To say "I am saved" can be detrimental to our Christian Walk, and make us think we are "secure" causing us to slack in our "endurance".
