  • Yeah, baby, stand up! He sure did, didn't he? Wife's dying of cancer and he's out running around making babies and then lying about it till he runs out of room. Little panty waist phony, lying to the American people, standing up long and tall, and making babies while his wife's fighting for her life. And now, boo hoo hoo, it's over. Now he can sell shampoo, which is all he was ever good for.

  • @icarusdescending88 Your comment is so disgusting and entirely misses the point of his speech.

  • Vote Edwards a true man to his cause. He WILL BE THE COMMON MAN'S VOICE IN WASHINGTON!

  • Love him. That is a genuine and intelligent dude.

  • Genuine? Ask someone from NC....

He couldn't win NC in '04 and is in 3rd place now. Why do u think that is???

  • If you have any amount of Christian blood in you at all ,DON'T VOTE FOR HILLARY, OBAMA OR EDWARDS! Do your research. They'll sign a so called hate crimes bill that targets Christians under a hate crimes bill for preaching the word of God.

  • For Democrats tomorrow's always a day away. Edwards should have asked if Democrats will allow American voters to be tricked again by trivia like swift boat accusations and Dean "yee-haw" ctiticisms. For Democrats, I think they will. Bush really tried to say: You fool 'em once, and you can fool 'em again.

  • So for Republicans tomorrow is today?

  • Edwards said "tomorrow begins today". But, nothing was done, just clapping and cheering. Republicans don't have a timeline. Just a methodical chugging along - or even worse - just doing things without anyones knowledge or permission. Democrats are still campaigning on the same unaccomplished themes they did in 1992 - health care, education, and jobs. I wonder why???

  • Thanks for this video. Too bad when Edwards asked if they would stand up, they didn't yell YES & stand up. Reminds me of when Peter Jennings asked the 2004 primary candidates to raise their hand if they thought front-running Howard Dean could beat Bush & not one raised his hand.

  • But of course, they all did stand up

  • Yes, they physically stood. But they did not stand up. They still financed the war, let a corrupt administration continue unchecked, approved wire taps, and floundered on health care and education. All talk, no action!

Standing is one thing. Standing up is another!

  • you're right. I was way too literal with that. I know, I wanted Edwards so badly. He wasn't just the candidate of change, but of substance.

  • After Kucinich, Edwards is my choice, too. I'll still vote for him this Tuesday. By the time Bush leaves office, this country will be completely ruined. I'm so disappointed with my Congressional representatives! And Howard Dean.

  • "Silence is Betrayal" is actually a slogan that Dr. Martin Luther King jr. used in reference to the Vietnam war. So as an black man i'm inpressed that he used that without making it a big show boating hoot.

  • Edwards, Kucinich and Obama are all better on the stump and platform as speakers than hillary. They all can energize crowds. Hillary is too much like a lecturing mom.

  • Thank you John Edwards you remind us of what we were and what we can be. It is so easy to start a war it take real courage to stop one. Thank you John Edwards for being a true Democrat.

  • This is hands down the best guy for the job. He's sincere, he has convictions, he's not afraid to let us know where he stands and he has a depth and a world perception that none of the other candidates have. It's time to get this guy elected.

  • I am afraid Edwards is another warmonger.

  • One of John Edward's most recent quote I heard him say is, "We need to be patriotic about something other than war." This is hardly the words of a warmonger.

  • The Bobby Kennedy of 2008. John is the only impressive candidate in a crowded field. FInally, an unashamed champion of the poor, underprivileged and disenfranchised. JE08.

  • This is the real thing: conviction, not compromise; a leader, not a poser; a Democrat, not a "Republican-Lite" like Lady Clinton. The big money and the corporate press are not all over this guy, and that should tell you everything you need to know when choosing a campaign to support.

  • Great Speech! America is so much better than we've gotten from the Bush administration.

  • Seems like a nice guy, but lawyers shouldn't be allowed to hold public office.

    Ron Paul for President!!!

  • Best speech ever! HE can win!

  • if edwards regains & retains some feeling of authenticity he will win - the american people want authenticty, truth, and to a degree can handle it this time . . . last time around i felt he turned plastic and phoney towards the end. I felt he changed to get votes. at that point he lost my support and i believe others.

edwards has a real chance - he has to keep the focus on doing good versus being liked

  • if edwards regains some feeling of authenticity he will win - last time around i felt he turned plastic and phoney towards the end

  • Wow, he brought down the house.

  • Hell yes, universal health care.
