ea1 is FAR better than the ea1 mkII. today i almost bought a mkII..but going by the shitty videos on youtube i can see it is nowhere near as filthy as tyhe ea1. everyone..but the ea1 mk1.

@johnnyAKAjohnny You're right though. There shouldn't be any difference in sound between the two; they're so similar even VSI doesn't list them as different machines

@johnnyAKAjohnny True. They exchanged one effect for another but you can always roll back the firmware (or upgrade again for that matter).

love my first gen ea-1. been using it for several years now, using it a lot for saw basslines lately. definitely get a distortin pedal for it!

@LtLaser i think i've seen a vid where they hooked one up to a Boss Metalzone pedal, but not sure. the one video i have on my profile is a song by me and the bassline was done on an ea-1 with a DOD distortion pedal. it's a pretty simple bassline and the tempo on it slows to about a third halfway through the song, so the bass and distortion should be easy to pick out. i'm into a lot of the french electro, so i usually end up making saw wave basslines and running them through a distortion pedal.

nothing. only one modulation type. even the owner's manual is the same, they only attached some new pages to show that difference between a1 and a1 mkII
