we all got put into a room to watch a wheeled in television in primary school and await the countdown for this.....I dont know why but this song always scared the hell out of me!!! my old primary school is my polling station and I haven't been since I was 19 because I have to vote in the 'you and me' room!! arrrgh.

i wonder that to as officially '' you and me'' wasnt classed as a schools prgramme ... i remember it in the afternoons on bbc2 but were talking late 80's early 90's here, i imagine this was way back in 82-85 or something.

Also You and Me was billed as a seperate programme prior to Daytime on Two in 1983 which is probably why it was introduced with the BBC1 logo rather than with the dots/diamond.

indeed. that would make sense. i think '' storytime'' was billed as a seperate programme as well, i.e not intended for schoolage, but preschoolers. I Remember cosmo and dibbs on at 2pm or thereabouts along with words and pictures etc before 1992 were it was changed about with the schedule
