Thank you for your reply hellegennes.I cannot believe that I have only just discovered
this incredible piece of music, being what I thought I was a classical nut.The fourth movement just keeps going around my head.Absoloutely beautiful of music
Cheers! For some weird reason, the American Suite is one of the lesser known works of Dvorak. Not that his 9th symphony doesn't deserve its place, but the only reason I can think of why opus 98 is lesser known, is because it's not a symphony. Weirdly enough, the cd from which I have extracted this piece also had the 7 Interludes, which is also a lesser known work for no significant reason. Initially Dvorak wrote the American Symphony only for piano, which also brilliant on its own.
This particular movement from the whole suite, moves me so much I have written lyrics for it. I have written it in Greek, initially, but I have also translated it (it's now in the description)
Yes. It is the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra under Dmitry Yablonsky. The whole suite is marvellous but this particular excerpt makes me shiver every time I hear it.

I thought Dvorak's 8th symphony was beautiful but this is heartbreakingly beautiful,so delicate.
