well, the bible talks about what happens, to cause addictions worse, where it says that when a demon leaves a man's body, and he comes back seeing the house swept and clean, coming from dry places, he returns with 7 more spirits, more powerful than him, and the last state of that man, is worse than the first. thats addiction, sin, and demons.
Wow. I never thought about this. It really makes sense. I don't want to blame my mom because my parents divorced so she can't love me as much as I need I guess. This content is so true. How can we stop our addictions? Or did I miss it in the video. Sorry if I did.
@menohaveaname to stop your addictions, pray to god, and ask him to stop it. cast devils out of your mind everytime you feel the need to do participate in your addiction or sin. demons cause sin, our hearts leaning towards evil cause sin, god stops it, god sets you free, and heals you, jesus will save you, just ask him to make you better, he listens. god bless : ]
I needed to hear this again. I have been finally on my own road to recovery after realizing my own methods were closely akin to repeatedly banging my head against the wall. Thank you for this clear, poignant message, Father Peter.
How profound. As a recovering addict, there are times when I would love to have just one puff. However, I can resist the urge, even though it's right in front of me every day. I believe it's due in equal parts to the love of my children and Jesus & God and also the love I have for them as well. May God Bless you Father Peter. These videos you've put out for everyone to see have been so enjoyable to watch. I'll try to apply these teachings of yours to my daily life. Thank You xo ♥
It is so true that addictions just get stronger when you act them out. Abstinence is the ideal. I have never heard the part about "stealing a high one did not earn" or that addictions come from wounding in the parental relationship, but it really makes sense.
Every day, more and more people become enslaved to addictions of every kind. They are hard habits to break. Without support and God's Grace, it would be impossible.
He tells us compassionately and with sharp honest, clarity, why we have addictions, why they hurt so much, what we are really trying to do when we take in our addictive comforts. It is a provocative introduction that makes you believe he knows a real way out.
