  • which key did u used?

    UTF or UTE

  • UTF is for fire service, I think UTE is the stop/run switch key.

  • @blackmaxima UTE is for car top inspection. UTA is used for Run/Stop, fan, lights, and Ind. Svc. UTD is for keyed hall call stations and express service. UTC is for Attendant service. And UTF is for fire service.

  • @carolyn19858 He used UTF

  • Cool! Are you Dan B.?

  • Yes, he is.

  • It is almost exactly like independent mode except that in independent mode, the doors open automatically when it reaches a floor. Also in phase 2, all door reopening devices are inoperative including the safety edge.

  • I thought that in the Dover/TK classic elevators with the square buttons, the car would stop in independent service, but you had to control the doors with the door open and door close buttons.

BTW, I see YouTube videos on how to put an elevator into independent service by pressing and holding the desired floor button and the door close button simultaneously for a few seconds. does anyone know if this actually works, and what elevators it will work on?

  • I have not come across one elevator when it worked. the best way to check and see is to go to a middle floor, press both up and down call buttons, then whichever direction gets called first go in that direction. then come back the other way to a floor below the original floor, if it doesn't stop at your original floor then it worked. The elevator trick doesn't put it into the same independent service; it just puts it in to skip mode. Skip mode only skips outside calls; inside calls arent skipped
