@linyonglan Fake it? No that's not the case. One thing you need to understand is this. People who've trained in martial arts for a long period of time can have the same power display in small movements which take others much larger movements. My Aikido teacher is like that. He can move in a very small space and have really powerful techniques. This instructor in this video is the same way. Until you have experienced it from training, you shouldn't call it fake and that shows respect
@bailattelo Obviously you have no clue or idea when it comes to Martial Arts or you wouldn't say something that stupid. The only thing fake here is you and your the one who shows disrespect by saying such crap. Maybe you should try training in an art and see how well you do and then come back and see if its still fake then....
@TheShadow4211 True. But i know how it works. Enough to see what is displayed here is mumbo jumbo. If someone outside would be asked to attack this man for real, a normal man with no trainin, this aikidoka master could never defeat him with this techniques. This is just fake.
@bailattelo So has training for 3 years made you a know-it-all? That's the feeling I'm getting from you when it comes to this video. It's one thing to disagree but it's another thing to say something is fake. Granted in a dojo we practice with partners but that doesn't constitute it being fake. The skill level of my instructor is pretty phenominal and no ordinary man who has no training could come close to touching him and he wouldn't be one to hurt another.
@TheShadow4211 yup correct baut i didnt want to write a long post explaining a lot of things i just wanted to make clear that they are two diferen things so even if one is the root of the other doesnt mean they teach the exact same thing
@TheShadow4211 i think i may have expresed myself the wrong way, i was actualy trying to explain what i didnt in my previous coment in response to the other guy (dont remember the name) who was talking like they were the same thing and i wanted to clarify
@baterosinalma There are some similarities between Daitoryu Jujutsu and Aikido. And if you've trained in Aikido you can notice where there are similarities in the movements or even in the throws but they aren't identical though.
In Judo, kansetsu-waza is only for kata/general practice but not randori/shiai. I took Aikido for a year to get some new ideas of how to move. I worked as a bouncer while in school and on the rare occasion I had to eject someone, a softer Judo technique is preferable because Aikido is almost too effective. Uke is simply moving with the technique to protect his or herself and their joints. It doesn't make Aikido fake. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
true.Mr Shiosaka, who was a student of Sagawa sensei tried him long time ago but Mr Okamoto could do nothing against him.so Sagawa sensei used to say Mr Okamoto's aiki is fake....
The Ukes are tought to do what's considered the right thing to the extend where they lose touch with reality in order to keep the correct grip.
The reasoning is that otherwise the grip would slip and the hand they're holding would attack, but it doesn't stand to reason. Such attack would not be efficient unless the hand was holding a knife, in which case the total scheme looks very strange from the beginning.
I have to express my scepticism with this owing to the excessive compliancy of the Ukes. In the UK Trad JJ syllabus, there are some 33 Wrist Applications however NONE bring the instant reaction he gets from the Ukes. Moreover most people would just let go.
The same is true of the Double Grab to the Lapels. The simple shrug would not work without the exaggerated Breakfall of the Ukes.
I agree. The reaction of the ukes is totally for show. However, I still think there is some value in practising these small circle blending movements. They will not give you superpower like suggested here, but I think it is a good basis for doing any technique correctly.
@kentishtowncowboy It "could" also be that maybe you have never experienced someone of this skill level apply them. I have while in southern california and as strange as it is your whole CNS shuts down due to the sudden jarring pain.
I have never disrespected Aikido, but this is ridiculous. I want to see the effectiveness of Aikido in randori...I do not doubt the effectiveness of some of the Aikido techniques, I am well aware of its roots in Jujutsu, but this crap presented is based more on psedo religious tone than on reality...No ammount of aiki is going to cause me to flip instantanously as soon as I touch somone
I just truly got introduced into Aikijutsu two winters ago. I started training in Daito-Ryu a few months ago and love it. It has vastly improved my WT training as well as the other arts i've trained in. Developing the ability to relax the body in order to harness the Aiki is not easy...but important..and well worth the effort !!
After 47 years of practising Karate I cannot believe I have so much to learn! It takes me a few punches and kicks to bring down some of my biggest students to the ground, but after seeing this I feel like a beginner. Wow, I close my eyes and see my 115kg Senpai flying through the air by just shaking my shoulders!
Better go and take my medication I think, before I really start believing in fairies!!
The secret of this throwing stuff is simple. RUB SNAKE OIL all around your body before going to the mat. Ukes are thrown just a light touch to your body. Try it, it works, my sensei tried that to us.
thank you @Peterperalta that was really well said!! i study to-shin do, it was found by Stephen K. Hayes, we study many forsms of ninjitsu. my teacher is Mr. Stinson at the phoenix quest center!
No arts are greater than the other. It depends on how good u r in that martial arts. Masters themselves never criticized any martial arts besides theirs. If there is one who does, he is no master himself. Quit comparing, and just choose which one is for u.
@peterperalta Dude! This is just fake. This is like selling water as medicin for sick people. I think its every martial arts masters duty to call out this fraud.
@peterperalta Bullshit. You can only compare arts that make the same claim. If Aikido claims to be an effective system for self defence, then it has to be open for criticism. And OFCOURSE some martial arts are better then others. Look at 3:21. This is a FRAUD!
@peterperalta Love what you've stated. A pity, so few can learn from your words.. My 1st, and best, sensei, the late John Pereira, often stated, "the man is as good as the art; the art is as good as the man.." ALL unarmed fighting arts kick ass! You're as right as rain. Judo was the first Asian martial art I saw up close. It was what I wanted to study, until I saw karate.. Karate was what I studied; but, aikido, I so admired..
All people who discriminate any martial arts and call themselves a martial artist, are just bullies or immature. All arts in fighting are effective, and it only depends on how u use it or good u r in that art. Obviously that all who criticize others are kids or beginners only. I trained bjj, karate, mui tai, boxing, aikido and Kenpo karate, and let me tell u this all of them works. Plus, my masters told me that all who stays quite are the most dangerous ones. They never criticize any other arts.
Wow cool, I don't understand the language. Are they showing their instructor how good their shoulder rolls are? Is this some sort of shoulder roll test the students are doing? I have to admit, these are great shoulder rolls.
The power of suggestion is real but too much respect for the sensei is counterproductive. This is fake and an insult to those who take martial arts seriously.
Stuff like this has been going on for a long time; TOO LONG. It is fake. That people train with scam artists like this just floors me. That people would even believe this is real floors me more. Stuff like this should just be banned from the internet. These people should be ASHAMED to even be classified as martial arts.
When the students have too much respect for their sensei, it ends up like this. If they reacted like one would in real life, it wouldn't end up in this sort of arrogance. Technique training is great, but if you don't test it in a realistic setting, it will never be an effective technique.
Is this meant to be a parody? This is truly a joke either way. The students are falling all over and flipping themselves for this guy. These techniques would only work on his students in his dojo - there is no way those techniques would work on the street or anywhere else.
@aerhearts funny i was thinking the exact same thing!!! One thing ive to say its that ive saw those techniques from a Russian fat guy who throw the students all over the place without even touching them pretty much like this guy, i think he was part of something called, Vasillev Russian martial art or something like that.
This is not impossible according to physics- it is physics, and attacking the anatomy. Every new student that comes in the dojo is just as skeptical until they feel it for themselves. They are allowed to punch, kick or attempt a take down once they can fall without getting hurt. If they can knock me down or even out, that's my failure not theirs. I want my training to be realistic and I make theirs as realistic as I can with out being wreckless.
rooster you are a idiot..yonazawa learned from Horikawa...Okamoto Shihan was top student of Horikawa..Higher ranked than Yonazawa...also was not banished from Kodokai like yonezawa was......Inoue also was Higher ranked..so you say the very man who trained yonezawa and was given a teaching liscence from Kodo Horikawa was Fake????..So kodo was great but he gave okamoto Shihan liscence for being a fake daitoryu teacher????
@Dojocho never said fake, and im far from an idiot, all i said was my opinion that the techniques discussed , though well done and based on solid time tested arts , would not translate to a street situation, coming from someone who knows.
ITS BULLSHIT..WHY DO PEOPLE GET SUCKED IN BY THIS RUBBISH...IT WORKS FOR THE WEAK MINDED WHO CANT BE BOTHERED TO TRAIN HARD..THIS CRAP WILL GET THEM KILLED IN REAL LIFE...TO MANY MARVEL MOVIES...
i am a black belt in daito ryu, Yonezawa lineage, this is a joke, no application in real life situations, coming from someone who has been attacked on nyc streets attackers, hold on if you make them hold on, usually they let go at the slightest opposition
back when these techniques were made, someone wasn't grabbing your wrist to kidnap you, they were grabing it to stop you from taking your sword. And i have a funny feeling they probably wouldn't have wanted to let go. But the man grabbing would surely know that it was a jujitsu trap wouldknt he? Well if he knew jujitsu, which is why the tecniques were kept secret from family to family, and only released recently i suppose. anywho, i feel sorry for you for perhaps not training in right dojo.
@dirosaga i am well aware of the reason for grabbing someones wrist in swordfighting days, in this day and age an attacker grabs your wrist, arm, neck, or torso, in order to mug , rob, rape or inflict bodily harm, if someone grabs my wrist to pull me into an alley and i respond with a strong atemi before i start my kote gaeshi, they will let go, regroup, realize i know a thing or two, and come back with a different attack now only angrier, now without the element of surprise its just a fight
@rooster82471 interesting. i will consult my sensei on the matter, see what he thinks. i wonder then, what iIS usefel to you from daitoryu? (In street scenarios?). and if u think the atemi, lock, finish model is ineffective, what model or martial art do you instead advocate (since u have expereicned real situations).
@dirosaga Its all useful and i have used it three times to save my life, knife, bat , multiple attack...i am okuiri under Yonezawa , no disrespect to any masters, but there is practical and there is demonstration, i practice certain techniques that i have to hold on "no matter what" while my master twists me into a pretzel but a white belt just lets go at the fist sign of pain, case in point! in every art you have to always evaluate the validity of techniques, thats how it evolves! stay open
@rooster82471 Well, it's obvious just by observing the uke's reactions, that they don't even have time to let go - in fact, their arms appear to be locked up from the get go, so that it would painful or even dangerous to let go.
@rooster82471 if you are good, they won't be able to let go. and if they do let go and pull out, then you just go with that flow of the opponents pull without resisting and throw him in that direction.
@rooster82471 you know what that meens? it meens you SUCK at it it dosent meen its fake you felt it for yourself (unless your teacher is a fake i dont know) but it dosent meen you SUCK at every martial art go take some MMA maeby thats better for you but dont talk trash on something that has been proof over and over and over again. if you dont like it try something else.
@rooster82471 Perhaps you were taught but did not learn. There are very effective techniques within Daito-ryu. Not all of them are "taught" to the student, but are instead expected to be stolen from the Sensei. When the student suffers a defeat, he cannot blame his teacher or his art. That is just poor posture.
I have seen the TRUE Daito-ryu techniques used in NYC by a bouncer. They were devastating (broken elbow, broken shoulder, convulsion and seizure).
I suggest seeking out and learning from Kondo Sensei. He has the true techniques. He will not teach them to you. You must observe and steal over a lifetime. I learned through his pupils. As did the bouncer I mentioned above.
i am a black belt in daito ryu, Yonezawa lineage, this is a joke, no application in real life situations, coming from someone who has been attacked on nyc streets
Looks fine to me. This is training and demonstration. Look at a Karate kata that's "fake" there's no one there, it's an imaginary person they are hitting- you dont just say Karate is "fake" because of the way they train. The Sensei is demonstrating principles with students that understand what he is trying to do and are trying to follow his lead.as well as avoiding getting hurt!
I would love to feel his energy as a non UKE. It looks like he is doing some pretty neat stuff but the UKE's make it unbelievable. I love the japanese martial arts but I wish they UKE's didn't play up the throws so much.
Pls don't take any of this as an insult as that is not what it was meant to be.
@Benkeiminamoto I sure as hell don't have a clue of what is going on...however I'd certainly like to know. I'm not trying to doubt what's being filmed but it does look very iffy. I'm interested in joining an aikikai dojo near where I live though..Hopefully I'll get a better grasp of what really goes on in Aiki first hand.
people must not talk...you must feel this...Okamoto Sensei here has students all over the wordl in many countries..all these people are not fools they do not pay money to fake fall..it is real.
Trust me, those wrist locks hurt like a motherfucker. The reason you roll is to avoid breaking the wrist. In our class we just tap out. The guy is so fast that you can't tell that he did anything.
@Dexcyn I do not speak Japanese but I love Japan and the martial arts! this is a false proof, it is impossible to lock in that way a male athletes otherwise they would win all the competitions of martial arts in the world, but we know that this does not happen! sorry for my English!
By certain movements he bends their spines, thus stealing their balance first, then executing the fall which is peace of cake.
Also in some cases he uses breathing techniques( it has to do something with inner centres, he moves his centre down moving ukes center up, thus making him loose his balance again)
Maybe I have a small understanding but they aren't giving him any power. It makes me wonder where all that power is coming from. Certainly not just his hands, but I will not yell about it.
They say you have to feel it, Ive traveled all over Japan and have trained with Kondo Sensei and Takeda sensei, and Shioda sensei, and have yet to feel enticed to jump into ukemi. Granted Ive loved aiki and other arts since 1961 but I believe in pragmatic street altercations. The most realistic incarnation is what they call Senzen Aiki Tendo. Sadly this video might do more harm then good for AikiJujutsu.
It seems to be you never heared of Sokaku Takedas life. He has so many figts with swords and without, with many attackers and all in wild west like time with no rules on the streets where death came in to play.

Is this meant to be a parody? This is truly a joke either way. The students are falling all over and flipping themselves for this guy. These techniques would only work on his students in his dojo - there is no way those techniques would work on the street or anywhere else.
aerhearts 7 months ago

Dojocho 9 months ago
@Dojocho never said fake, and im far from an idiot, all i said was my opinion that the techniques discussed , though well done and based on solid time tested arts , would not translate to a street situation, coming from someone who knows.

i am a black belt in daito ryu, Yonezawa lineage, this is a joke, no application in real life situations, coming from someone who has been attacked on nyc streets attackers, hold on if you make them hold on, usually they let go at the slightest opposition
rooster82471 10 months ago 2
back when these techniques were made, someone wasn't grabbing your wrist to kidnap you, they were grabing it to stop you from taking your sword. And i have a funny feeling they probably wouldn't have wanted to let go. But the man grabbing would surely know that it was a jujitsu trap wouldknt he? Well if he knew jujitsu, which is why the tecniques were kept secret from family to family, and only released recently i suppose. anywho, i feel sorry for you for perhaps not training in right dojo.
dirosaga 9 months ago
@dirosaga i am well aware of the reason for grabbing someones wrist in swordfighting days, in this day and age an attacker grabs your wrist, arm, neck, or torso, in order to mug , rob, rape or inflict bodily harm, if someone grabs my wrist to pull me into an alley and i respond with a strong atemi before i start my kote gaeshi, they will let go, regroup, realize i know a thing or two, and come back with a different attack now only angrier, now without the element of surprise its just a fight
rooster82471 9 months ago
@rooster82471 interesting. i will consult my sensei on the matter, see what he thinks. i wonder then, what iIS usefel to you from daitoryu? (In street scenarios?). and if u think the atemi, lock, finish model is ineffective, what model or martial art do you instead advocate (since u have expereicned real situations).
dirosaga 9 months ago

Igaluit 7 months ago
@rooster82471 if you are good, they won't be able to let go. and if they do let go and pull out, then you just go with that flow of the opponents pull without resisting and throw him in that direction.
Thegus0 7 months ago
@rooster82471 you know what that meens? it meens you SUCK at it it dosent meen its fake you felt it for yourself (unless your teacher is a fake i dont know) but it dosent meen you SUCK at every martial art go take some MMA maeby thats better for you but dont talk trash on something that has been proof over and over and over again. if you dont like it try something else.
XxTHExDEADxMANXx 7 months ago
@rooster82471 Perhaps you were taught but did not learn. There are very effective techniques within Daito-ryu. Not all of them are "taught" to the student, but are instead expected to be stolen from the Sensei. When the student suffers a defeat, he cannot blame his teacher or his art. That is just poor posture.
I have seen the TRUE Daito-ryu techniques used in NYC by a bouncer. They were devastating (broken elbow, broken shoulder, convulsion and seizure).
christofchaos 6 months ago
@rooster82471
I suggest seeking out and learning from Kondo Sensei. He has the true techniques. He will not teach them to you. You must observe and steal over a lifetime. I learned through his pupils. As did the bouncer I mentioned above.

Pls don't take any of this as an insult as that is not what it was meant to be.

they just say a lot of grap but then again where should they know it from

It is not about power, not even close.
By certain movements he bends their spines, thus stealing their balance first, then executing the fall which is peace of cake.
Also in some cases he uses breathing techniques( it has to do something with inner centres, he moves his centre down moving ukes center up, thus making him loose his balance again)
and agai he uses nikkyo techinqiues.
