Wow; Thanks for the info! By the way: VW de Mexico never built air cooled convertibles (Except the Type 181, called "Safari" in the mexican market), ragtops, metal sunroofs or "Super" Beetles, just made a plain T-1.
So different to the german built T-1 for the american market and the VW of Mexico production: Lowback seats, non padded dash and the denomination: "1302"; Is a 1200 the engine?
This is a "Big Bug" with McPherson front suspension. The 1302 is the 1971 and 1972 years denomination for the Big Bug with a flat windscreen; starting from 1973 was called 1303 fitting a curved windscreen.
that was cool I havent been able to ride in mine for a while due to the fact that i hade to rebuild the the engin and i tryed to put it back in but it was my first time and i crossed the wires on the coil and melted the condenser.i replaced it and fixed the wires tried to start it but their was no spark.oh well practice makes perfect.
Nice Bug. Is this a '71 or a '72? Autostick? The engine sounds really good. I'm just learning about old VWs now, have just bought a 68 Beetle. I have one video of me driving it, but I hope to add more soon.
Looks to be a '72. '71s had a 2 spoke steering wheel. To tell if it's autostick or 4spd listen to the gear shifts. Autostick is a 3spd, manual is a 4spd

@fufiffi Worlds Apart Better then the Brazilian Volks. Our "FUSCA" is very much simple than the 1302.

Autosticks can be driven in ONE gear...
around towns or cities..
Like Drive 1 or Drive 2
LOW gear is a very low gear and acceleration is Great...
so, normally You only hear Me change gears twice.. Low to drive 2...
