  • Just watched this film, completely taken with it. That girl was amazing, I didn't know child actors could BE that good.

  • KENNY LOOKS SUPER DUPER UGLY HERE DYLAN MINNETTE IS WAAAYY MORE BETTER!

  • I rememeber watching this movie when I was 10 and I love it. I also like Let Me In :). I love movies with killing vampires. They are the best :D!!!!!!

  • I like this movie

  • Let Me In was a pretty solid remake for the most part.

But this film, and its beautiful editing, it's superior by miles.

  • Am having a debate with my film teacher - he says Let the Right One In is a cold film, period.. I say it's a warm film presented coldly.

Like if you agree with me :) Thanks!

  • @pushandfallfilms I like that explanation. There is a definite love between the 2 main characters that is very warm.

  • flash in the night

  • is martin (in blue shorts) dead at the end of the scene? or has he just been dragged across the pool? also, i think that is martin's leg being pulled through the water at 3:44 but where is Jimmy (older brother) standing for the legs to pass between the edge of the pool and Oskar? id be grateful if anyone could answer me. thanks

  • when i first saw this i was amazed

  • the kids are smaller than the american version

  • finally i can be amazed by a swedish movie

  • The last part of this scene where Oskar slowly opens his eyes and see's Eli is a real scene stealer. When he smiles and the camera then focus's on Eli and you see her cheeks rise because she too is smiling is genius. It shows a genuine friendship in an everso subtle way.I think both this and 'Let me in' are truly excellent, but the remake could have done with having this simple scene adding to the end because these simple facial features added so much more dimension.

  • @vegas2004

Let Me In is pretty bad because the director didn't know what he was doing, and what some scenes meant what, therefore the actors didn't know how to properly portray their roles.

Also, they changed way too many things about the character's in Let Me In.

  • @AbyssCrown

I've watched both films couple times now because i still find the storyline innovative and refreshing and although i do still like the remake-i now accept it is the poorer version of the two.The original shows much more loneliness with both character and digs a little deeper into Oskars dark state of mind.

  • @vegas2004

Yeah, as a film itself the remake is a decent film, but if you compare it to the original it looks pretty bad.

  • @vegas2004 Agree. Though I somehow missed Eli smiling the first time I saw the film. I think I was still reeling from seeing dismembered limbs and a head being thrown around in the pool.

Nevertheless, a brilliant film all around. Turned me into a big fan.

  • @KSCIAA

Try reading the book as it goes into much more detail with Eli and what she is.It also has a different twist with Hake and the story does have a somewhat sinister side too,but explains many things which the movie only touches on.Im about 3/4 of the way through and it pulls right into the story.Highly recomended!

  • @vegas2004 Yeah, I've heard the book itself is really good as well. I'll look into it, thanks!

  • The American remake is one of those rare Good remakes. So awesome

  • @nintendogamer75 i heard it was horse shit penis

  • I saw Let me in before this one and actually preferred Let me in although I am Swedish. With one exception. The pool scene in LTROI is much better and more powerful. The actor who plays Conny's brother is really scary. What also bothers me is how one of the kids is smiling with Oscar before the bullies enter, it just seems so cold-hearted.

Of course the soundtrack is much better, packed with Swedish classics such as Flash in the light :-)

  • @Stadexpressen I agree with you here. I saw this original when it was released and the pool scene is much more powerful (though I prefer the hospital scene in LMI). Having said that though "Let me In" is a surprisingly great remake that easily holds its own. I expected it to be rubbish.

  • I don't even want to watch the US version. The original is so perfect, I don't wish to tarnish my perception of this story.

  • @XIXNayRXIX That is how I feel about this one. I love Let Me In. This one was pretty cute, but Let Me In is better. But you're free to have you're own opinion.

  • Because of this scene, i've been singing "A flash in the night" for days now.... and at the same time thinking of poor Oskar and that this is reality for some people out there.....

  • Favorite Movie........OF ALL TIME!!!

  • I loved this scene, but everyone else in the cinema were clearly really freaked out, and I was giggling. Not sure what that says about me.

  • just watched the american version, still good but this is way better

  • Thumbs up if you were trying to hold your breath when he was. :-)

  • @VocalVerve I tried, but I couldnt make it any longer than about 3:42

  • let me in, let the right one in and 30 days of night i gotta say there the goryist vampire movies i saw. but my favorit it 30 days of night.

  • wow stop hating on the US remake it wasn't even that bad BOTH films were GREAT end of story.

  • I always wonder why she let the boy with the scarf live...

  • @tinzan just to show that she still has a little bit of humanity in her.

  • I almost died kares over here all cute with his cute mouth gestures marching in the water and spitting it out then this jerk came over and tried to kill him (I would've told him off big time) then the awesome Lina comes and chops his body into peices and I'm over here sobbing and crying

  • And I'm american!

  • I agree 100% with Daphuhnuh on this one

  • why does she leave the one boy alive?

  • @geemachine666 I think because he actually felt like what was happening was wrong, and was crying because of it. She could tell he wasn't as bad as the rest of them.

  • In the American version, you don't see Abby at the end there; all you see is Owen's expression when he looks up and sees Abby in her full monster's body for the first time. I think it's a more powerful scene by not showing Abby in her true form but leaving the audience asking, "What did you see, Owen? Tell me, what did you see?"

  • Fuck you Daphuhnuh. It was better, but it was NOT corny.

  • Fuck you Daphuhnuh

  • *PANT GASP PANT GASP PANT GASP* GODAMN IT I ALMOST HELD MY BREATH THAT LONG!!!!!!!!

  • One of the most visceral, disturbing, affecting and brilliant scenes ever filmed.

  • @chemicalbrotherkid So true. The tension is unbelievable. It's so real. You can feel Oskar's fear. This film is a classic.

  • Let Me In is exactly the same but just in English. I love it though. They are both good! Especially Chloe Moretz as Abby!

  • oscar is so effing adorable.

  • is somebody knows what is the name of the song that is playing at the radio?

  • @robertorevel

Secret Service - "Flash In The Night"

  • @Libertinus79 - thank you!

  • Cool. My mom won't let me see it, but is this it? Is this is scariest part? If it is, I've got this DOWN. Someone please reply!!!

  • @goosebumpsguy its not really a scary movie. I get scared reading reviews of horror movies at night time (lol im a wimp) but i didnt find any of this movie scary. I guess its violent though.

  • vad heter han som spelar den där killens storebrorsa?! han var ganska bra juh!

  • Unfortunately, the low res of the clip you uploaded doesn't clearly show the head sinking down into the pool very well. Maybe you could upload an HD version.

  • this movie is a masterpeice. End of story

  • this movie healed the scars that twilight caused me

  • By ebgl I meant english

  • Can you get this movie in ebgl

  • bullies are little shits.

  • yeah, the remake was ok

nice cgi and good performances, higher bodycount

but do you see the spared kid at the end of this scene?

you don't get such nuances in the remake while the original had a lot of them and thats why I hate the remake nonetheless

  • The remake was better by far. Everything was better in my opinion.

  • Man, that kid is pale as heck and he's supposed to be the human

  • I like the pool scene from Let Me In better--my opinion and I'm entitled to it :)

  • Amazing scene in an amazing movie...

  • Can she fly? I sweat she can fly. She drags the kids all across the pool

  • This scene is the consummation of the coming-of-age narrative. It is a 'baptism' into manhood you could say.

This version is far superior to the American remake. The sound editing alone was masterful.

  • Damn!I want a girlfriend like that!good vid by the way.

  • If anyone understands a damned thing about language undertones in movies, they know why this scene is so superior to the version in Let Me In. Mr. Reeves, you deserve to be hung and quartered.

  • @HardforJesus You LTROI fanboys are so indenial and ignorant. Just cause a remake improved your beloved Swedish film doesn't mean you have to bash it. If LMI was such a horrible film than don't look at it. You all are just jealous cause LMI is better to look at

  • @dubrob210 Keep telling yourself that. Video game visuals are alive in cinema because of people like you. ;)

  • wait a min, in Let me in, all of the bullying kids were killed. The origin Let the right one in has 1 still alive?

  • @bipinformprotect

That's because Let Me In felt it had to turn everything up a notch. One person caught fire in the original, so they made two people catch fire in the remake. A guy was shown pouring acid over his face before cutting the scene in the original, so in the remake the showed a closeup of his face melting away. Eli's face became slightly twisted when drinking blood, and so Abby got a face from the Exorcist.

Obviously the US film industry does not understand the word "subtlety".

  • @Louchan2 Ahhh ... that makes a lot of sense now ;-)

  • @Louchan2 no, i guess we dont. but we did take your movie up a notch and make it 2 times as good as this one. America always winss.!

  • @Louchan2 What're you talking about? "Let me In" wasn't some action-packed Michael Bay-produced piece of shit.

Are these really such big differences to complain about? Jesus...

  • @TKOblue

    In my opinion, yes.

  • @Louchan2: Well alrighty then.

  • @Louchan2 Oh thank god, Ive been saying that for years. Theres a film called a Town called Alice about prisoners in Japanese military custody and theres a crucifixion scene which is incredibly powerful, but you dont see it. You dont need to see every little grim detail. Its sometimes enough merely knowing what humans are capable of anyway and using that knowledge to draw your own conclusions.

  • I don't full understand this scene...When Oskar was being held down, who's body was that that swished across the water at first? Wouldn't that body have gone through Jimmy's arm? Was his arm cut off before the kid got dragged through the water?

And if one of the other kid's were getting killed by a vampire wouldn't Jimmy be alarmed and let go of Oskar? Wouldn't that mean Jimmy was the first one killed?

Which kid's died first and how did it happen exactly?

  • @shaner217 The kid with the blue tracksuit top was dragged through the water but it was Jimmy's head that got thrown in. It seems that Jimmy was killed first then Eli killed the others while still holding Jimmy's head. She then rips Jimmy's arm off so she could get to Oskar. That's what I think happens. But then again, who cares? Just enjoy the film.

  • @shaner217 maybe he killed jimmy first, then killed the other boys and then ripped off his arm. who cares, the scene is great!

  • this is pretty cool - having a vampire for a girlfriend and nobody fucks around with you, and when they do they die

  • i love it when they both smiling at the end asif they happy to see each other, you dont realy see that in the new version so the film appears to have a darker motive about human slave.

  • The glorification of child murder....this is what Europeans are good for...

  • @seekisforme5

    Your ignorance is monumental.

  • @seekisforme5

Missing the point of the movie... typical American... ;D

  • @Louchan2 He was saying that with satire you dunce.

  • @ChineseEngineer

    And who said I wasn't?

  • @Louchan2 Because you weren't you faggot.

  • @ChineseEngineer

Oh, good thing YOU know, kid. XD

  • @Louchan2 umad.

  • @ChineseEngineer

Lulz, says the one who added an insult you each of his comments.

  • @Louchan2 Doesn't matter if I added an insult or not. It's the fact that you yourself judged him for nothing. Therefore you get the prize of being bitched at.

You're no better than him, who are you to say that? Like always we have some arrogant prick thinking he's superior to everyone. I'm bitching you out because arrogant pricks need to know that they're fail.

  • @ChineseEngineer

    Who's mad now? XD

  • @Louchan2 Nah, just explaining that you're faggot. I'm all good. n _ n

  • @ChineseEngineer

You already used "faggot" once before. But good try anyway. kiddo. ^____^

  • @Louchan2 What does that mean lol? I can call you faggot as many times as I want, doesn't mean I'm mad herp derp.

  • remake was great, original was still better though.

at least they got rid of the terrible cat scene in the remake, but traded that flaw for horrible CGI in the remake.

  • Poor man's t

  • Much better & they did it first.

  • Let the Right One In is far better than Let Me In, I agree Abby is a great young actress but you know when the makers of the film say it wasn't a remake but instead their take on the book, this is non sense. They wanted some of the action for the American market plus CGI wasn't great in Let me in, in my opinion. Whereas in Let The Right One In, I wasn't sure at first if they were using any, it just seemed to blend in better.

Both films are good but in my view Let The Right One In was just that

  • Oscar really does look mentally challenged here.

  • its not just a love drama between 2 kids .it is also a vampire movie. i like Let me In because on how they concentrate on more of abby vampire side and i also like the acting more. LTROI is kinda slow for my taste .n im not saying this because LMI is in english. i saw LTROI first befor Let me In. i dont mind the subtitle,i watch Alot of anime so its easy for me to follow the movie and the surroundings. both movies r great but i like Let me In more because of the acting and Abbys vampire nature

  • Why does everyone have to be so disrespectful and offensive during their arguments? It's ironic that people think the more crude they are the better they portray their point. In reality, it makes people just look like a bunch of idiots.

  • @spartonsfan911 Don't forget to mention Jerks.

  • @ShadesOfRapture Hollywood today =/= Hollywood 40 years ago.

  • This movie is so gay i think it was made by a pedophile for pedophiles.

  • Lmao, i really like this movie and i think its great, but your comment made me laugh. haha. there are some scenes though, that are a bit odd.

  • @TommyTonic10

In a way I would agree but not to that exaggerated extent when it comes to the film. When it comes to the book, well that's another story. The writer does look weird and I must admit that there were parts in the book hard to comprehend. It's still good book but could have easily done without few pages.

  • hey somebody knows wich music is that playing in the radio?

    xD i liked ^^

  • @MrCamo73

You can know by looking at film credits at the end.I think that it should be there, not sure though.

  • @MrCamo73

Flash in the Night by Secret Service.

I really like it too ^^

  • Funny, i didn't like that movie but i love Let Me In.

  • @Fa300

Your fucking retarded to think that the remake was better than the original, how dare you

  • @baboboi01 You're...

  • How dare I give my opinion ?

Good for you if you like that movie, i don't. Try to react like a grown up please.

  • This was one of the scenes where the original's minimalist approach worked better - imo - than it did in the remake.

  • I liked Let Me In more.

  • all thoses little shits had it coming

  • Great scene!

  • anyone know what the song thats plating on the radio is????

  • @class701 Flash In The Night - Secret Service

  • so that's what the inside of an arm looks like...

  • purest ancient love in that bloodline....

  • Just funny that someone here claim he saw that movie 20 time and think it was oskar crying on the bench at the end.

  • held my breath for the whole time he was under water... i feel like i've accomplished something.

  • @ionlylikeoldmusic But were you wearing Speedos at the time?

  • @ionlylikeoldmusic same =)

  • just like let me in

  • the song is not in us itunes :(

  • who sings the song an whats it called?

  • I just always think Oskar needed a haircut. Just sayin'.

  • People can be soo stupid that it is truthfully hilarious. Example : People posting "Why does everything on YT turn into an argumnent?" Someone else replies "Everything on YT is not an argument, you moron".

Now doesn't that reply support the posting of things on YT turning into an argument? FUNNY

  • The bullies got what they deserve.

But I'm EXTREMELY sad because we don't get to hear them scream for their lives!

  • @lancerhammer

no one deserved to die horribly, theres something wrong with u man

  • @secretorganisation hahahahah

  • @secretorganisation People like those "kids" deserve it and then some. All "bullies" deserve to be butchered just like this. All of them.

  • @lancerhammer in let me i you can

  • Execellent scene and movie! There is however one thing with this scene that puzzles me...Why does the guy that holds Oscar underwater keep holding on to him, even though two people got ripped to shreds by a little girl? If I were Eli, I would first kill the arm guy and if I were the arm guy I would let go of Oscar and try to defend myself.

  • @Psych1990 lol i was just thinking that.

  • @Psych1990 I think the guy with the arm was the first to die, it's his head that hits the water. She likely hit him, his hand just locked in place, she killed the other two, then ripped his arm off

  • åh they are all so cute !!! i just love when they die !! makes me wanna dance !

  • it was shown for the first time on national TV today here in Sweden, and I really loved it :)

  • This is Romantic Movie.

  • @fleebenworth LMAO you're arguing with me... Dumb fucking kid, fuck off.

  • This is my favourite scene in the movie.

  • please, what is the name of the song wich is playing from the radio ( 0:15 ) ??

  • @Donchuanprdelus This song is Secret Service - Flash In The Night

  • @dammian54 thanks a lot!! :)

  • How thats one lucky human who i think,

Ows the Vampire back BIG TIME. I mean she saved his life.

  • CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE LAST CAMERA SHOT TO ME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT.

  • @Buffy8Fan Watch the movie.

  • @dillonvillan I've seen the movie at least twenty times thank you. And I'm talking about after Oskar smiles at Eli. Not the whole scene itself. From 4:35 to the end.

  • @dillonvillan I've seen the movie at least twenty times thank you. And I'm talking about after Oskar smiles at Eli. Not the whole scene itself. From 4:35 to the end. My guess is he's helping dispose of the bodies, but then why is he crying?

  • @Buffy8Fan lol, youve seen this at least twenty times and you still havn't realised that it is not oskar crying at the end. haha

  • @Buffy8Fan He was about to dowrn, she saved his life. (The vamprie)

  • @Raven236 I know that. I'm talking about the nuances of what is happening in the last 16 seconds. I can't figure out what is happening or why that part is in the movie.

  • @Buffy8Fan well it helps to know what happened to them, what she would do for him, that she would leave the one who didnt harm him untouched.

  • @Buffy8Fan

The last shot of the boy crying is not Oskar, it's the same boy at 3:08 who was left unharmed for unknown reasons but we can imply because he seemed to be innocent at heart but corrupted under peer pressure?

  • @Epicmexican I have always thought it was because his mannerisms when he was prv. seen -plus this scene - suggested he really didn't want to see Oscar harmed (a 'follower'?) like the others? Plus he 'closed' his eyes when the vampire was seen for the 1st time? Like when Eli 'flew' to Oscar's room for the 1st time?

    This is an excellent film

  • @Epicmexican Thanks for clarifying.

  • Awesome movie this is prolly my top favorite movie even thought i have to read the subtitles ;D.

  • Why the hell does everything on YouTube have to be an argument?! Fuck it's annoying!
