What does "cavinyarns" or whatever the word is when Barbossa is saying that "I care not for King George & (the word in quotation marks) that give hope to a hued limb."
@cutiepatooty123 it's two words, cavin yarns, meaning hollow stories, or meaningless tales : Cav"in\, n. [F. See Cave.] (Mil.) A hollow way, adapted to cover troops, and facilitate their aproach to a place. --Farrow.

This has got to be my favorite part in the entire movie. Barbossa's story -- how he lost his leg and his ship -- sends chills up and down my spine every time I hear it. The ghost sounds in the background, the expression in his voice and on his face, the look on Jack's own face as he puts things together...all that together, plus the story itself of course, makes for an intensity unrivaled by any other scene. And I love it.
I love this scene for 1 reason, irony. Isn't it ironic that Hector is talking to Jack about Revenge and is venting a little bit of that stored rage against a cursed Pirate on a Cursed ship, but when we first met Barbossa, he was the captain on a Cursed ship and was the center of a revenge plot having mutinied against Jack, sparking the rage within Captain Jack Sparrow :)! 1 Poisoned Blade, and 1 Pistol Shot!!!
@crzyfrag Yeah, but I wonder what supernatural power the writers will give the next POTC villain, since each Pirate villain has had some kind of supernatural influence.
I really wish it was more personal instead of Barbossa cutting off his own leg to save himself, Blackbeard should have been the one to take his leg. That way, Blackbeard would've done something truly horrible to Barbossa and thus set the course for personal vengeance.
@TheShadowedOne1 Though the story they have is personal Barbarossa and jack loved the pearl when black bread took the pearl from Barbarossa and turned it against him barbossa was extremely pissed off
The tale how the Black Pearl was lost is kinda like a ghost story to Barbossa and Jack. Got chills in theatres hearing how the Pearl was beaten up. I hope the QAR and the Pearl make thier appearance in POTC 5. :)
I thought they had screwed up Barbossa's character bad, the way they've been screwing up Jack's character. They spent the whole 3rd movie showing how much of a pirate he was and how that wasn't likely to change anytime soon. and just on the next movie, he left his pirate ways, just like that, and lost the Pearl? WTF? Really?! I was so fucking pissed when he first said he lost the Pearl... I hated him...
@trickster7997 that is until this scene came along. It was nothing but a well placed lie to get revenge on the man that so dishonorably took everything from him. To show he was the master of his own fate, and that you just don’t fuck with Barbossa. This has got to be one of the best scenes in the movie. Barbossa, I’m sorry I ever doubted you.
@nmorihisa The only answer you shall get is what MrShapeace got only few comments below...: "What is this? Something being misspelled on the internet? And on YouTube, of all the respectable havens of proper English language!"
Yay! Although, I don't really recall Barbossa telling the story of the Black Pearl at all when I saw it in theaters. Oh well, maybe I was gigling at something at the time. At least I remember the other parts.

@LordMalice6d9 But Beckett doesn't have any supernatural influence.

@Doyleharvestmoon That's why LordMalice6d9 said pirate, not bad guys, Beckett was just an evil guy. that's all.
