no, do look at the sheets. there's nothing more disappointing than making mistakes because of overestimating your memorizing skill. imo it looks better if you constantly look at the sheets and never look at your fingers, because you have to feel where you fingers are and what the key you're about to hit will sound like. so dont try to look cool playing without sheets, instead follow the notes with your eyes and let your fingers do the work.

Pardon me, but that is just bullcrap. A beginner's book would be playing "Greensleeves", not this song. A beginner book would not be using full chords, or full notes, and would be just playing the ACMP chords with a simple melody. She is way past beginner level, she is darn good.
