  • I think that in the moment for the video you had the same problem as me now because the fluency was slower, but i think that in this moment you speak better.

  • Daumen hoch! Deutsch ist eine verdammt schwere Sprache. Muttersprachler können das nicht verstehen. Ich würde dir epfehlen mal einige Zeit in Deutschland zu leben. Das würde deine Aussprache ziemlich verbessern. Viel Glück und Spaß weiterhin am deutsch lernen :)

  • You speak clearly. Germans have a tendency to run their words together quite fast. You are speaking slower than Germans and you have hesitation between your words. Aber Sie spricht

    gut Deutsch.

  • krasser aktzent x3

  • ich habe fast alles verstanden was du gesagt hat :) thumbs up! btw ich bin eine sri lankiiiiiii, :D und spreche auch nicht so gut deutsch :(

anyway viel glück mit deutsch lernen!!

  • I started learning German about one year ago. I speak Spanish as mother language. And I can understand every single word you say in this video very clearly.

  • also ich versteh dein deutsch sehr gut :D

du musst nur weiter üben und mehr deutsch sprechen, dann fällt es dir bestimmt leichter deutsch zu sprechen

  • How long have you been studying German? Sorry I don't think I caught it in the video..

(And off the topic, for someone who was raised in Korea, your english is quite good as well!)

  • Haha.. I live in Korea now, but I've been in Sri Lanka for 7.5 years, studying in an international school. So I guess that explains my English. :)

I've been learning German for nearly 7 years now. Considering that, my speaking is quite tragic.. :(

  • I can understand your german very well!

  • @etherealjiwon Dude buy the Pimsler Approch, all you have to do is listen to a cd and you'll learn the lang. it's like how a baby learns how to talk, by taking words from convos. and use them.

  • Your pronunciation was clear enough that a beginner with less than 6 hours of study (that'd be me) was able to understand the first 2 minutes almost perfectly :D.

*browses the rest of your channel*

  • Really? That's quite encouraging to hear. But from many comments I've received, I was able to compose the following conclusion:

My German sounds foreign to Germans, but quite German to foreigners.

Oh, and may I ask, what did you think about my other videos? :-)

  • I haven't seen your videos but I will give them a look :D

As for the accent: it didn't sound native but you spoke clearly and well :D

  • Your pronounciation is pretty decent for an Asian guy. But you should work on your R. I know that it's not that easy and lots of Asians have that problem but it's a good way to improove your accent.

Deine Aussprache ist schon sehr gut für einen Asiaten. Aber du solltest etwas an deinem R arbeiten. Ich weiss, dass es nicht einfach ist und viele Asiaten damit probleme haben aber es ist eine gute Möglichkeit, deine Aussprache zu verbessern.

  • So if I was a European instead of an Asian, my pronunciation would be quite bad? XD

  • No, not really. But it's a typical Asian accent. For example the Americans have their own accent and there are good and bad speakers.

I know a girl here on youtube and it's nearly not possible to recognize that she's from America. She speaks with Franconian accent - that's funny.

Try to speak with native speakers to enhance your accent. And you have to invest a bunch of time to eradicate one mistake after the other. Just record words and compare it to the native speaker.

  • The main problem is that we hear ourself quite different from that what others hear. If you record yourself and then just listen to it you get a good feeling how your vioce sounds to others.

So don't try to change your voice that YOU think your accent is great. Record it and listen to it afterwards. Then try to modulate your voice slightly and record it again until it sounds nearly like the native speaker.

  • Thank you for your advice. :)

  • No problem! Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

  • I do not speak German and do not know it.

but I watch german program and you seem pronounce it well.

    keep going
