A lot of torture devices have been revealed to be hoaxes made by people several centuries after they were supposedly used. There's no written records of the so-called iron maidens being used in medieval times and witches were actually mostly hanged rather than burned at the stake (which would use up precious wood people ill could afford at that time).

If they wanted to boil a human they'd just do it the simple way, no need for some expensive brazen bull with complex tubing in it.
