  • I an American and thank God I grew up in Detroit. I was able to get 88.7FM and all of the Great Canadian music that came with it! Canada sure knows hot to rock!

  • Easy people...."Hip" doesn't need defending. They are who and what they are. Great.

  • theres nothing wrong with hating on The Tragically Hip. they have a very defined and unique sound. denying that it is INDEED an acquired taste that a lot of people will not enjoy is purely incomprehensible.

for the record i think theyre fuckin legit

  • The legit-est hahahaha \m/

  • if you disagree - lets lace up the skates n see

  • the HIP rock from the heart - CANADA rules! America, Britain, and Japan lick balls - just accept it - we're the superior race

  • @randersona We're not a race.

  • @randersona damn straight ;)

  • @randersona Dude, stop disgracing our peaceful status with your verbal idiocy. 'Canadian' is not a race and your insults are just childish. Cut it out.

  • exactly! lol

  • @randersona we're not a race and we don't think we're more superior then anyone. that's what makes us canadian. everyones equal bud.

  • Jimi Hendrix father is Canadian

  • SPRING STOMPS AND MY HEART IS POUNDIN WHEN I BIRD IN THE TREES WITH A WRECKIN CARDS FINAL COUNTDOWN!!

  • Great drum track... reminds me of "Prayin for the Rain" by Junkhouse, another top-notch Canadian band.

  • @ scrubsrules98 WOOT WOOT

  • your all gay now stop arguing n smoke a dubeee YEAAAAAAAYUH!!

  • DramaTube... how poetic.. the highest rated comment is drama for this song? come on ladies...

  • I love this song... because i remember the "ice storm" that hit the eastern

part of Canada. I was living in N.B. I would play this C.D. and listen,

to the ice crashing down all around me... it was the most amazing thing!

  • The tragically hip is the shit btw to everyone. Years and years of quality music so fuck everyone who hates on the hip

  • yes...

  • @YEaYO420 IF THEY HATE IT,WHY WOULD THEY LOOK UP THE SONG?

  • wheres the actual music video? cant find it whats this picture bullshit

  • cuz gord downie can get behind nething.

  • why dont u go fuck urself u dirty hillbilly. Go watch NASCAR redneck, ur brain cant handle the idea of a car making anything more then a left hand turn. We have the 3 best bands ever- RUSH, HIP, THE GUESS WHO, go listen to Free Bird u little fuck!!!

  • hahahaha im not redneck at all... i live in Cali. Actually I listen to Rush and the Guess Who, and i love classic rock. Btw Free Bird actually is a good song... I absolutely loathe NASCAR. 500 miles of left turns? no thanks. I drive a Merc. American cars blow. Anyways, as someone who listens to all sorts of music and plays music, i just dont hear anything phenomenal.

  • free bird is good tho but i agree

  • buddy...calm down. no need to get all offensive. especially over youtube. what did that guy ever do to you? the tragically hip's music speaks of peace and unity.

dont give everyone the impression that us canadians are easy to offend, they'll start toying with us.

and FYI,i agree, those three bands are amazing, but freebird is an awesome song. all bandwidths and genres of music should be respected.

as a musician,i can say, there is no good and bad when it comes to music.

    peace out,from ontario

  • From one Torontonian, Ontarian, Canadian, citizen of the world to another,,,, AMEN brother.

  • @billaroyamaha2 you may be Torontonian, but i am SASKATCHEWANIAN. beat that.

  • @scrubsrules98 well said, it's a;; about the music, all of it.. ;)

    bronx.

  • @scrubsrules98 Two thumbs up for that bit of brilliance right there.

  • @scrubsrules98 hahaha it's true though. we're not that easy to offend. don't take ourselves that seriously.we like a good joke

  • @scrubsrules98 OT Rep non of this dissin common nothing but straight lovin

  • @scrubsrules98 the best advice always comes from Ontario. keep rockin buddy.

  • i love you. as a brother

  • @joeltoth2 Woah calm down please! The dude just has an opinion thats all. He barely even said anything offensive! The dude dissed his own country and your bitching at him? Fuck. Just shut up now. Everyone has their opinions respect that.

    Im from Canada too btw.

  • @joeltoth2 You might a stupid fuck, but your country has good music. The best musician to come from Canada was Neil Young, He's now an American citizen. Rush is second, the hip third. The Guess Who, well, they just stole their name from the Who and tried to make music as good as them and kind of failed. The Who is from Europe so.. But America has good music too. Bob Dylan, Jimmy Herndrix. and Lenard Skynard is pretty good, and pivotal when it comes to Classic rock. Don't generalize my friend.

  • @diabolical168 I don't think JImi Hendrix or Bob Dylan was/is American, but thats ok, still great artists

  • @stovocore jimi hendrix was born in america and most of his background is from there or native american, no clue about bobby

  • @TonzoSilvzburnherb oh duh... you're right... he was born in seattle which is why they have the experience music project there!

  • Because.

Why is yours so obsessed with The Jonas Brothers? Miley Cyrus? Rap? Horribad pop? At least The Tragically Hip isn't absolute crap.

Also, this is not their best song.

  • Because this country has no brains or intelligence, and therefore has no taste. its pathetic i will admit. And I definitely didn't say The Tragically Hip was crap. haha the only reason I decided to see if they were good was because one of my teachers has been to canada quite a bit, and was telling us how "if you went anywhere in canada and said "i love the Tragically Hip", you'd get a hug and be praised forever." which was of course an exaggeration. but yeah. thats all.

  • @NitraKing Then obviously you are missing the cleverness of Gord Downies writting. I suppose its not for everyone, since the lyrics are very intellectual and for some people, the irony is deliciously understandable. All I can say is, if you can't see what we are seeing then you are REALLY missing out man!!! :p

  • dig dig dig it!

  • tuuuuuuune
