Most under-rated Canadian band ever. With my dear friend and highly under-rated drummer himself, Mr. Steve Negus. I/we miss you buddy. And The Golden Cue is gone too :o( Keep enjoying your life m8.....Cheers !!
Ah yes, the typical girl hanging off a guys back and both of them running down a street. Seems those scenes were in every other video back in the mid to late 80's.
"Behaviour" was at iTunes for a time last yr but it got taken off. Same w/Walmart. They had it too. Nowadays this is a very hard to find album even though it's currently on CD. I'm not too confident in paying $10 for a CD I'm not sure I'm going to like. I did that before & I'm kicking myself for doing it. I wish iTunes would re-add this album so we can just buy individual songs. I've tried writing Sony-BMG & that was a total wate of time. Record companies don't care about their consumers.
I liked Saga's early works but this somewhat reminds me of mid 80's synth-pop/soft-rock like Johnny Hates Jazz, Thompson Twins, Go West, Breathe & Howard Jones. Still not all that bad. I bet this song gets abundant airplay on Canadian soft-rock radio stations still to this day though. Was only a minor AOR hit here in America. Probably should've been a big pop hit too.
AHHH now I know why they faded into oblivion. I always wondered why I didn't really hear or see them after early 84 when they played my town supporting Quiet Riot.
It's because they went on to make this bland, middle of the road stuff.
@LPcustom76 Don't generalize. The 1980's were a decade full of different styles. Some may appeal to you, some not. Besides, Silent Knight was an 80's album. It's just obvious that fans of Progressive Rock/New Wave won't automatically like Synth Pop/Adult Contemporary music. To some the contrast may be bigger than to others. Shows you there's a difference between each style.
@LPcustom76 You must be either damn closed minded and ignorant or a troll. It's not bad music. I have a rather eclectic taste in music, so I can dig different sounds. I know the same doesn't apply to everyone, but calling it bad is a dumb statement. It covers the aspects of a good song in Synth Pop/AC. It's just not Progressive Rock, so it doesn't feature the arts of that genre. Neither does it represent the 1980's as a decade. If you go that way I must conclude you're a detractor selling bogus.
@LPcustom76 Saga was always a band that played the boundaries between Progressive Rock, New Wave and Synth Pop. Even here there are elements of Prog. The background and guitar solo for example. I would say that whenever the sounds are that different to the original concept of a band they should probably rename. I'm a big heavy Rock and Metal fan myself, but I wouldn't pass a band like Saga for it. Silent Knight doesn't match that either. They are what they are, so I judge them like that.
I met Jim Critchton in the early 80's at Marty Morin's cabbagetown home , whom was a friend of my girlfriend at the time . I didn't know who these poeple were at the time i was just a young kid ( 20's) . We smoked a fatty and drank beer on a nice summer afternoon . To me they were just regular poeple but realize know with whom and where i was priviliged to be . It was great time and memory to have .
Can you believe that Michael has left Saga.....???? What is wrong with this dude? Its the only time he has ever been successful, we used to stand in line to see Saga in Europe, they were the most exciting, unconventional sound around......man...some people don't understand what they have.
Now listen, I probably know Michael a little bit better than you, and his decision is okay, he became a father for the first time, he's absolutely happy. If you'd work 30 years in the same department you'd get bored anytime, too! And Michael's still there, he's working on a lot of things, 2nd album, guest vocals on great prog projects with James LaBrie and so on... Keep cool, I know that he thought about this decision more than once, and if it's what makes him happy, it's okay :)
@Billingford2nd The fact is that the motivation comes from within...There are many artists who continue to perform more than 30 years with a group and continue to inspire others. Apparently the fans who supported him are not his priority at this point in his life.
@cressav I love Saga and I was sad that Michael left, but his decision was not made lightly. His wife was ill and he had a new baby to look after. No matter what, family should always come first.
Would Love To See Someone On Youtube Post Some More Footage From There Behavior Tour. That Was Truly A High Point In SAGA. They Put On Some Truly Awesome Shows During 85'
@RockJunkie04 I would not call it the high point of Saga's carear. Although this is a well produced album, the move to a more contemporary AOR sound of the mid 80's from their progressive rock genre of the late 70's and earlier 80's really splintered their fan base. Many fans liked the "Behaviour" album, but many other old Saga fans were at best indifferent to the album. Some might have even detested it. Regardless of which genre, Saga's always an amazing band, and fantastic to watch live.
Wow..Highschool all over again! My favourite song by Saga!
