@yankeesfan2627 you mean Burton C. Bell ; ) Nice playing man. I can see the effort you made with all the samples and everything. The only thing I could fault you on was I think the hi hat is played more often in the verses part. Sounds like 4 closed hi hats then snare followed by open hi hat.
very cool dude, i really like how you actually use the mandala pads. i just uploaded my own drum cover of this song, if anyone wanted to check it out i would really appreciate it. good job though
can you do the grudge? i would love to see that. im trying to learn it and i just need to learn the part right before the drum solo at the end and i got it
I'm sure your getting a bunch of jerks, telling you how your not playing a certain part right, not holding the sticks right, your posture is wrong, your hair isn't like Danny's, you need to play harder.. ahhhhh bullshit. You killed it bro!!!
Alright, just so I can join in on all the bitchy asses and make some kind of rude comment to keep tradition alive... Where are the monster faces??? You should eat some raw steak when you play or something.. lol great job man!!!
@ricardoieci the head very tight, the bottom medium tight (didn't change the factory setting), the wires depend on the song. On vicarious they are fairly tight, on the next one rather loose.
You know you're a great drummer, so I won't give you compliments....j/k.....you're awsome man! How old are you? Please start a music project...there are too many shitty bands out there with drummers who don't know what the hell they're doing. One question though.....I noticed during the break at around 2:50 you put your hand on your first floor tom. Are you muting it or is it just one of those "ticks" that just comes out? BTW....You are reason I can play Triad now. Thank you.
@DeLL116 thanks! I'm 34. I try to work on a little EP or so whenever I find the time (not very often, sadly). That hand-on-the-floor thing was just subconsciously to keep balance, because my old tom setup was a little uncomfortable (both rack toms at the right side of the snare, and the 2nd one very far to the right) and I always had to shift weight. I've changed the setup since then and don't need to do this floor tom thing anymore.
Excellent job. Sounds really really really good. Looks like lots of fun too. Your kit sounds perfect. I love the sound of your china. What kind is it?
Excellent job. Sounds really really really good. Looks like lots of fun too. Your kit sounds perfect. I love the sound of your china. What kind is it?
ok so i did what you did and i chopped up each mandala intro sample from the origional song and i put each one on itunes, so what i want to know is can you take the samples from itunes and put them onto the software that comes with the mandala?
@LTLfilms I'm not sure what itunes has to do with this, but you can import the sample files into the virtual brain, yes. I haven't done this myself yet, though, because I use battery instead of the VB.
@LTLfilms it runs a lot more stable than the VB, and most importantly it can run as a plug-in within a recording software, like cubase. the VB runs as a standalone software only. and battery has a really great sample library.
@thekillingjoke oh... i think id rather prefer VB because i realy never used something like the mandala and the VB looks pretty simple, mabey if i have the need for something as complex as batery then i will get it
thanks about the eq info, i,ve sampliidue running on a tascam us1641,how do u add compression could u specify a bit more,is it through the mixer panel?
@ricardoieci yes, i put the compression into the mixer panel inserts. for the bass drum I choose the advanced dynamics preset "bass drum" preset, and for the snare and toms I take the multiband dynamics preset "MaxPresence" and do a little fine tuning from that point on. On the overheads I sometimes set a little advanced dynamics compression as well, to get more cymbal sustain. In the master channel I don't use compression that much, only a limiter to -0.1 dB if necessary.
im geting a mandala soon and ive tryed to chop up the samples from the intro in the song but its not working when i play it back is there a way i can download the sample and load it onto the software that comes with the mandala ?
@LTLfilms so you have the samples files ready and they don't play in the virtual brain? I've never tried to load own samples into the VB though, i only use Battery. So I'm not sure what the problem might be. There is a google discussion group for the mandala (just search for "google group mandala"), maybe there's someone who can help.
See! YOU are the only drummer playing the hi-hat part correctly on the beginning verse of this song. Like the gentlemen stated below, your attention to the details is appreciated.
