And the huge growth of the industry due to the war has given it a bad name...largely due to cowboy mentality.  But Scahill gives the impression that the free market has failed...when it's really corporatism he should be attacking.

The growth comes out of an unnecessary need. People are so dumb to believe that war is a viable means to establishing economic growth. Sheep minded people are the one's who suffer and feel they are progressing because they can kill innocent people.

What's the point? The blame still lies with the politicians and not the men on the ground.

Blackwater isn't the problem. It's a symptom of the problem. I've taken a class from them, and they're good solid Americans. The problem is no-bid contracts, an overextended military, and cronyism.

The problem is war.

Sure. But we're at war...in multiple countries. Until that changes, or until we reinstate a draft, we don't have the manpower without private contractors.

Clinton used more contractors per soldier in Bosnia than Bush has in Afghanistan/Iraq.
