As CN's parent corporation (AOL/Time Warner?) gets larger they have to pull in more and more revenue. What was considered a profit five years ago is no longer enough. That's why they're trying to compete more and more with Nickelodeon and Disney Channel today, to take their viewers and make more money.
These spots, which cost roughly $1,000 per second are no longer cost efficient.
Sorry, the originals are archived on digi-beta and in storage about 3,000 miles away. So I won't be able to upload those anytime soon. But I'll keep you posted if anything changes.
My guess is that he's more or less referring to only the Cartoon Network stuff, as this reel was posted to a Cartoon Network nostalgia forum sometime last week.

Hey Klahd222 do you know why I can find some of those bumpers?
ECDT1089 2 years ago
Unfortunately, no. Unless you have access to the Turner Studios archives. :)
Klahd222 2 years ago
Why Cartoon Network? WHY!?!!!!!! Ya'll had some good bumpers back then!!! At least keep these awesome bumpers!!!!
Rcoaxum1 2 years ago
Yeah, we were really disappointed when they starting asking for less and less "on-air" animated content.
Klahd222 2 years ago
I think that Cartoon Network should have at least kept some of these bumpers for the new shows. It would have been better...
Rcoaxum1 2 years ago
They can't afford it anymore. :(
Klahd222 2 years ago
Oh they can't?? Man, I didn't know that Cartoon Network couldn't afford these bumpers. What happened?

So, once Cartoon Network gets more money currently, then they might be able to post these bumpers back again?
Rcoaxum1 2 years ago
May I ask, what happened to cartoons? Nowadays, they're all flash animated, poorly written pieces of dog crap.
dexter111344 3 years ago
I must say that not ALL the flash animation is bad, but I completely sympathize.

You rock.
Did you go to Calarts?
RobochaoXX 3 years ago
No, I'm self-taught. I would have loved to have gone to Cal Arts or Sheridan though.
Klahd222 3 years ago
Oh self-taught.
That's kickass.
We need more individuals like you, instead of people that just run off to Disney.

Could you upload the we'll be right back clips of Time Squad and Grim and Evil? I never knew there were clips of those, but I loved this reel anyway.

Wow, I didn't know Grim & Evil had one of those blue backgrounds! (But I guess I didn't have cable anymore by then).

The "Smelly Telly" event happened in 1999.

And... my reel was put together circa 2004.
Klahd222 3 years ago
Really? Well, that's nice. Unfortunately, the full clips are all on digi-beta boxed up in storage.
Klahd222 3 years ago
Sweet! You have the We'll Be Back "Train Chase". Bad thing I only could see half of the part. But good reel anyway.
