I agree with you. But there have been 1 Catholic priest, 4 non-denominational Pastors and 2 Rabbis who have tried to tell me that God did not invent evil. They couldn't reconcile the fact that nothing exists unless God made it and that if evil exists then He made that too. The conversations would usually end with something like "That's just how it is. God is God and we are just people who don't understand it all". They couldn't fit it into their equation.

Another view is that Jesus died on Thursday. I take the view Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday. All prophecies state He will rise on the third day. (Matthew 16: 21, 17:23, 20:19, 27:64, Luke 9:22, 18:33, etc...)
The events of the gospels seem to correlate best with a Friday crucifixion. Only one passage talks about him being in the grave three days and three nights, Matthew 12:40. If not for this one passage, all scholars would agree on a Friday crucifixion.
In Aramaic, there is an idiom "three days and three nights" which means three days or parts of days. It's like our saying, "I worked day and night to finish this project." We don't mean we literally worked 24 hours without stopping. "Three days and three nights" is not meant to be taken to mean literally 72 hours.
I am sorry to tell you this pal, but the Bible has many versions and the most literal versions do say " x days and x nigths" because the hebrews meassured the days form sunset to sunset, so in the "sunrise of the third day" (wich comes after the nigth of the third day) he came back to life.

I agree with you. But there have been 1 Catholic priest, 4 non-denominational Pastors and 2 Rabbis who have tried to tell me that God did not invent evil. They couldn't reconcile the fact that nothing exists unless God made it and that if evil exists then He made that too. The conversations would usually end with something like "That's just how it is. God is God and we are just people who don't understand it all". They couldn't fit it into their equation.

i do not mean to sound nasty but i have gotten this far through this movie and by the end of the fifth chapter i was actually falling asleep. seriously. and i had ten hours sleep last night too so it's not because i was sleepy but because all this bible quoting is bloody boring.

he doesn't disprove anything presented by zeitgeist, he keeps saying that it is likely that so and so without making a sound case. besides if you're going to make an outrageous claim like god impregnated a virgin or that a ark was built that could fit 2 of every animal on earth then the burden of proof in on you. the bible is not a historical account but a book of myth and its authors cannot be verified. there is no historical evidence that moses ever existed.

Also I remind you Pinkky84, that the church made changes to the traditions in chritianity in the past 1500 years and (I know this migth be shocking for you) to the Bible, and not many would know because from the dark ages to maybe 1800´s most people could not read it out of the clergy. The thing is, in order to understand christianism and it´s evolution is better to look into it´s origins as well as it´s history up to now so you know if Jesus really did or say what anyone tells you.

I already heard those accusations, they mostly come from some protestants (reformators). And then archeological discoveries in 19th and early 20th century showed that church didn't change it, NOT A SINGLE LETTER. People at that time perhaps couldn't know. But when you compare todays Bible, and mid-age Bible, and original texts discovered in 19th and 20th century, you can drop all the charges against church regarding this matter.
And in "dark ages" people COULD read Bible. Also false accusation

I have bunch of text and articles about this, but in my language - croatian. Sorry, but I don't have time to translate it, I don't speak english that good, and comments on youtube are limited. So this was just information for all of you - search, there must be something in your language. Those two things about changing Bible and about reading Bible in dark ages are false accusations. Just find something in your language. So if someone is interested...get on the job.

I agree that what matters was not how he died but what he teached OR reminded us. Also it is truth that Christmas and Easter took a lot of pagan rituals and some say it was because christians needed to hide their rituals from the romans when they were hunted but that migth not be correct. Anyway, people forgot about that and kept those pagan simbols that were once used for survival .

If christianity itself seems to be divided in innumerable sect, how can myths dating 2000 BC be criticized as having "multiple versions"?

First of all, he never mentioned nights. Yes, if it is 3 days, it is logical that it will also be 3 nights, but you cannot quote Jesus and put Him words in His mouth that He never said!
Also, not 3 days and 3 nights - because he said that HE WILL ARISE ON THE 3rd DAY!

Another view is that Jesus died on Thursday. I take the view Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday. All prophecies state He will rise on the third day. (Matthew 16: 21, 17:23, 20:19, 27:64, Luke 9:22, 18:33, etc...)

The events of the gospels seem to correlate best with a Friday crucifixion. Only one passage talks about him being in the grave three days and three nights, Matthew 12:40. If not for this one passage, all scholars would agree on a Friday crucifixion.

In Aramaic, there is an idiom "three days and three nights" which means three days or parts of days. It's like our saying, "I worked day and night to finish this project." We don't mean we literally worked 24 hours without stopping. "Three days and three nights" is not meant to be taken to mean literally 72 hours.

I am sorry to tell you this pal, but the Bible has many versions and the most literal versions do say " x days and x nigths" because the hebrews meassured the days form sunset to sunset, so in the "sunrise of the third day" (wich comes after the nigth of the third day) he came back to life.

No, there is only one version, and many translations. Some of them inacurate. Catholic Church is using correct original texts. If you are in doubt, check Bible that is in use in Catholic Church, in your language.

Pal, focus on the matter at hand. I am also talking about the Bible wich you should know was originally written in hebrew language and the writing style they used to describe periods of time was (either simbolical or literally) measured with days and nigths. If I cite the verses those would be the ones you read as with only days. I am from Mexico and rised as a Catholic, and at least in the versions I read (greek, english and of course spanish) it says both days and nigths.

I am focused, totally. I have greek version at home, and will read it when I catch some time. For now - if you have read those verses - they clearly show that Jesus will arise ON the 3rd day, and that they burried him on friday in the evening, and that the tomb was empty already in sunday morning. So I really don't see what is the problem?

One simple thing. December and winter in America, and december and winter in Israel are two different things. So... yes, it makes sense....but it can be both ways... december or no december, it doesn't matter. The point is to dedicate one day in a year to birth of Jesus. Why coincidence with pagan holiday? SIMPLE - why did christians made churches out of pagan temples? Same answer. Put 2 and 2 together. To put an end to pagan religion! Because otherwise many people would celebrate both days.

Hum... as a matter of fact, in the begining it was because they were hunted by romans before Christianity was accepted as the Empires religion. Later on it became a way to make it easy for others to bbecome Christians and later on was the reason you cited. But I agree in what matters is to celebrate Jesus birth.

Jesus did not say that He would be in the "tomb" three days and three nights. He said "in the heart of the earth." (Mat 12:40) This is a figuration of speech: the heart means feeling or thoughts of the mind; the earth means globe, with all of its occupants.

This sabbath was called a high day when the festival sabbath and the weekly Sabbath fell on the 7th day. The high day was not just a reference of the festival sabbaths as the Bible does not indicate.

No my friend, there was no catholicism in the begining of christianity. Christinaity became a official religion of the empire in about 300 AD, and the roman chruch had o power over the church at this point... the roman chruch started to make mistakes long after the foundation of the church. the amove video is totalli wrong. becareful with what u watch.

actually I must remove that comment because I was almost pulled off the wrong path by these so-called prophets thank Jesus for fellow Christians who encourage you when you are in question and thank Jesus to fellow Christians who pull you back onto that path. I still however know that the catholic church is evil not the members and maybe not some of the priests and nuns. But it is a system and Jesus was against systems especially religious ones.

Oh believe me it has definantly strengthed my faith. There are times were I'm ALMOST pulled astray but Jesus reminds me to look ahead. Unlike many I look forward to the times ahead as True Christians should. I desire for our Lord Jesus Christ to return, take his kingdom back, and wipe out all evil, hate, pain, and death. :-)

First he never said Santa was a pagan thing, just the date, and some of the traditions were pagan. Which makes sense, if someone converts to a different religion, they want to still keep some traditions and festivals, they just celebrated Jesus instead of pagan gods. Santa Claus comes from St. Nicholas, who was a Catholic Saint who would bring toys to orphans. Coca cola is responsible for the modern idea of Santa, and helped make him popular, but not for his creation.
