i just put on my new belt and my ped is now running slowly. it takes ages to get up to 35 mph then doesnt go beyond there. it used to go to about 47 mph no problem. do i have to wear int he belt or something? please reply
paper serves to maintain the drive without the wheels fall if it falls you have to disassemble the drive to put the wheels in place (sorry for bad english google translate)
No hes not.. He put that there to prevent the variator from sliding forward because there is no belt there to hold it in place. Otherwise, the rollers would have fallen out.
what size belt did you buy? i bought a 845 20-30 and it seems to wide.....it doesnt drop in thethe one on left like yours did and my clutch side is staying down in the middle not raising to the top when its starts.....i dont know if its the belt or the clutch...email if yall have any ideas. Anythanggoesentray@yahoo.com
how hard is it to change drive belt on 4 stroke scooter? if its worn will it make the scooter vibrate? will it cause more problems? is there any special thing you do to put it on ex: put it on the right spot etc? thanks alot! james
how hard is it to change drive belt on 4 stroke scooter? if its worn will it make the scooter vibrate? will it cause more problems? is there any special thing you do to put it on ex: put it on the right spot etc? thanks alot!
@7jamespm It's not hard at all just be sure to replace the gasket cover before you put the belt on. I recommend the gates 842/20/30 for a cy6 150cc engine
this is ok if the spring is soft but if its hard, you'll have trouble compressing it to losen the old belt, still i can be done just put a lot of effort thats all
please help me with my problem, my honda dio, had been in flood water for a couple of days, and when we overhaul the engine, my scooter lose its torque, cant even move a child, what would i do to fix this problem? tnx
i have a question.. when i accelerate and the scooter starts to move the bike give me a kick, then all works ok, this happen only when it starts to move, could be my clutch?? i have suzuki an125 tank you
its either your spring is weak or you have super powers...removing it that way is impossible but yet you did it..how? I can't compress my rear spring even with the help of anyone....
however, if your belt snapped this won't work, because the weights in the variator are invariably thrown out of their ramps and the scooter will be locked in the equivalent of top gear all the time
@Scootertuner1000 Depends on what design variator your motor uses. I've had engines that were both ways (my current one had a backing plate which prevents them being ejected). However, it is a real concern on some scooters so it is a good idea IMHO to change the belt at the suggested interval (every 8000km or 5000mi) or earlier if you suspect damage, fraying or stretching.
@otakop67 Yes, my CN250 engine has a plate at the back to stop the weights coming out, but most scooters don't especially GY6 engines. I have known people who have put new belts on using this method and then wondered why their acceleration is so bad.
why did you put a stopper thing in the variator?? Is that really important? My belt was worn and came off while I was riding...can I just replace it like you did here? Thank you!
@PJD1286 Depends on what GY-6 motor you have. The variator on some have a backing plate held on with 3 bolts that prevent the roller weights from falling out on removal or belt failure. His probably doesn't have this so he uses a cardboard wedge to hold it in place in absence of the belt.
Hi there, i did an identical belt change on my aerox. thing is, i cant start it because the belt is so tight and the starter motor can't turn it over, i have tried kikcing it but only stays started for a second or two. can anybody help me? thanks :)
do not buy from county scooter, they are being investigated for fraud, check yourselves on Ripoffreportdotcom, search for county imports, and see for yourselves al the issues concerning this company, its really sad what they do to paying honest customers!
i have a spring loaded clutch bell i cant move the two plates to one side how would i go abouts doing this as i have a suzuki katana ay50 could someone please help
Best bit of virtual advice I ever saw; such a big help...and I was going to use a tyre lever or gear puller to remove the cvt or main shaft pulley! You've probably got a manual I bet!
great help mate but can u please say what you are doing for people like me none mechanically inclined?, please i am having problems with mine :( i need 2 calibrate the Carburetor its running ok BUT i can tell its suturing at high speeds any suggestions/ by the way after i saw ur video went and got my belt and replaced thank you for posting your video please send me any videos or links that might help me thank you aging:)
the belt?, its cvt continuously variable transmission, u see how he pulled the back pulley towards himself, its spring loaded, so the more gas u give it the more it tightens up,the less you give the more it loosens, there is no adjustment on it
i recently changed my cvt belt on a 2008 roketa 50cc and now i dont have the power it once had it bogs down win i give it gas also the clutch is making a winning noise any suggestions?
I have almost the same bike and (as the guys at the shop told me), the rollers in the variator pulley have to be in their slots and what not when you put on a new belt (by taking off the front sprocket with an air compressor impact wrench, I did all that, put it back to together and when I give it gas it just dies. Anyone, message me if they have any ideas.
This is great...BUT...I can't seem to compress the clutch!!! The damned spring is just too tight on my 150! Took off the front variator, which was no problem since I have an electric impact wrench. But, in order to get the belt BACK on, I have to compress the rear clutch, and I just can't get the grip on there. Is there a trick to somehow make compressing the spring plate a bit easier?
But like I said this video here can't help all scooter/moped owners. It's not a bad video I guess, it's just that it's not the same setup for every machine. He does show how to loosen the belt which is a good start.

hi i have a 50cc scooter and i got the same exact belt as the one the snapped and its not going on i think its the fan type thing towards the front of the scooter i see u put something there to hold it open i think mine is rite up against the fan thing i couldn't get it to separate and i didn't want to brake anything do i have to unbolt it then put the belt on????
I have a 50 cc Roketa, that problem has happened to me a few times, and when it was serious, turned out that the magneto was worn out, 2nd and 3rd times, it was the rollers in the variator pulley that needed replacing. Also, not having the proper amount of oil and a clean spark plug can cause that.
If you have trouble, on some 50cc's it might be easier (and sometimes necessary) to remove the variator (best to use is probably an impact wrench), put the belt on, then reattach the variator.
my belt blew up well it rip you know any web pages were i can find it? or the part # i have the same scooter nice trick with the paper,
