  • I guess there's no reason for him to sweat, unless this really is part of the simulation and them trying to trick him into getting out of the simulation was.......

    Oh damn.

  • its tuhoorbow time

  • for the memory of a lifetime! Rekall! Rekall! Rekaaall!

  • Sick film. Imo it kicks Matrix's ass on the Cartesian Doubt concept.

  • What is that prozac ? Paxil?

  • Comment removed

  • Seems a bit harsh to shot the guy.

  • RIP roy brocksmith (the doctor in this) i love this movie so much it saddens me to know one of the actors whole played a role in this film has passed away

  • @Brady2k10 Check out the guy doing Turbo Views stuff for the Turbographix-16. Sounds almost exactly like Mr. Brocksmith.. Just look up Turbo Views on youtube.

  • So if he shoots the guy (assuming its a dream) the guy will be fine and wake up... like in Inception.

  • The red pill there reminds me a little of The Matrix.

  • @BTJFilms The red pill was in this movie first, you do know that, right?

  • @normalpsychology Of couse I know that. The Matrix probably took inspiration from that.

  • *BOOM HEADSHOT* Consider it da divorce !!! lol

  • Hi im a Johnny Cab

  • I got five kids to feed

  • Everything the Doctor said came true:

1: "The walls of reality will come crashing down" - After he shoots the Doctor, the walls literally come crashing down.

2: "One minute you'll be the savior of the rebel cause, the next Cohagin's boosum buddy" - That happened!

3: "Fantasies about alien civilizations" - YUP!!!

4: "Back on Earth you'll be lobotomized" - White light at end of movie was Arnold going bye bye.

  • @bbasher79 You fail to realize that if he was in a dream at this point when the doctor offered him the pill, then the doctor would not be sweating like a nigger on a rape charge - he notcies the sweat on the docs head shoots him and then the jake comes!

  • @bbasher79 Spot on. As a cumulative case you are on the right side. Plus there is much more to add.

  • how can it be a dream?? his wife is really there right? and when he shoots the guy she flips out shows her true colours...if it was a dream she wouldn't be acting like that

  • @SuperMidgetinaBikini unless he made it with his mind just like that sweat on dr edgemar's head

  • verhoeven's action movies always let you stop and think about the absurdity of what you're watching, then goes back to being an absurd action movie :D

  • Dam Wachowsky brother ripped off this movie

  • Red pill? What if he takes the blue pill?

  • the one thing that is certain is that it IS a dream. that isnt even up for debate. arnie and the director confirmed it in the commentary. what is uncertain is whether what is happening in this scene is actually an attempt by rekall to save quaid from brain damage, or it is just another part of quaids rekall fantasy to make it more exciting and outlandish. one thing is for sure, either way, it isnt real.

  • Escena que luego plagió Amenabar de manera descarada.

  • Never let 'em see you sweat.

  • I wish more of the movie had been like this, PKD's story really deserved a little more finesse.

  • the movie is a dream commencing when he lies down in the rekall chair. Beforehand the salesman lays out what happens to him. Then the technicians tell him about "blue sky on mars", the girl is the same, the "alien artifacts" are identical. Then this scene literally spells out the entire plot of the movie. Unfortunaty, at the end poor quaid is lobotomized.

  • @auerwack Well, *maybe* Quaid is having a psychotic episode as outlined by the doctor. Or maybe everything went right, and he's getting *exactly* the vacation scenario he requested, seamlessly integrated with his actual life as a construction worker. Or maybe he really is a secret agent, and his subconscious prior knowledge of Melina and the rest informed his selections at Rekall. Although the final fade to *white* suggests otherwise...

  • ha ha ha ha bul sssssssssshit

  • hahahah bull shit

  • The problem with this movie is a big one. Arnold was badly miscast in this picture. BADLY MISCAST. What was a fairly intriguing storyline because nothing but a bang, bang, shoot'em up by the end of the film. It just lost any core science fiction that Dick created. And Arnold, as we know, can't act AT ALL.

  • @cutis1000 BooolSHEET!!!

  • 00:16 CLINT EASTWOOD's face

  • The movie is a dream. The director has confrimed it at the end of the directors commentary.

He even mentions during this point in the movie that the doctor explains in exact detail what is going to happen for the rest of the movie.

It is a dream and arnold doesn't wake up at the end, he is lobotomized.

  • I AM AAAGGNNALD! GEEET DOWN~!

  • I love these movies which end ambigious (though this one was only slightly ambigious) like Blade Runner and Inception.

  • This is the best part of the movie. Can you see the similarity of this escene with the matrix escene when neo take the pill? The only diferent is in this one arnold refuse to take the pill of enslavement and in the matrix neo take the pill because he want to be the one,the antichrist. The red pill simbolise the red apple take by eva from the tree of knowledge.Today many people refuse to take vacines, that is why they use the chentrail, even if you dont like you breaden this, they want you in control.

  • So who do you think is hotter in this movie Lori (Sharon Stone) or Melina (Rachel Ticotin)?

  • Definatley Lori

  • @HelloFade2 Lori (sharon stone) for sure. She could my ass any day of the week :)

  • Heel to the nuts at 3:10, Ouch! Arnold's face and scream at 3:11, Hilarious!

  • "SWALLOW IT!!" I say that to my gf everytime

  • SWALLOW IT!!

  • Now you've done it! NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!

    .......

Common babe, you can't kill me, we're married.

    .......

    Bang!

    .......

    Consider that a divorce!

  • The Matrix on Steroids!

  • can u please upload this movie?

  • Right... thats why you tried to kill me

  • Inception copies similar ideas from this film. Both films are great but Arnold's the best.

  • Lori: I love you.

Doug: Right...that's why you tried to kill me.

LOL! Man, no one does sarcasm better than Arnold. He ain't no fool...he knows Lori's got something up her sleeve...the woman is like a fox. and that's why I like her...man, why did she have to be bad?

  • It can be either one - but it makes more sense to me to think it's real. It's more meaningful that way.

  • About 1000x times better than Matrix

  • In the following scene, Sharon Stone gets into a fight with Rachel Ticotin. She gets kicked in the gut with Rachel's Boot!

  • BULLSHIT.

No one says this word better than Arnold Schwarzenegger. NO ONE.

  • @whostolecarlosrox

"It's all BULLSHIT! ALL OF IT!"

  • just like my ex

  • Bull shit.

  • barbie and ken

  • those walls are paper thin!

  • The whole movie is a dream. Listen to the commentary track, hence the fade to white instead of black, it was to symbolize that it was all a dream.

  • Not a bit of difference between modern psychiatry and Big Farma tactics. Don't forget the payoffs to the politicians.

  • Philip K. Dick was amazing.

  • Thanks for the clip! Roy Brocksmith is actually family (my grandmother's cousin) and I was very excited to see him in this clip. He was an outstanding actor appearing in movies such as Arachnophobia, Kull the Conqueror, Scrooged, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, and of course his prominent role in Picket Fences. He played small roles, yet added so much energy to every motion picture he was in. We all were sad when he died years back due to a rough battle with diabetes. Thank you again!

  • Sharon Stone is so hot.

  • I believe it was in the commentary track that it was revealed that this was intended to be the most pivotal moment in the film. The original script had an ending that revealed that it all was a dream, and that Quaid was "lobotomized", laying catatonic trapped in the fantasy that the recall machine made for him. But when Arnold was cast in the lead role the studio demanded a more heroic ending, so the movie was given a heroic/ambiguous ending.

  • So they made it so it was all real or was it still a dream, there were lots of things in this movie that made it seem he was dreaming.

  • @job489 Essentially it was all real, but it was made so that it would leave you guessing. But it was either Ron Shusett or Paul Verhoeven that said it was all real in the end.

  • @arachknight1979

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

  • @arachknight1979 Honestly, I'm a little annoyed the director came out and told everyone it was a dream. I think it's better ambiguous.

  • Richter didn't even get a chance to finish his strawberry milkshake

  • take the blue pill

  • lol matrix?

  • LMAO When he shoots the Doc and then just spits the pill on him.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

    I love this move

"See you at the party everyone"

  • love how he makes his decision on the sweat and blows his ass away. Very badass. But, sadly, arnold is a tool of the NWO...very evil man in real life.

  • @bfess shutup new world bloody order!

  • I love how this movie makes small switches from action movie to a debate on whether or not what he is experiencing is real or not.

  • This actor was incredible...a great mid point addition to the movie

  • My FAV at 2:43 !!!

  • just a dream. the ending was like a fairy tale.

  • The walls of reality will come crashing down!

    lol

  • YOU'LL BE LABOTOMIZED! >:|

  • I'd think it was all a dream if not for one detail. If all of this was in Quaid's head, wouldn't scenes like Richter's and Coohagen's conversation logically not occur? Quaid wasn't around to witness those events, so why would his mind make them up?

  • IM QUAID!

  • i love this movie, BUT watch it over and over was he dreaming labotomized back on earth? or was he really Howser turned good? its one of those Classics meant to watch again an again cause you will never figure it out... think abut from the time he fell asleep at Recall melina on the TV? Hilton. i wanna ask the director and writer cause its an open window if you ask me.. was Quaid Dreaming or Not?

  • classic classic classic!

miss these kinds of movies and miss the old arnold so much!

  • Me too man, i loved all his movies except Hercules and Junior.. i can truly say growing up watching Predator,Terminator,TotallRecall, he was definately One of my Favorite actors, Vandamme was good too, Bloodsport, kickboxer ,Deathwarrant etc,

  • the best part about this is all the things this guy says like "one second rebel, next second Hagen's buddy" and "fantasies of alien civilisations" are EXACTLY what happens later in the movie.

And didn't Doug request an adventure called "Blue Sky on Mars"?

There are new levels to this movie that so many don't appreciate.

  • i was a kid when i saw this movie .. all i remember is the lady with 3 tits... that will stick with me for life

  • "Makes me wish I had three hands"

"Your doing just fine with two"

  • @deleond2 watch?v=ce9YxJ8nvYM

  • thres another movie lke that called highway to hell and i remember this demon lady had 3 tits lol...

  • @carlawon yeah i remember i was in 3rd grade lol

no wonder im so messed up

  • @carlawon Flawless victory

  • @carlawon same here XD

  • @carlawon i saw this as a kid all i remember is when arnold's face explodes when he goes outside...

  • @carlawon the funny thing is, that same three tited woman came out in the movie paul.

  • @carlawon hey baby, you make me wish i had three hands......

  • The first time I saw this scene I thought "The Matrix totally ripped off this concept, right down the fucking red pill!"

  • the matrix ripped off so many concepts for that movie

  • they sure as hell did.

  • QUAID! BULLSHIT!

  • In the book Dr. Edgemar was totally calm the entire time. And Quaid was lucky it wasn't an instant dissolve pill but one in the plastic casing.

  • lolol "SOLLOW IT!" i hate him hes so mean. Arnold just shoots him in the head, so happy about that lol.

  • Dr. Edgemare almost convinced him too, that was the most hilarious scene in the whole movie, h played him like a harp

  • BOOM HEADSHOT

  • lol

  • bullshit lol

  • from mars LOL :DDDDDDDDD

  • when Quaid returns to his home, he kills 2 guys by gunshot, and nobody notices that

all is a dream, thats another prove

  • dont fuck with arnie !

  • take the red pill and return to " Reality "? fuck u mr fuking matrix man...

  • If you are sure that is not a dream tell me why the girl which Quaid picks up in Rekall for his merories looks like Melina??? Look at the screen in that scene - she looks exactly like Melina! Rekall, I'm sure, didn't know about her, wright?

  • its a dream, why?

when Quaid picks up the model at Recall he see only a manequi, but suddenly it changes into Melina in this moment the dream begins

also he Kills his wife (sharon stone) if it is a dream, at the end, he loses his life and his wife, Quaid ends with brain damage

if its not a dream, well there shoud be a strong scene/element in the movie that supports it, I havent find it

  • Recall implants memories. Memories are past tense. Plus, if this was a dream, it'd be all in the perspective of Quaid. But during the movie the scenes shift to and from the perspectives of many other characters.

And in regards to the computer screen, he was probably seeing what he wanted to see since he was drugged into fatigue.

  • You'll be lobotomized! Swallow it!

  • the famous red pill :O))

  • lmfao stones a complete badass bitch in this Rol

  • Sharon is a great and sexy femme fatale!

  • what exactly was that capsule Edgemar gave to Quaid?

  • Edgemar said it was a "symbol of his desire" to return to reality which would cause him to fall asleep in his dream and wake up sane and safe at Rekall. Though Edgemar being a bad guy, it was probably cyanide.

  • watch from 3:11

  • i have the DVD and have seen this movie many times yet I never could figure out if in the movie it was real or just the memory vacation be bought....can anyone clear it up for me?

  • It was never a dream. Everything Quaid was experiencing was real...my guess, when he went to Recall, his memory cap got popped and the Howser personality appeared and then reverted back to Quaid.

that's why Lori and everyone else was trying to keep him away from Recall.

  • well I think that Paul Verhoeven makes it purposely. In that way you can see the movie with 2 different looking; ex: you can choose to watch the movie thinking that it s only a dream or you can see it thinking that is all real. There is the genius of Paul Verhoeven. But more seriously i think that is real because of some details in the begining check out when Quaid says that he want to live in mars and his wife tries to clear that idea out of his mind proposing him vacation on Saturn;

  • 10 mins later more or less Quaid goes to Rekall to take a trip in Mars and the seller propose him to go to Saturn (strange coincidence) like if someone want to stop him from go to Mars then when he s about to dream about mars (the implant wasn t even made) he starts to recall things about mars, because of that incident Rekall deleted the file of Quaid ect ect. In fact Cohagen was manipulating Quaid all the time coz he discovered too much about Cohagen activities

  • so he erased his memorie and put him the new identity of "Douglas Quaid" so he could approach of Kuato. Well then Cohagen would won the war and continue to sell the air. In the movie there are some details (and i think Paul Verhoeven gone real far) that could put you in doubt about if it s a dream or reality but those strong details at begining makes think that it s all real and that end line "and if it was a dream?" was putted purposely by Verhoeven to make us doubt lol.

  • It can't be a dream, because it shows scenes to the audience, like Cohagen's bitching out of Richter, that Quaid couldn't have witnessed.

  • Quaid never saw Cohagen arguing with Richter, but It could be her imagination in the dream

  • Miss you Roy! Great to see you again, brought back some really nice memories!!!

  • Just listen from 1:30 - 1:55 he explains the rest of the movie right there!

  • The fact is that Paul Verhoeven himself stated in the commentary for this film that Quaid was indeed dreaming all of this and that the bright flash at the end of the movie was Quaid getting lobotomized.

Go check it out, it's true.

  • But Arnlod says he isn't dreaming and Arnold > Verhoeven

  • wtfffffff

  • but in the end back on earth, YOU'LL BE LOBOTOMIZED !!!!!!

  • "YOU BLEW MY COVAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

  • They'll be here any minute! They'll kill you AALLLLLLLLL!!!

  • "Ride....dat's why yoo tryda keel me."

  • I CUD PHOOOL DIS TREGHERR

  • i like that synopsis :o

  • Sharon Stone has such a commanding look with those piercing Blue Eyes when she looks face-to-face at Quaid!

  • the red and the blue pills.....

  • that's entertaining

  • SWALLOW IT !!

  • arnie wasn't buying the jewish doctor's ruse

  • HEADSHOT!!!

  • LMAO i definitely herd the CS voice in that.

  • i hate it when girls kick guys in the balls

  • I love that line, "That's for making me come to Mars. You know how much I hate this fucking planet!"

I also love how the movie's plot details & ending allow the viewer to decide if it was real or just a malfunctioning Recall fantasy.

  • I lost track of how many times Arnold was kicked in the balls.

  • 3 times

  • The next thing you know you'll be Cohaagen's busom buddy! Classic movie cheers

  • The best part was when she kicked him in the nuts. TOO HOT!

    FAP FAP FAP!

  • If that were you I think the pain would negate any arousal.

  • you guys got it all wrong. youre all over analyzing this movie. simply put, quiad is a construction worker who goes to recall for a vacation as a secret agent and he gets exactly what the vacation entails. after the movie was over and he saved the planet his vacation as a secret agent was over and he would have been back with lori and returning to his regular construction job. they try to confuse the fuck outa you when watching this movie but the fact is it is a very very simple plot.

  • But he said he was a secret agent even when they hadn't implanted the memories.

  • one of the best movie scenes ever. nothing can prepare you for it!

  • roy took ah-nuld to acting school in this scene.

  • Things that are not real don't sweat. LOL! Fail!

  • What's amazing is Sharon Stone's acting, just look at her eyes when she says 'i'd never do anything to hurt you.' KILL HER

  • You wanna believe that Lori is a changed woman, but unfortunately for Quaid, it was just a ruse to screw him over.

It's a shame that Lori was one of the bad guys, cause I really liked her.

  • One of best, pivotal scenes of the film. Very clever the way throughout its never confirmed that all the experiences of quaid/howser is real or in his head as part of the recall holiday he purchased. The little shit in the recall lounge says "That's a new one - blue skies on Mars" before he goes under and its how it ends. Brill Arnie flick.
