Some said this one was original? Take Hitchcock's "The Birds" and replace said birds with plants that chain produce a complex neurotoxin, strip the acting and you get "The Happening". Oh, if by original you mean 8 year olds and overweight teenagers outrunning the wind, then by all means... To me, only one of this director's films was entertaining, original, and had quality acting all around.

i just loved this movie. there were no special effects. and the entire movie takes place during the day in sunlight. how many horror movies have u guys seen take place in broad daylight??? Shyamlan is a guy who loves to tell stories and i like that. You cant expect logic in a story. i believe that all his movies have been really nice than the harry farter crap jk rowling writes :)

Guys, honestly I am a huge fan of Shyamalan's work, until I saw this shit. Trailer looked great...but the movie is absolute trash 60s horror flick. All the action happens in the first few minutes and the rest is pretty obvious in terms of what is actually 'happening.' The dickhead even allows the scenes, where the microphone dips into view, make the edit. Night even said 'to just laugh at it.' His words. Don't waste your money.

this movie was great. M night is my fav filmmaker. People who hated this are ones who want to see the same slashers, superhero movies over and over. From the moment they see somethin different that requires them to use their brain, they reject it. Very sad example of media brainwashin. Movies like this are way beyond them intellectually.

I like popcorn movies too but i also love well crafted unique ones. And m night is one of the few directors who can do this today.

kingfbi, I'm also a great fan of M Night, and I too am a person who really appreciates a movie with substance. But there was a clear lack of both substance and entertainment factor in this movie. The acting was also pitiful. he concept was marvellous though. I was really upset because M Night is capable of much more. Being loyal fans we should appreciate a filmaker by also analyzing the faults. I am hoping his next one will be the talk of the town, hes a really great filmaker

The more i hear about the movie the more glad i am i convienced my friends to see the hulk. hollywood should stop trying to be smart and political and get back to entertaining the public, we honestly dont want to hear their ideals, they have no idea how the real political and environmental spectrum works. The whole global warming thing is ridiculous, and hollywood is trying to cash in
