If you go to public school you are not preppy. The preppy lifestyle was originated in college preparatory school, hence the word prep. There are many stores that have items that have a preppy look, but some staple brands include J. Crew, Lacoste, VinyardVines, Lily Pulitzer (esp. mens sweaters) etc. Also, one should not wear sneakers, boat shoes are the way to go. If you wear an abercrombie t-shirt & ripped jeans, you are not preppy. A nice shirt with a sweater, khakis, and boat shoes is preppy.

If you go to public school you are not preppy. The preppy lifestyle was originated in college preparatory school, hence the word prep. There are many stores that have items that have a preppy look, but some staple brands include J. Crew, Lacoste, VinyardVines, Lily Pulitzer (esp. mens sweaters) etc. Also, one should not wear sneakers, boat shoes are the way to go. If you wear an abercrombie t-shirt & ripped jeans, you are not preppy. A nice shirt with a sweater, khakis, and boat shoes is preppy.
